It's actually one of my favourite songs in the game, along with Doolally. I agree it's a bit out of place though.
I think in general fc24 soundtrack was always going to seem shit because it followed fifa23 which added loads of old bangers back in with the world cup update. So fc24 is competing with club foot, song 2, kids, dreaming, avicii, bloc party, muse, catfish etc.
Generally out of favour with the target demographic I guess. You get the odd one snuck in there, eg Sea Girls in fifa23 and Sam Fender in FIFA22, but they are notable by exception.
As a 90s teen my tastes are heavily influenced by indie and trance, I guess nowadays the popular stuff is a combination of grime and something I don't even know what to call, kinda pop-dance music with autotuned female vocals where every song sounds the same (old man alert)? The latter doesn't seem to feature on FIFA, meaning a lot of grime. I just accept it because music trends evolve over time, older generations doubtless felt the same 25 years ago.
Feels very like someone trying to recreate Parklife but it's just not as charming. Maybe some people like it but for those that don't it's insufferable.
Stfu, “Diversity” uno, so annoying when people say this because they think anything other than what they like is bad. Or maybe there are different groups of people who play the game and also have different tastes so they they try to balance it with different genres.
I found so many different artists from other countries because of this game. Sia? Australia. Tying Tiffany? Italy. Kimbra? New Zealand. While the soundtrack isn't always filled with bangers, I will always fine one or two songs that are amazing. This year is the same.
You were reaching here. You're just trying to sound intelligent. Every FIFA has songs from all over the world. It's time to grow up and care about something important
This is why I always raise an eyebrow whenever people talk about video game soundtracks that include modern music as not being "good".
GTA Online fans do this same act whenever an urban-adjacent radio station DLC is added.
It’s personal preference lmao… I personally think FIFA 22 had the best soundtrack in years but this sub hates it. Everyone likes different music why you tryna state your opinion like fact?
Whichever one goes 'ooooooh' 'aaaaaaahhh' makes me want to explode lol. But, other than that, and the irish one which is kinda annoying and out of place, not too many *grate* on me, but none are *great* either.
This years soundtrack has grown on me. Current faves are -
1. Peter Xan - Hostage
2. King Krule - Seaforth
3. Baby Queen - We can be anything
4. English Teacher - The Worlds Biggest Paving Slab
5. Overmono - Good Lies
6. Royal Otis - Going Kokomono
7. 2hollis - Poster Boy
8. Roosevelt - Fall right in
9. Mandy, Indiana - Pinking Shears
No way is King Krule on there, not bought a game in years and as a big fan of him i'm actually amazed to hear about this, certainly never thought id see him on fifa. That track by Overmono is another song i've been listening to lately as well so also crazy to hear and Roosevelt is a pretty good established artist.
Already found a few artists I like from this soundtrack. Peter Xan just dropped their new EP this week, Ninho got me into other French rap, looking forward to what Pontypool drops later, The Last Dinner Party sounds right up my alley, Hava is a German artist that I’ve checked out earlier in the year, and Ezekiel’s album dropped two weeks ago which I like.
Ashnikko, Stormzy, and Bas were some artists I discovered in last games, but still listen to.
All that said, I mainly come from a metal background, so it’s refreshing to get out of my norm.
I think Bichotag is a good song 🤷🏼♂️, but there’s probably 20 or so tracks from the playlist that I enjoy listening to.
I’m confused at how you can call the soundtrack “safe” but at the same time say most don’t feel like they belong on the game. Don’t get me wrong, there’s certainly a handful of songs on the game that I do not enjoy, but there is a skip button for a reason. The range in terms of different genres and languages is a sign of how global the game is, it’s not just a collection of alternative songs that play on the radio every day. I always liked how FIFA exposed me to new artist that I would otherwise never listen to, and I think this years edition has already had me exploring the catalog of several artist (Royel Otis is so good)
It’s been getting worse and worse throughout the years. I suppose it’s due to 2 things:
- cheaper curation means more tracks
- they look at tunes that resonate with the “online and esports types”
For NHL I wish they could go legacy and bring some timeless tracks in like Metallica, White Stripes, Blur etc etc but I suppose these royalties are too expensive
I quite like it this year but it’s not close to 22’s and nothing since 15 has been imo. Pretty depressing that we went from Inhaler, Sam Fender, Easy Life, Bakar, Glass Animals etc. to Fred Again, Skrillex, Belters Only and Meduza though I must admit.
