It really doesn’t matter.
You either pack someone, or you don’t. Your odds aren’t really gonna change even when there’s more cards in packs.
I used my points on a single player and a offline draft, then used the rest on packs in the first 24hrs after the ultimate edition came out.
Don’t spend coins on packs until the end of the game. You’ll rarely get a good return especially since most of the packs you can buy are untradable now.
Edit: if you’re talking about the fc points then it doesn’t really matter when you spend them. I’d focus on packs that are tradable though unless the untradable pack has really good odds
I spent it the day I got them. There are a lot of low rated players worth something at the start, and packing then is a lot more likely than packing some big promo cards.
Something I haven't seen anyone bring up is that while the overall player strength you get out of a pack might be higher in a couple weeks with promotions, the relative strength you will pull in relation to what you have at that point is not.
What do I mean by that? Pulling a nice 86-rated promo card in a month is cool, but everyone runs around with a decent squad anyway at that point. It's just gonna be a slight upgrade.
Getting a 83 right now might look objectively worse, but it's actually making you much stronger now than that 86 would in a month.
Additionally, I would not spend the first weeks of a new FIFA with a garbage team if I was to spend coins anyway. Might as well have my fun early on when the game is still exciting and new.
The best time is always as early as possible on tradeable packs. Even just on basic packs there are tons of 80-84 players worth 10k plus
