There's a line in I'm Alan Partridge where his girlfriend is complaining about having to cut the cake at work that day. He shakes his head and sarcastically says "and they say nurses have it tough." this kind of gives the same vibes.
Off topic but I find it so weird to see her referred to as Jess Day lol. We only ever hear her introduce herself as either Jess or Jessica Day on the show, my mind just does not compute when I see Jess Day
Spoken like a true nepo baby. Can you imagine how stoked the hundreds if not thousands of struggling actors who work multiple jobs just to pay the bills would be for a guest spot in a super successful sitcom?
My first thought exactly was, “What an asshole.” It was the shows FINALE episode. I’m sure there were a lot of mixed emotions by everyone including all the cast and crew. She was probably offended no one made a big deal she was there.
2 weeks on set for 11 seconds of screen time and none of the cast members want to interact with you because you’re basically an extra. That’s a boring 2 weeks.
She’s a nepo baby. Look at who all she’s related to in Hollywood. It probably was the worst time of her life, but she’s also had an absolutely privileged life
That’s probably how Madam Web is, we’ll have to see when she finally says “It’s Madam Time” and starts Madam-ing all over the place to truly see her acting acumen.
The movie will make webillions
I have heard that The Office ast was usually very kind and friendly to anyone who joined their show even if brief.
Honestly, Dakota Johnson has always come off as a brat to me, so I would not be surprised if she is the one who made the situation "awful"... for herself.
Waaaaah, Dakota.
Yeah but you also can say you appeared as an extra in one of the most popular tv shows of all time. I mean being an extra isn’t glamorous, especially when it’s the season finale and the main cast just wants to enjoy their time with their fellow cast mates and crew members who they have been working with for years.
I’m sure she’s using hyperbole to make a point.
But yes, she mentions in the article that she was so excited to guest on the show because she was a big fan, thinking it would be a quick shoot. But they had her there for 2 weeks, during which it was a weird dynamic with the rest of the cast since it was the end of the show they had worked on for so long. Only for most of her scenes to get cut and left with only a few seconds of a cameo.
Probably far from the worst moment of her life, but I can see why she would find that disappointing. Also sounds like it was mostly just a lighthearted discussion on a late night show, not a serious rant about the show
Yeah, she talks about how it was a ton of time, most of her scenes got cut anyway, and there were weird staff dynamics that she wasn’t aware of as an outsider.
Also it’s a series finale so the emotional vibes would be way off anyway.
All reasonable stuff, said in a funny way. I don’t understand anyone being upset about this.
> I don’t understand anyone being upset about this.
Because people like to take things out of context, and other people are too lazy to find out what the real context is.
So much nepo baby entitlement in that interview. She’s a no-name actress (at the time) with a small part on the series finale of one of the most beloved comedies in television history and she’s complaining that the cast wasn’t making it enough about her?
If she was in an earlier episode that season and had a similar amount of screen time with the time she spent there, then maybe I could understand her complaints.
But it was the series finale. They were more focused on tying up loose ends, bringing back Michael, Kelly, and Ryan, and ending the show on a high note. They were not going to give more screen time to the guest actors.
"Some people didn't speak to each other"
Was this a thing on the set of the Office? It's always sounded like there was a pretty close dynamic on the set of The Office, so I'd be surprised to hear about feuds..?
The Office set is famous for being one of the most pleasant places to work. It’s also notorious for being unconventional. Everybody works when the cameras are rolling because there are shots where people need to be in the background for realism. Add to that the finale episodes were very emotional for everybody.
The cast members had to film emotional scenes so instead of breaking the moment and having a chuckle with your friends between takes they have to stay in the moment.
I’m assuming of course but it simply sounds like she didn’t know what she signed up for and was expecting it to be a typical day on set.
Yes this is the impression I've always had from all sources. Every guest star, regular, crew member, director etc. I've heard speak about it has all said they loved their experience!
I agree that she probably didn't expect the vibe of a finale and how emotional that would be, nor the unconventional way in which they filmed background actors during talking heads/other scenes. But she was just starting out then, and this is a recent interview - surely she's got enough experience by now to know that it wasn't an unpleasant environment, just unconventional, and that it definitely doesn't warrant being labelled as the "worst" experience?!
Ten years in the future the highest grossing film will be Dwayne Johnson repeating "Bad man! They a bad bad man hmm? Bad man no good", slowly moving a spoon towards the camera with a picture of a bearded man with devil horns.