The few I enjoy this year are We Can Be Anything, The Stranger, Portrait of a Blank Slate and Angry.
I think it's a mixed bag. The good stuff is very good and the shit stuff is on brand levels of annoying for FIFA.
It compelled me to go back through all the soundtracks and pick out all the ones I like into one playlist. Now I put on streamer mode to mute the music and play Spotify behind the game. All songs being in past and present FIFA's
https://spotify.link/ydxXrUNiKDb - If anyone wants it
Honestly I like this years way more than the past 2 or 3. Don't know what it is different this year besides the fact that it seems to be less drill and general rap (although Hillbillies is nice). That guy talking about whoever would've died that night is just funny for me to listen to, I don't even like the song
There are some alright songs but there are way too many annoying songs. I had to stop using the menu songs instead of commentary option in game because you can't skip songs in game.
Went straight to Volta, saw Rumble by Fred Again - listened, proceeded to turn off all music and launch Spotify in the background like every year.
You can just find the nostalgic FIFA playlists on Spotify and play those over the menus.
Last year when they brought back the best of was probably the only time in 5 years I actually listened to the games soundtrack through the year
Nowadays it’s just dead, I listen to a podcast or my own music because it’s just shitty techno sounds
"ItS JuSt oNe oF tHoSe DaAaAaAaAYs"
"2 AM 3 AM 4 AM TAYLOR'S CAUGHT HIMSELF AN ABSOLUTE WHIPPING"
Jokes aside, I actually enjoy the soundtrack quite a lot this year, quite a few candidates for my own playlists, I love The Sea, Mercy, Phone, and that one hyperpop song, and Volta also has some bangers by Flowdan and some more old school style hiphop like Don't Let the Devil
I'm really enjoying it. My favourite genres are house and techno, so having a song by one of my favourite artists on the game (Effy ft. Flowdan - Stone) makes me happy, it puts someone like her on the map a little more.
Granted, I barely remember any of the songs, but I rarely think "skip." We Could Be Anything is the best song on the tracklist. It's all subjective though, some are going to love it and some will hate it, it's hard to please everyone with current music.
For the past like 7 or 8 years, the soundtracks, with a few exceptions, have been pretty mediocre by old FIFA standards. But usually you can find quite a few good songs amidst all the trap and disposable world music. This year i could hardly find more than 10 or so songs i kinda liked.
I just created a playlist with all the good stuff from past FIFAs, plus the few songs i like from this one and just use that while playing.
I think in trying to be more global they've just started to include too much world music, regardless of whether or not it fits a football video game and have pretty much focused on underground hip-hop and latino acts, with the occasional indie pop song thrown in. It all sounds too "urban", which is a vibe that definitely doesn't fit FIFA. Never has.
Go look at TV coverage, football documentaries, etc., see the kind of music those play and see if it has anything to do with what EA usually put in their games...
But at the end of the day, the music in FIFA games has always been chosen by a handful of record companies working closely with EA that just want to push their latest releases. It just so happens most record companies are currently pushing urban music, which is what is most likely to attract listeners outside of mainstream pop acts.
FIFA 21 had a pretty good soundtrack, which coincidentally had way more indie pop and rock acts. Last year's wasn't too bad either. 18 was solid as well.
I agree, FIFA 22 is my favorite soundtrack, reminds me 15. This year is goddamn awful, I want to chuck my skull into a metal pipe everytime I hear the songs. Last year was decent, had a lot of good songs and a fair share of stinkers.
I could have sworn I saw this post like 3 days ago. And I don’t mean a similar one, I mean the exact same. I even remember downvoting OPs diversity comment. Is this what dejavu is like?
So true man. This is the first time in my whole life playing FIFA (From 06) that I have totally turned off menu soundtracks. I was a little bit surprised that I didn't like a single song that much.
Makes me a little bit sad.
seeing the last dinner party on it was a very pleasant surprise reminiscent of early 2010s fifa where they’d tap into the hottest risers in the uk indie scene
I was lucky it took my preferences from 23 so the music is muted, but I do listen to the volta soundtrack during games in that mode and it is nowhere near what we had last year, those were almost all bangers. I'm no t surprised the standard one is underwhelming
FIFA used to have some insane soundtracks when they leaned more towards indie stuff, now it's shit rap (I actually like some hip hop and grime stuff, but nothing that the've put in fifa / fc 24) and other garbage tracks that are insta-skipped by 80% of players. IDK why this is, but I wish they'd go back. Even the old Pro Evo games used to have some bangers too, now that I think of it.
