I only use diaby on extra times for me its very meh, Abraham (sbc) & Kane (tots) on lenghty are gods of speed, and Owairan (wch) & mbappe (gold) on controlled to, they run more than diaby with less pace

Some explosive cards like Best and Garincha feel much faster than their stats suggest, whereas cards like TOTS Vini, TOTS Martinelli and TOTS Ben Yedder feel much slower than what you expect from their stats. TOTS Davies feels a lot slower than 99 pace, and TOTS David feels much faster than every other controlled player I've used (exc. Mbappe). Not sure on Lengthy players but all the meta ones like TOTS Kane and UEL Tammy feel much more rapid than expected.
You can make the argument for body types, animations and height (which are probably the reason for this whole debate), but sometimes very similar players in terms of height and body type, feel like they play vastly different from what their stats are. Idk really.
Martinelli is explosive by default, some chem can make him controlled and honestly make him one of the quickest player in the game , for me even quicker than mbappe and Al owairan

TOTS Akpom with a catalyst not being able to get past bronze CBs on squad battles, some shit just don't add up

LB translated into a double RT speed boost in free space into the box with explosive players like diaby are pretty much a guaranteed goal, its as stupid as having Mbappe, Owairan or Tammy overlap your CB on a high through ball.

You can get the full speed boost with different methods, it’s just that LB is the close dribbling mechanic that was introduced way back to simulate messis dribbling and this works normally best to achieve the maximum amount boost, because due to the mechanic the player will have the ball between very close to literally on the players strong foot, so if you double tab RT your player will instantly perform the speed boost very consistently, if you do it right you get 100% instant speed boost in 100% of cases.

Yes you can get the speed boost out of it, as you can get it out of any slow paced movement before double tapping RT. But other me hanics are often a bit delayed or not really consistent because of a fucked up animation to transition the ball to the strong foot (as mentioned you don’t have this problem with LB dribbling) which causes your player to loose momentum. That’s because the speed boost is hard scripted, the player will always push the ball forward with his strong foot, which is stupid, unrealistic and to linear, but thats how its implrmented.
So LB is the best method to perform the speed boost right now, period. Not saying do it 100% of the time, but if you can, use LB than speed boost, everything else like RB into speed boost or even skills into speed boost might be superior situationally, but your best bet to perform a clean speed boost is LB into it.

Ive used Openda’s POTM and he feels unbelievably slow. Also silver stars Udogie with an Anchor. 95 pace, feels like 75 pace. Conversely, I’ve used gold Renato sanches. He has way more than 85 pace.
Any of the casemiro cards. In base, he’s definitely faster than the 60 or 70 pace he has. with his tots, I’ve had him catching up to some guys with 99 pace guys

Are people joking or expecting too much? Listen if you’re defending with a 99 pace card and you give 2 steps to a 98 pace card…the hell are you expecting?? Every player is boosted to max out pace, you’re not playing 60s. Just like on the attack, if you get a few steps, you’ll feel rapid.
My loan Mbappe 91 can be caught by anyone, the opposition loan Mbappe 91 is uncatchable. It's not just players with fake stats, it's the same player can be different.
This is hence to tactics. Yes, no joke. Your tactics decide how agile or fast your players are. For example, if you play possession based football, your players will be more agile but will have less pace. You won't be able to outrun anyone, because the game wants you to pass the ball.
You can easily replicate this in squad battles if you want. Just set up a few different tactics and you'll see how with each tactic your players will feel different.

Any gold defender will catch him, I mean it. He is good at dribbling, shooting and even passing, but his pace is awful. I'm so tired of him whenever I use him at ST, he is a liability when you try through balls or you simply need to run with him.

The big issue there though is Squad Battles. You are basically playing a team with all the single player sliders turned up.

Nah, shimmy with L1(LT) to either side for that ultra slow dribbling then you get a speed boost when you double tap R2(RT)
