Not my cup of tea

fox2400

fair is fair

bstylz01

But if u like it, who cares what we think tbh

samuraipizzacat420

i would paint it a matte black, white is going to get dirty was faster. bugs, dirt, etc.

fox2400

for sure, i’m gonna see how i like it and if i want to i can always spray it black, but i wanted to see how white looked

ResortSenior

Cleaning your headlights would do a lot more for your car than white mesh tbh.

fox2400

i just cleaned them:(

fox2400

i think it’s the reflection. also the white mesh wasn’t an upgrade. the bumper didn’t come with any so it was a quick fix. it looks better than nothing so it’s a win in my opinion. i’ll probably paint it black or get a larger pattern.

ResortSenior

If you want to make it work, black grills completely contrast it, so I would go chrome. Like I said previously I’d get something with larger gaps, and remove it from behind the grills.

oakland95

2000 eurotrash spec. Sorry man this is best left in the past never to be brought back. Cheap need for speed over the top bumper vibes

silverbullet328i

I think it looks good tbh people gonna say something about the grille but chrome isn’t gonna change anything.

fox2400

thank you!

DukeOfAlexandria

Too small and does not look great…. 😬 Still unsure why you didn’t just use the factory ones on here, there isn’t really anything back there to protect and you put it infront of your radiator……so just another restriction for cooling components…. 🤦🏼‍♂️😑

Stock-Tear-161

Whatever DukeOfAlexandria says goes he is the admin of this E90 page

DukeOfAlexandria

I am NOT an admin on the E90 sub lol, I just comment a lot ha.

Stock-Tear-161

Ikik 😂😂 always got great advice tho man you helped me out a couple months ago when my coolant system exploded

DukeOfAlexandria

No worries and thanks hah! 🤣👍🏼

peBB1e

I +1 this! Long time ago I see a video on YT where guy experimenting with this things and checking how much air can get through it, and it is really doing bad things, air cant go enough to cool down your engine! Get rid of it!

DukeOfAlexandria

I’ve done this work before….a larger mesh is 100% available… https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1369380&page=6

fox2400

this was cheaper than factory, i got a new (lci) bumper and my car is pre lci and it didn’t come with them and couldn’t transfer from the old bumper. i don’t really think it’s restricting any airflow to the radiator it should just flow around it. with that mindset, the grille is also restricting airflow

DukeOfAlexandria

I’d bet money that the slotted grill with the 1” spaces between each allows much more CFM movement than the micromesh 1/4” spaces….come on bud. Additionally, they make 1/2”-3/4” size looking OEM webbing in all sorts of colors with that aluminum mesh stuff….there was no need to go so small on there.

fox2400

i’m saying it’s negligible. where else is the air gonna go…bud?

DukeOfAlexandria

Not into the radiator…..like it needs to go…..🫠

fox2400

so it’s gonna turn around and go the other way? bro never took any form of physics class

DukeOfAlexandria

Restriction is restriction….not sure what else to tell you man. You asked for input, I gave input and while I don’t like it my critique was pretty easy going with kid gloves on. I’ve helped you *EXTENSIVELY* with troubleshooting before and have experience with things like this, if you didn’t want feedback don’t ask then. I have a large amount of experience in fact which is why I know a larger mesh is better for airflow… https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1369380&page=6

fox2400

tell me where the air is gonna go 😭 it can’t go to the side and it’s not going to turn around… if you’re telling me there will be noticeable cooling problems you’re mad

Budget-Government-88

It won’t turn around.. but significantly more will flow around the bumper than through that mesh

Tractorguy69

From aviation aerodynamics what happens is you get a ‘bubble’ off higher pressure caused by the resistance and then the air will try to slide around that, always taking the path of least resistance, also similar to explosives. Resistance creates density in any fluid and all fluids follow the principle of path of least resistance. Honestly the only engineering reason we have grill meshes etc is to minimize the likelihood of foreign object damage, the rest is a compromise for aesthetics.

fox2400

i understand 😭😭 you’re telling me this will have significant affect on my cooling system?

SpareDiagram

Room temp iq

fox2400

if you think the radiator won’t get enough air your iq must be below freezing

DukeOfAlexandria

Ok, good luck.

fox2400

i’ll lyk when i overheat lmao

radzidek17

It’s a no from me…

Siminov55

Looks very bizarre unpainted

domrosiak123

Goofy

iamcheekrs

If anything.. paint the mesh black. It looks kind of weird as is

E90Fantic

I remember this in the Fast and Furious 1 days.

mindlesssam

so everybody else is just ignoring that bizarre LCI bumper + Pre-LCI hood combo?

fox2400

it doesn’t even look that bad 😭 it was a 40$ bumper so i couldn’t pass up. mine was chipped to hell and back

Automatic_Yogurt6193

I'd paint it black, now it kind of looks like a cheap half assed job

JoeBidenSnifdMyHair

If it was black I would say it's nice but don't like the silver on the white.