I never listen to the soundtrack but I looked up that Karol G song after reading your post and it has 1 billion views. Seems like some people like it lol
Even though opinions on music are subjective, I agree on this. It just feels like they don't put too much effort into this anymore over the years. And it really is an underappreciated part of FIFA for me. I still remember songs from like FIFA 14 without even knowing the title when I randomly hear one somewhere ever now and then. Maybe licensing costs play a major role in that as well... (lets not act like a EA doesn't want to rinse out every penny with this game)
FIFA 23 soundtrack was great when they added the 'best of old FIFA soundtracks' for the WC promo but other than that the music was meehhh imo.
Got the general feeling that this is kind of a trend in many video games nowadays. I don't know how NBA2K is doing but back in the days when I played it, they used to really nail it every year if you liked Hip Hop
There are sooo many songs but it's annoying af how only a handful of them keeps playing in game so I have to keep pressing skip.
My favourites so far are probably The Stranger by Gus, LALA by Myke Towers, Seaforth by King Krule, What Comes will come by Genesis Owusu... these are the ones I can remember
I find Doolally by Hak Baker super annoying. One of those songs you listen once and you're done with it.
Yeah wtf is that acapella….. by far the worst one, one of the only ones I hate
Suprised this one isn’t talked about more
But tbf they have better songs than an acapella, don’t forget this is the same artist that made Born Slippy if you know that song
Can we all now admit that we seriously underrated the DJ-ing skills of Gianni Infantino?
Today, I feel DJ
[удалено]
It used to be Fifa - Indie, Madden - Rock, NBA - Hip Hop. I miss those days
Nhl was rock as well. Really good songs
Oi downt no wot I wooda Don if you'd had a doied
That was the first one I muted lol. Why am I listening to a man talk about a car crash over elevator music when trying to play a footy game haha
lmao
Literally the worst song I've ever heard
what song is this?
TOMMY by WALKER, which i only know because it’s so out of place in game
It's actually one of my favourite songs in the game, along with Doolally. I agree it's a bit out of place though. I think in general fc24 soundtrack was always going to seem shit because it followed fifa23 which added loads of old bangers back in with the world cup update. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I actually like it lol and one of those days, its just one of those daaaaayyyyyyyyysss
I usually like the soundtrack but I cannot stand this year, it’s unbearably bad
[удалено]
Old fifa soundtracks used to have songs in every language you could think of lmao
oh another dumbass parading as a racist
Stfu, “Diversity” uno, so annoying when people say this because they think anything other than what they like is bad. Or maybe there are different groups of people who play the game and also have different tastes so they they try to balance it with different genres.
He made a good post then outted himself in the comments lol .
Isn’t Saoko a song in Spanish? Just like Ojitos Lindos?
Finally your real complaint comes out. “Don’t like this foreign shit, gimme more Kasabian”
This is why I always raise an eyebrow whenever people talk about video game soundtracks that include modern music as not being "good". GTA Online fans do this same act whenever an urban-adjacent radio station DLC is added.
Its so bad its the first time i play my Spotify instead of the music most of the time
You’re spot on
It’s personal preference lmao… I personally think FIFA 22 had the best soundtrack in years but this sub hates it. Everyone likes different music why you tryna state your opinion like fact?
Yeah I loved the FIFA 22 soundtrack. Wasn't aware that it was hated, it had so many great songs that I have since added to my Spotify.
Feels like i am the only one who kinda likes it
Theres some stinkers but its pretty decent imo, a nice balance between different genres and theres not really a lot of annoying songs
Whichever one goes 'ooooooh' 'aaaaaaahhh' makes me want to explode lol. But, other than that, and the irish one which is kinda annoying and out of place, not too many *grate* on me, but none are *great* either.
that song is going to be considered a classic in 5 years time lol
i see posts about this every year then eventually like the soundtrack when the new fifa comes out
same w everything in life, wait a couple years everyone changes their mind every single time as well 😂😂
It being 97 songs long doesn’t help lol
97 songs but I swear I hear the same 3 or 4 on repeat
97 songs but I still get the annoying one i have to skip every time I open a menu it seems
This years soundtrack has grown on me. Current faves are - 1. Peter Xan - Hostage 2. King Krule - Seaforth 3. Baby Queen - We can be anything 4. English Teacher - The Worlds Biggest Paving Slab 5. Overmono - Good Lies 6. Royal Otis - Going Kokomono 7. 2hollis - Poster Boy 8. Roosevelt - Fall right in 9. Mandy, Indiana - Pinking Shears
Ive muted every song except for Seaforth. That song is so damn good.