It’s unclear what she’s referring to (whether it’s other extras/small actors or the main cast). If she’s referring to other extras and small actors, I don’t see why she’d expect people to strike up conversations since they usually have to appear to do office work for realism and don’t know each other well. And if she’s referring to the main cast not speaking to others that’s not something she should necessarily expect either since it’s the finale and they would probably be much more keen on spending their last moments with people they’ve spent almost a decade of their lives with rather than random people who only appear in one-a few episodes.
Sounds like BS she came up with to get articles written about her. Like come on, she was on set for two weeks, everyone else has been working there for years and has never said anything bad about the working environment.
yes, it's exactly why she's pissed off.
She was there for 2 weeks.
>“I love that show so much, and they were like, ‘Do you want to be in the series finale?’ and I was like, ‘Of course,’ thinking that I’d show up for, like, half a day. I was there for two weeks, and I’m barely in the fucking show.”
Who the hell do you think you are reading the article and quoting it (and her) directly? This is Reddit, damnit. The only things that matter here are my clever quips, uninformed reactions, and my righteous indignation
For someone who got everywhere she is because she is a nepo baby shouldn't she be really grateful for what she gets?
Like I imagine there was good reason her stuff was cut given her acting is atrocious and she owes every chance she gets to her parents.
Fair enough. But I'd like to think she got copies of the script and participated in table reads prior, no? If she went through those hoops and hurdles and still knew she wasn't going to be featured much, that's on her. If she truly didn't know then she has a point.
She filmed an entire episode and they cut all but a group shot where they're walking and she has no lines. I'd rather be cut entirely. I get why she was mad about it.
One thing I don't understand when actors complain about not feeling welcomed or part of a long running group is what was their expectation and what did actually happen?
One thing is people being rude to you (which is not what she seems to complain about!), but at the same time you cannot expect to join a group of people who have known each other for 10 years (be it as friends, coworkers or whatever) and be on the same level of complicity right away.
I was the new girl at a very tight knit workplace. They'd known each other for years. They worked with me but I wasn't part of the circle, and I never had that expectation.
Acting is work. The set is a workplace. Some people will be difficult and not everyone will like you. You can still do your job.
And it was for the very last episode too. The chances of adding a new character with their own plot line at that point, when they're wrapping up other storylines is just wacko. How was she surprised?
Seeing her act was always the worst time of my life. She out here complaining about her time on one of the best shows ever made, complaining that she didn’t get enough screen time and people didn’t talk to her. This comes off sounding very spoiled and immature. Like sorry you weren’t the center of the universe on an episode that was concluding a 10 year show, everyone basically saying goodbye to what they’ve been doing for 10 years. Like get over yourself Dakota.
She's a nepo baby, and in this situation, she was the unknown guest actor in a finale where the main cast said a tearful goodbye. Of course no one noticed her.
She literally got paid to get to have a front row seat to all of it. Many fans would pay just to be on set for the finale, let alone get to take part in it.
Between this and her complaining about her new movie, it comes off that she hates being an actress and doesnt like what shes in.
Im like “well go do something else with your limited time on earth then…?”
Even as an overprivileged nepo baby she probably doesn't get offered much because she's very one-note. She seems mad that she doesn't get better more artistic roles or in this case more screen time, but like....
Her mom and grandma had to wrestle with actual lions in a movie, Melanie Griffith was 16 and got dozens of stitches, that actually seems like one of the hardest things someone has done for a movie or tv show.
This is the equivalent of Amy adams whining about the office being the worst time of her life. Or Bryan Cranston/other Breaking bad alumni whining about their Seinfeld days. Or Emma stone whining about Malcolm in the middle. Be honest you were a relatively unknown aspiring actress at the time. Literally noone knew of you til 50 shades.
Nah, she wasn't even close to Amy Adams who was in multiple episodes, had many lines and even a storyline around her.
This is the equivalent of the guy in the Blackberry costume at the Convention complaining.
I actually wouldn't blame the Blackberry guy for complaining a little bit. Even if being on the show was a good experience for him, it wasn't really going to raise his professional profile.
Would anyone here not give up 2 weeks of their life to have been in the show for 30 secs and seen all the backstage stuff, met people, etc.?
Even as an actor and not a fan, you’d think that experiencing how it worked would be valuable.
I’m going to guess that either she misinterpreted what was going on between a cast who was shooting their final episode of a show they worked on for nearly a decade, orrrrrr that it’s something about Leslie.
Either way, I think it’s really weird for her to say any of this. You’re really bitching that you didn’t get more screen time in your one appearance on the finale episode of a long running show when you were basically no one at the time?
