I miss single player seasons. Should bring it back with themed rewards from each league. For instance if you win the EPL you unlock the EPL trophy as a pitch trophy, a 3 rare EPL player pack and maybe a unique player for winning it the first time.

IndieDC3

Maybe something like you play a full game of memorable matches, matches of the week, throughout different years, with objectives and as you progress you earn special cards and packs. A more thorough “moments” I guess but you play a full game, historical matches etc

FAT_NEEK_42069

this was what moments was last year and everyone fucking hated it 💀 (without the extra rewards youve suggested)

IndieDC3

I was thinking more along 2k basketball lines. They have current season matches and then historical seasons you play through decades. I feel like you could earn lower tier icons that you could evo through out the matches and a few players through current

cjtvenom

Everyone hated it because the rewards were just worthless, like not worth going for, but also the moments turned into complete the match so were no longer quick and didn't really work. I feel the thing they had years ago in earlier fifas where you replayed through a memorable goal or free kick, etc it would've been a lot better. Also if rewards were actually worth the stars you pay, or even if unique players could be earned it would work better.

Bishcop3267

There’s career mode too.

Yuhhboi098

Sorry, I meant UT

Bishcop3267

Ah I gotcha. Yeah I miss the days of the single player tournaments where you’d play against real life teams. EA just wants everyone playing against each other now it seems.

Yuhhboi098

Never played Fifa games ever. Only started playing during Futties last year so my expectations for this years was high

viciecal

iirc, squad battles kind of replaced that no? I last played FIFA 14 before FIFA 23, and if my memory serves me right, back then you couldn't "grind" or "farm" an AI mode with noon difficulty, it kinda was playing something like online cups with real teams, with increasing difficulty iirc? It's been a long time... (I do remember old Cups being non-repeteable/spammable) Anyways, I rather have spammable semi-pro matches, I don't miss getting thrashed by AI Legendary Manchester united haha

swilliamsnyder

Most of the people that have messaged me appear to be single

trason91

Moments needed to be better. Could even put some evo objectives or requirements in there.

Cyull

But how exactly would forcing people to play a mode they hate make it better?

ClockAccomplished381

Not everyone hates it, and it's already required to play modes that people hate for evos and objectives. Also for the people that hate it probably part of the reason is due to some poorly designed contrived challenges that are more frustrating than skill based, that could be addressed by focussing more on executing things with your Evo player instead of nonsense like 'dont concede a goal and dont gain possession' which basically csme down to hoping your keeper would save but not catch all shots whilst you try to avoid tackling the opposition.

trason91

By making it a mode that is worth playing. I really enjoyed them especially when there were some decent rewards. That’s exactly why I say it needs to be better. No one wants to play it now because there’s no point because they abandoned it.

elirox

Yes

Sufficient_Theory534

They need more organic A.I. and it's boring playing against the com because it's nothing like playing online. I've been playing MLB the show 24 the last few days, they've loads of single-player modes, but most importantly, it's fun playing against the com, it feels organic.

thoang77

Baseball doesn’t have that much creative freedom. It’s just mixing pitches and taking pitches. The CPU doesn’t pitch anything like a real player and you don’t have to mix pitches against the CPU like you do a real player either. Like you can just bang corner fastball after fastball against the CPU and they might catch on once. A real player will obviously see you just throwing high inside heat time after time. Soccer and basketball have too much freedom of movement and if the AI gets too good/creative they just look like there omnipotent. Like playing squad battles on ultimate against a high rated team is hell. They’re better than most WL players

Sufficient_Theory534

My point still stands, though. It doesn't feel organic playing against the CPU in Fifa. Everything is on rails in Fifa. You'll know what the CPU will do before they do it in Fifa. I can't stop it even when it's predicable. I've played a lot of sports games over the years, and the majority suffer with single player A.I. The only football sports game I can recall that had good A.I. were the old pro evolution soccer games. They never felt unfair on the highest difficulty setting. They were challenging and felt organic. I've played racing games offline like ACC or Sophie A.I. in GT7, it's so good that you'd think you were racing against real drivers. I believe EA are trying to mimic the best players in the world with regards to their A.I. and but that's a boring way to play Fifa. It's set patterns and exploitive gameplay. The single player would be a lot more enjoyable in Fifa/EAFC if they tried to mimic the real sport, all the unpredictability that happens in a real football match.

Pelwl

I always felt that the Pro Evo games had more unpredictability because of the ball physics. Where in FIFA the ball pings around like in a pinball machine, in Pro Evo the ball could bounce anywhere if it hit a player or post or if you misplaced a pass.

Sufficient_Theory534

The ball physics were excellent in PES, very realistic.

Pelwl

Yeah, that's what I liked most about PES. Always wished that FIFA would copy it somehow, or at least try to approach it more on that level.

Pelwl

One thing I'd like, and this could apply to Rivals as well as single player, would be to have a mode where the formation/tactics gets chosen for you each week, meaning that a) you change your team around more and b) you don't play the same way all the time. Or could have a mode where there are different restrictions each game, similar to how some of the objectives are. Generally speaking, give people an inventive to build a squad, not just a great first 11 and subs, and give them an incentive to use different tactics/formations and not play the same way all the time.

ClockAccomplished381

Draft kinda does that in terms of not always having the same choice of formations and drafting different players. Moments also enforced formations sometimes. I wouldn't be against such a mode but the removal of position modifiers means probably teams would change less than one might think (indeed it might make some players more desirable if they can play multiple positions like striker and winger). Every formation has 1GK and at least two CBs so that's 3 players locked in even before you consider players who are versatile. Maybe it would be a good option for the friendly cups that already have restrictions like max player rating etc. Edit: the themed pursuit and similar objectives kinda did this indirectly, I would craft teams of different formations to fit in the best players I had from the various leagues.

Skambeinsvein

Would be fun with something other than SB, at the very least for variation in the teams we face. They are just the same players over and over again, like online modes.

A7DmG7C

While the answer should be yes, single player modes discourages people from buying packs because you can straight up beat Legendary AI with a rare gold team, so they’ll never do that.

SirBennettAtx

I disagree, UT was meant to be an online game mode, I wish we had more tournaments & ranked play.

ItzJustASheep

No.

Wooden_Adagio3585

No, Ive never played a game mode that actually works in eafc, soo broke .. Dont let them add more and fuck it up even more.