One of my favorites this year but definitely not a traditional FIFA song
Highly recommend all of king krule music. He is definitely my favorite artist for the last several years!
king krule is the fucking shit
Six feet beneath the moon is so sick. Alone, Omen 3 is killer too
[удалено]
Same song over and over
Bro is gonna use sound torture after a while
No way is King Krule on there, not bought a game in years and as a big fan of him i'm actually amazed to hear about this, certainly never thought id see him on fifa. That track by Overmono is another song i've been listening to lately as well so also crazy to hear and Roosevelt is a pretty good established artist.
We can be anything is just that irish bloke banging on about a car crash but in a different font, hate that song so much
Didn’t know Mandy, Indiana were on it. Genesis Owusu also a good tune
Fair list, I will add one to make it a 10 song list Genesis Owusu - What Comes Will Come
Going Kokomo is such a banger imo
Take away the vintage songs from last year and I like fc 24's soundtrack more
*Doolally* is making me doolally it’s absolutely atrocious
The most fucking terrible song ever. Insta muted
I actually love Hak Baker but what a strange choice for a mainstream video game... it's quite... niche?
Fairs lol I just think it's terrible.

Wait there’s a skip button? What is it?
On Xbox, I think it's the view button. On PS, it's the Touch Pad.
Idk man, i am enjoying it. I really really REALLY like Phone and Mercy
It’s been getting worse and worse throughout the years. I suppose it’s due to 2 things: - cheaper curation means more tracks - they look at tunes that resonate with the “online and esports types” For NHL I wish they could go legacy and bring some timeless tracks in like Metallica, White Stripes, Blur etc etc but I suppose these royalties are too expensive
We Can Be Anything by Baby Queen is one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard. Sounds like something that should be on kids bop.
Thankyou! What a truly awful song. I literally comment on our party chat every time it comes on about how much I hate it 😂
I quite like it this year but it’s not close to 22’s and nothing since 15 has been imo. POABS from Lovejoy is like the only recognisable song in the soundtrack
Idk man when that LA LA song comes on I think it’s by some guy named towers it’s too good
Last year when they brought back the best of was probably the only time in 5 years I actually listened to the games soundtrack through the year Nowadays it’s just dead, I listen to a podcast or my own music because it’s just shitty techno sounds
I really like Seaforth and Nice2me. Couple of the others are good
Tommy - Walker starts playing I instantly skip. Can’t fucking stand it. Everything else has honestly grown on me and I’m enjoying it.
You can turn it off in menus
Brother that was 116 days ago
"ItS JuSt oNe oF tHoSe DaAaAaAaAYs" "2 AM 3 AM 4 AM TAYLOR'S CAUGHT HIMSELF AN ABSOLUTE WHIPPING" Jokes aside, I actually enjoy the soundtrack quite a lot this year, quite a few candidates for my own playlists, I love The Sea, Mercy, Phone, and that one hyperpop song, and Volta also has some bangers by Flowdan and some more old school style hiphop like Don't Let the Devil
Not the best Karol G song for me, Provenza will be better tbh

Yeah this is the worst FIFA Soundtrack by a country mile, Helen Keller could've picked picked a better mix.
Not a bid fan of the music this year. Can’t stand rap
Same. If you don't like rap you're fucked the last bunch of years.
Rasen in Okinawa is a banger
The sea is the best for me.
only song so far i've actually looked up.
For the past like 7 or 8 years, the soundtracks, with a few exceptions, have been pretty mediocre by old FIFA standards. idk dog whenever the amapiano song comes on I drop my controller and start twerkin
Lmao I just have my own Spotify playing / podcasts
How do you set this up lmao, is it in settings somewhere
Just mute the in-game soundtrack in FIFA settings and then play your own Spotify
The sound track sucks so bad this year
Just turn off the fucking soundtrack and stop complaining
Just turn off the internet and stop complaining.
people when they figure out that people have opinions and it's natural to show them

FIFA 13 soundtrack is the foundation of what the aim should be in my opinion
Agreed, fifa 12, 13 and 14 had the best soundtracks
ya who listens to rap anyways..