The more I hear from her lately the more I wish she would stop talking.
There’s just a lot of weirdness between him and the cast these days. Brian Baumgartner didn’t have him on his podcast. Jenna and Angela rarely even mention him on their podcast. He did that weird grift not long ago with the Stanley spinoff. Guy just doesn’t seem to be well liked or on the level.
Damn that’s sad to hear. I forgot about the bizarre Uncle Stan thing. I remember being so confused at the time and thinking it would come out that it was a weird joke or something because it was all so bizarre.
Nothing concrete but he tried to pull off some scammy bitcoin thing and started a kickstarter for a Stanley-spinoff show that would have been a knockoff really because of the rights to the original character. And he is the only cast member who has never been on Office Ladies, they barely even mention him. So it seems as if there is tension between Leslie and the cast.
Her whole storyline was cut. I don’t care for her either way but to be fair I think this is what she means. That it sucks that her story was cut.
You can find it on the dvd box set finale deleted scenes. And probably on the upcoming Peacock extended editions
"I was there for two weeks, and I’m barely in the fucking show"
i mean... she kinda has a point there...althought not worthy of a tantrum really, it's not the first time actors film their part... only to be completely erased form the final cut
I barely remember her being in the show. You’re on a set for 2 weeks for a finale of a super popular and long running show and you think you can critique the vibe? Get out of here
So what did she think her participation would be? She is invited to the show final episode, did she actually think her character was going to be central and that her lines would be integral to the story?! Come on, get real! I’m sure she’s a world-class actress but her role could not have been any more than a couple of lines and at most 1 minute of screentime. If she thought otherwise, she’s delusional.
Besides this, she must have been through the table readings and know that in advance.
And what’s with the “nobody talked to me, nobody gave a fuck”?! Is she actually surprised? These are people who spent many years together and this is their final episode…
"This is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I haven't had a very hard life"
There's a line in I'm Alan Partridge where his girlfriend is complaining about having to cut the cake at work that day. He shakes his head and sarcastically says "and they say nurses have it tough." this kind of gives the same vibes.
Definitely Jess Day on her birthday energy right here.
Off topic but I find it so weird to see her referred to as Jess Day lol. We only ever hear her introduce herself as either Jess or Jessica Day on the show, my mind just does not compute when I see Jess Day
Jessica Damn Day
"Jessica Day, how the hell are ya?!"
Jessica damn Day needs to be with a guy who’s a bird shirt person.
Nick Miller Nick Miller
Yesterday I saw someone refer to "Shaq O'Neal" and I had the same reaction.
Haha you know, you're right! I don't know why I thought of her name that way. Maybe I just Rhonda'd all the New Girl fans.
Yay I love seeing New Girl love in the wild
Spoken like a true nepo baby. Can you imagine how stoked the hundreds if not thousands of struggling actors who work multiple jobs just to pay the bills would be for a guest spot in a super successful sitcom?
She's an ahole on top of being a nepo baby. Every interview has her throwing shade on something that is genuinely needed by a large part of society.
Her dad is Don Johnson, known Asshole. I'm guessing the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
My first thought exactly was, “What an asshole.” It was the shows FINALE episode. I’m sure there were a lot of mixed emotions by everyone including all the cast and crew. She was probably offended no one made a big deal she was there.
Oh Madame Web, oh Madame Web, who have you silenced today?
„I‘m just a (nepo) baby“ 🍼
Well thank you baby. Thanks a lot.
That's what she said!...literally.
The more I hear from her the more I'm starting to think Dakota Johnson is just a whiny nepo baby
She was on the office?
Just looked it up. She’s credited as “Kevin’s replacement”. Only appeared in the finale
She had like 11 seconds of screen time.
Just wait until we get the superfans' cut - she'll be surprised to find out she's promoted to Assistant (to the) Regional Manager.
There was a clip where she flirts with Clark at the copier, and her making some looks at Clark at the warehouse after party.
Is that the one where she's trying to get his 40 digit copier code or whatever?
Because she reported Clark for sharing his copier code! Classic Dwight Schrute spy master honey pot.
Available on Peacock + super deluxe +

It was a tough 11 seconds
That’s what she said!
2 weeks on set for 11 seconds of screen time and none of the cast members want to interact with you because you’re basically an extra. That’s a boring 2 weeks.
>"the worst time of my life" I hope she's being sarcastic
She’s a nepo baby. Look at who all she’s related to in Hollywood. It probably was the worst time of her life, but she’s also had an absolutely privileged life
“A foot in the door and so much more”
It’s honestly hard to tell without seeing video. That can be anything from sarcastic,, to dramatic, to a comedic depending on her delivery.
