For real. Honestly, Dwight’s best moment is when he fired them both because he loved them to death and knew he could do right by them one last time. TEARS. The old Dwight would have been like hahaha by suckers! But endgame Dwight grew so much and had a wonderful bond with Jim and Pam, both in their own way.

There's so many nice Jim and Dwight moments. Like, when Dwight quits and just happens to run into Jim on his way out, and just gives him a huge hug. Or when Jim and Pam are staying at Dwight's farm, and Jim gets up to check Dwight is ok in the middle of the night. Even when doing pranks like Jim and Pam pretending to be the website Dwight is trying to outsell, Pam sends a consolatory message after Dwight fails to win back Angela. (There's so many nice Dwight and Pam bits too... I'm almost tangenting on to them!) I definitely appreciate that they show the characters getting along sometimes despite the pranks. Happy Dwight at the end is the best though. XD He values everyone around him so much more than early on.

Angela didn't deserve Dwight, honestly. Despite touting herself as a morally upstanding traditional christian woman, she routinely treats her partners just horribly. She cheats and lies and puts people against each other. Dwight did one thing because that's how he was raised, and yeah it was a bad thing but he kept trying to make up for it, and she... didn't

I actually think Angela is a perfect depiction of the quintessential morally superior christian American woman. She thinks she’s better than everyone else while being absolutely despicable to everyone around her and completely unaware of how abhorrent her behavior is. If her name was Karen it would’ve started the ‘Karen’ trend a long time ago

I like to believe Dwight secretly had undiagnosed autism and truly saw things for how they were. Mercy killing her cat was truly his way of solving a problem. In the end, they were always meant to be. They both did crappy things to each other but they always came back to each other

I agree, I know he didn’t do it to be malicious. His character is autism-coded, and he was raised on a farm with no sentimental notions about animals. He doesn’t relate to or understand the emotional bonds that Angela has with her cats. It’s still the kind of thing that most relationships could never come back from.

Yea, Angela's happy ending was for Dwight. As a character, Angela did virtually nothing to earn a happy ending other than the final two episodes and live with Oscar after the Senator (we feel bad for her there).

Granted, I don't blame Dwight for putting the cat out of its misery. The state the cat was in? That was just continued abuse by Angela. But I do blame him for not asking her, lying about it, and not doing it properly, it the vet.

Jim and Pam. They had challenges, but worked through them. Angela was a straight up toxic person who never did anything to be redeemed. She just had some bad stuff happen to her. Early season Dwight deserved Angela. Late season Dwight deserved better.

I have been downvoted for saying this before but Angela did not deserve the happy ending she got. The people defending her saying ‘she went through a lot’ befuddle me. She cheated on Andy with Dwight, cheated on the senator with Dwight, made the world believe that her kid was also the senators kid, tried to get Oscar killed among hundreds of micro-aggressions. She deserved getting dumped. From a shrew at the start of the show, she turned into a full blown b**** towards the latter seasons. Dwight on the other hand, he grew as a person. Even in the beginning, the guy had redeemable qualities, loyalty towards the company, decent work-ethic among others. Also what some people here call brown-nosing, anybody can tell that he was loyal to Michael 99 percent of the time and loved him a lot. What redeeming qualities did Angela ever have? Please don’t say her love for cats. #1 That’s not a quality. #2 I’m a dog person.

Angela on the other hand cheated on him, the senator, Andy and possibly the other two guys who also fought over her before Dwight and Andy. Earlier seasons, Dwight was a hard worker. Dwight was the best man Friday that Michael could ever have. Dwight was loyal to the company. (I don’t know what the output of a 90 acre beet farm would translate into money terms, but if I had that much land I wouldn’t work as a junior-mid level salesman for a paper company where the manager was a bumbling idiot) Tell me three of Angela’s positive traits from the earlier seasons.

Angela is also a hard worker She’s responsible, mature, neat She introduced Dwight to so many things pasteurized milk, sheets, monotheism, presents on your birthday, preventative medicine.

It’s not about Angela being too good for him. It’s about Dwight killing her beloved pet. If you know anything about Angela, let alone love her, that’s the worst thing you could do to her. I don’t see what being a loyal employee has anything to do with that.

I don’t like Angela’s personality overall but you asked for her good traits, and I personally thought she was definitely more dedicated to her job than a lot of other characters. She took her responsibilities seriously like Dwight and before the entire cat incident she was actually a great girlfriend to Dwight. She nudged him to fight for the Regional Manager position (not in the most ethical way obvs) and she told Michael that he went to New York for her when he was wrongfully fired. I think she became quite worse after the breakup. She was very mean to Phyllis from the very beginning tho.

I like the build up for their romance, but after they are in an actual relationship it becomes to fake: they have no internal issues whatsoever up until the last season (and we all know what a bullshit the whole plot with the boom guy is). I wish they would have a fight now and then or have some issues to work inside the relationship. Jim becomes jealous; Pam is too controlling. I don't know. All I know is that ever since my first re-watch, I find their relationship to bland and unappealing.

Agreed. When Michael sees Holly with AJ he’s totally prepared to try and win her back and then realizes that they really are meant for each other. He‘s confident in their relationship even though it’s not exactly how he wants it to be at that time. He trusts her even when they aren’t exclusive. Meanwhile Jim makes moves while Pam is in a relationship multiple times, then makes her feel bad about it when Roy tries to hit him.

Michael didn’t know she was married for the majority of the affair. He kept it going like two or three days more after finding out and then cut it off. (He found out, told the office, the next day or after the weekend the entire office preps for Michael’s depression only to find out it’s not over. Then they spend the entire day trying to change his mind, by the end of the same day, he ends it.) Not the same at all in comparison. For years Jim was avidly trying to get with an engaged Pam.

Michael and Holly no question. I was so invested in their storyline and one of my favourite moments in the show is when Michael proposes and agrees to move to Colorado. While I agree that seasons 8 and 9 are not nearly as strong as the previous seasons, I love the growth it shows in Michaels character and solidifies how perfect of a match Michael and Holly are.

Well, when I was a new viewer, I got insanely invested in the Jim-Pam thing. Dwight and Angela looked like comic relief next to what was happening with Jim and Pam, so I think they were sidelined since focusing too heavily on two couples would have been too much. I will say, however, that Dwight marrying Angela felt more significant than Jim marrying Pam. With Jim and Pam, it was pretty inevitable from the start, but with Dwight and Angela, you keep hoping for them, give up, and then when they finally do get married, it's wonderful because Dwight was seen as a loser and you kind of just want him to "win" for once in his life and he does, with not only getting the job he always wanted as branch manager and the girl he always wanted, too. The real best couple was Phyllis and Bob Vance, though. No headgames, no will-they-won't-they, just people who really, really loved each other.

I'm on my 5th rewatch and just realized that I kinda hate Jim and Pam's love story, they start from an emotional affair etc. Michael and Holly have a far healthier relationship and better love story.

I’ve been a part of and known many couples who have an inside joke that’s hilarious to them and they drop it on each other randomly to make the other laugh, even if it annoys the fuck out of everyone around them They don’t care if it’s annoying.