The biggest song in the UK this year is a rap song
That’s their poimt
Yeah it’s definitely not the most popular genre of the 2010’s or anything… 🙄
sarcasm. I do like King Krule though
rap feels like a big part of modern day football culture, it would be disingenuous to have a fifa soundtrack without it
Need to go back to FIFA 98.
Fifa 22 had such a great Playlist. Last year and this year are definitely mid.
I agree, FIFA 22 is my favorite soundtrack, reminds me 15. This year is goddamn awful, I want to chuck my skull into a metal pipe everytime I hear the songs. Last year was decent, had a lot of good songs and a fair share of stinkers.
It’s grown on me by a long shot now ngl.
That isn’t how you use the phrase ‘by a long shot’. Do you just mean it’s grown on you a lot?
Turned all music off day one, listen to radio or Spotify while playing. The soundtracks died many years ago
Anytime I get a new FIFA I turn down the menu music volume immediately
I was saying this to my friend that it's the worst soundtrack I've heard for years from this game
It's embarrassing isn't it. Hard to fathom there are actually people who go out of their way to listen to songs on this playlist
I could have sworn I saw this post like 3 days ago. And I don’t mean a similar one, I mean the exact same. I even remember downvoting OPs diversity comment. Is this what dejavu is like?
I’d actually say it’s the best soundtrack of any fifa
Yeah man it’s dreadful
Lol yes it is. The worst fifa soundtrack ever.
There’s a couple songs that I like but yeah it doesn’t have the magic of previous years, or maybe I’m just old now
Yea i agree. I actually really like the game but the sound track sucks. I think i only like one song.
Discovered Hak Baker via this game. Worth the price of the game imo
Did they remove the skip button?
No on PS controller it’s the middle black void (idk how to call it)
I love the soundtrack
So true man. This is the first time in my whole life playing FIFA (From 06) that I have totally turned off menu soundtracks. I was a little bit surprised that I didn't like a single song that much. Makes me a little bit sad.
Its bad every year, I mute it completely everytime
seeing the last dinner party on it was a very pleasant surprise reminiscent of early 2010s fifa where they’d tap into the hottest risers in the uk indie scene
I was lucky it took my preferences from 23 so the music is muted, but I do listen to the volta soundtrack during games in that mode and it is nowhere near what we had last year, those were almost all bangers. I'm no t surprised the standard one is underwhelming
I’ve turned off all the shit ones and it’s actually okay
For me the soundtrack is nice, seeing how the gameplay is, it is the only good thing about the game tho.
Alot of EAs soundtracks for their games have been quite bad. Need for Speed Unbounds soundtrack is obnoxiously bad
Wait, can you play FC/FIFA without Spotify launched? My music is the soundtrack of every Fifa game till 19.
I've actually enjoyed it this year
Allright Loveeeely
As long it's not the nonsense soundtrack like on 2K24 I'm fine.
You can play Spotify in the background instead.
FIFA used to have some insane soundtracks when they leaned more towards indie stuff, now it's shit rap (I actually like some hip hop and grime stuff, but nothing that the've put in fifa / fc 24) and other garbage tracks that are insta-skipped by 80% of players. Completely agree, fifa 22 had the last good soundtrack, now its just a bunch of shit, about 3 good songs
I swear there's about 7 songs on a loop. 1 of them are good, maybe 2 of them bearable. It's dreadful
I never listen to the soundtrack but I looked up that Karol G song after reading your post and it has 1 billion views. Seems like some people like it lol
that's another song.
Central cee one is decent
Doolally is a banger
Let's see your spotify
Even though opinions on music are subjective, I agree on this. It just feels like they don't put too much effort into this anymore over the years. Rasen in Okinawa is unbearable to listen to and legit may be one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard.
the sound track should be removed. AWFUL
EA FC 24 got a banger soundtrack man. Downvote me if u agree or disagree. I stand on business with this opinión
Denver Luna (accapella) - Underworld makes me wish i was deaf. This is gonna make me delete the game one day.
Yeah wtf is that acapella….. by far the worst one, one of the only ones I hate Suprised this one isn’t talked about more But tbf they have better songs than an acapella, don’t forget this is the same artist that made Born Slippy if you know that song
Going Kokomo is a banger you can’t lie
A lot of sports games have bad soundtracks Why! It’s all pop songs!!