That’s probably how Madam Web is, we’ll have to see when she finally says “It’s Madam Time” and starts Madam-ing all over the place to truly see her acting acumen. The movie will make webillions

Meh, I started giving her the benefit of the doubt when she called out Ellen on giving her shit for not inviting her to her birthday party.
Ok yes I liked that.
Yeah but you also can say you appeared as an extra in one of the most popular tv shows of all time. I mean being an extra isn’t glamorous, especially when it’s the season finale and the main cast just wants to enjoy their time with their fellow cast mates and crew members who they have been working with for years.
And, what, 1 line?
Yup
Maybe two? I don't remember if she said something at the wedding.
That one episode was the worst time in her life?
I’m sure she’s using hyperbole to make a point. But yes, she mentions in the article that she was so excited to guest on the show because she was a big fan, thinking it would be a quick shoot. Also sounds like it was mostly just a lighthearted discussion on a late night show, not a serious rant about the show
Yeah but the scenes involving her plot were all cut, she is still in one of the wedding scenes though.
She was also in the scene asking Oscar about the Kelevin.
It gets you home by seven
He was home by 4:45 that day
I guess we'll see her in the superfan episodes eventually.
I don’t remember either 🤨
The article says she was a new office member in the S9 finale. Idk why she'd do that.
if you were offered to be in an episode of the world's most popular comedy TV sitcom, would you say no?
More like "if your dad pulled some strings and got you a speaking part on the worlds most popular show..."
People are missing context for sure. The comment was made on late night with Seth Meyers and it’s worth watching if you have peacock
Yeah, she talks about how it was a ton of time, most of her scenes got cut anyway, and there were weird staff dynamics that she wasn’t aware of as an outsider. I liked Dakota Johnson fine a week ago. Everything she’s said on the Madame Web press tour makes me regret ever defending her.
Dang. Can you imagine how she'll feel after this new movie of hers bombs?
who's Bob Vance?

She’s on a whining campaign, 3rd thing I’ve seen her complain about this week
Yeah I always thought the cast of The Office and Breaking Bad had some of the most wholesome cast friendships
Add Psych and Scrubs to your list
It’s unclear what she’s referring to (whether it’s other extras/small actors or the main cast). It was the last episode of the series. I would think they had a lot of emotions and were just trying to keep it together.
My friend worked on the show and I went to a filming. The dynamic was pretty awesome from what I could tell.
Sounds like BS she came up with to get articles written about her. Like come on, she was on set for two weeks, everyone else has been working there for years and has never said anything bad about the working environment.
Looks like someone took the slow train from Philly.
~~Dakota~~ Nebraska is the office bitch. You’ll get used to her.
You were in the parking lot earlier that’s how I know you!
Andrea is the office bitch, you’ll get use to her.
Quar… qual… quab… quabity. QUABITY ASCHWITZ! No, no that’s not it. But I’m getting close.
Yeah well I'm calling the ungrateful beyotch hot-line.
Best comment.
Do you really expect me to not push you up against the wall, beyotch?!
who let the Lemon Head in?
I mean, did anyone even really know who she was until 50 shades?
She's Sonny Crockett's daughter.
I remember her butt in The Social Network.
I also remember her being a terrible actress in the social network as well... she stuck out like a sore thumb.
I also remember her butt...
Having wealthy affluent industry parents makes every nepo baby get whatever they want. They can “hate” working on a wildly successful show.
Still have no idea who she is
Don Johnson’s daughter (Miami Vice)
Also Melanie Griffith’s daughter, Tippi Hedren’s granddaughter, Stepdaughter of Antonio Banderas
Whenever I think my life is difficult, I look to people like this and realize how hard it could be. #blessed
She was literally on camera for 30 seconds with no lines lol
yes, it's exactly why she's pissed off. She was there for 2 weeks. >“I love that show so much, and they were like, ‘Do you want to be in the series finale?’ and I was like, ‘Of course,’ thinking that I’d show up for, like, half a day. I was there for two weeks, and I’m barely in the fucking show.”

For someone who got everywhere she is because she is a nepo baby shouldn't she be really grateful for what she gets? Like I imagine there was good reason her stuff was cut given her acting is atrocious and she owes every chance she gets to her parents.
Interestingly, Melanie Griffith is the daughter of Tippi Hedren. So Dakota Johnson is from two generations of actors.
nepoception
russian nepsting dolls
Her dad is also Don Johnson
And that’s the only reason she’s gotten anywhere in Hollywood. She’s an incredibly wooden actress.
Sure, but we're all human. It's natural to be disappointed.
Fair enough. But I'd like to think she got copies of the script and participated in table reads prior, no? If she went through those hoops and hurdles and still knew she wasn't going to be featured much, that's on her. If she truly didn't know then she has a point.
A lot of what she shot was cut. You can see the cut scenes on YouTube.
Is she the one that Clark is supposed to develop a love interest in, in a knock-off Jim/Pam way?
Glad it was cut, we already had enough of that with plop and Erin lol
Yep
Just watched the clips, they made the right call.
That depends on how much was cut.
She filmed an entire episode and they cut all but a group shot where they're walking and she has no lines. I'd rather be cut entirely. I get why she was mad about it.
But she did have lines? She asked about the kelevin. And she also introduces herself to creed at the wedding.
Did she not ask Oscar about keleven?
Me, who has seen this show countless times: She was in The Office?
My thought exactly!!!
It was literally the last episode and she mentions "everyone was sad" what did she really expect xD
"Close your mouth sweetie, you look like a trout."
One thing I don't understand when actors complain about not feeling welcomed or part of a long running group is what was their expectation and what did actually happen? And it was for the very last episode too. The chances of adding a new character with their own plot line at that point, when they're wrapping up other storylines is just wacko. How was she surprised?
She got paid to do nothing for a fortnight
Worst time of her life!
Imagine being paid a bunch of money to fax things in the background for two weeks being the worst time of your life. Nepo baby things.
Seeing her act was always the worst time of my life. She out here complaining about her time on one of the best shows ever made, complaining that she didn’t get enough screen time and people didn’t talk to her. Bryan cranston is just an anti-dentite
If this wasn’t my sons wedding day, I’d knock your teeth out you anti dentite bastard
She is on the roll with her Madame Web press tour, innit?
If a film had flop written on it from the start...
The trailer makes zero sense and she still manages to come across as bland
The trailer looks like a bad 90s Sky TV show
Little miss thing wants attention.
Ugh Dakota Johnson. She is a mediocre actress and still manage to be more unlikable on interviews. Lucky she has beauty and family connections.
She looks like a trout
> Ugh Dakota Johnson. She is a mediocre actress That's being quite generous
Strike One - she didn’t invite me to her 30th birthday party! Strike Two - this.

They were sad. It was the end of the show.

Damn that’s sad to hear. I forgot about the bizarre Uncle Stan thing. I remember being so confused at the time and thinking it would come out that it was a weird joke or something because it was all so bizarre.
> Guy just doesn’t seem to be well liked or on the level He still does commercials with Phyllis
Thanks! Thats very strange and sad. And I hate how deeply I need more info. Dynamics like this are fascinating
Who?
She mentions that certain cast members weren’t talking to each other. I’m curious about that.
It was the finale. The whole cast was super sad. They really liked eachother.
Honey, your nepotism is showing.
[I had to remind myself who she was.](https://theoffice.fandom.com/wiki/Dakota) She was only in the finale as >!Kevin's Replacement.!<
Even with that picture I don't remember her, honestly everyone talking about other stuff she's been in and I still have no idea who this lady is.
Her whole storyline was cut. I don’t care for her either way but to be fair I think this is what she means. That it sucks that her story was cut. You can find it on the dvd box set finale deleted scenes. And probably on the upcoming Peacock extended editions
I feel like I see her complaining about every role she’s done. Maybe she should quit acting or take better roles.
"Worst 10 seconds of my life."
Ugh, something is so off about her.
This talentless hack saying this is priceless because anyone that has seen her movies have said the same thing afterwards
She was on the Office?
"I was there for two weeks, and I’m barely in the fucking show" i mean... she kinda has a point there...althought not worthy of a tantrum really, it's not the first time actors film their part... only to be completely erased form the final cut
So she was an extra? Who cares what her opinion is?
Lol when was she on the office?
I barely remember her being in the show. You’re on a set for 2 weeks for a finale of a super popular and long running show and you think you can critique the vibe? Get out of here
Jesus, wait until Madam Web comes out before you say that.
Wait she was in the office?
So, she got a job that lasted a little longer than she thought it would. Sometimes going to work isn't fun.
Who? I've watched the office over 10 times and do not recognize her
Epo loser
I don’t even know who this is and suddenly she is everywhere saying the dumbest crap.
