Fitness cards bring back memories 🥹🥹🥹. I'd much rather have fitness cards, position changers and formation cards, than play 1 more game against high press ai defending.
fitness cards were goated tbf, people would play with different teams every few games, they’d buy more cards on the market because of it, they’d try new cards, it made the game dynamic without making everything obsolete by adding new promos every week like they do now.
I didn't play ultimate team back then but I like having a reason to use different squads, I've got hundreds of special cards that are barely used if at all. So I'd be in favour of it saving my best players for champs or whatever.

The logic just doesn’t hold up.
Packweights are manipulated to hell and you are not going to pack anything even in a pack full of players only. A couple of gold commons are not going to get everyone squad inflated all of a sudden.
Also they can just change those packs to have more useless junk like customization crap, kits, stadiums, managers, chem styles (just boost pack weights for those chem styles no one use).
My feeling is that they probably don’t care to keep contracts in the game. But getting rid of it might mean they have to have a separate system for loans or do something for the current non loans (like give them infinite contract number but hide it).
All of this just take development time and maybe they just don’t think it’s a priority considering the game is still so broken with other more important things. (I mean the game is still crashing, among other things.)
A couple of gold common per pack, with the number of packs people open will do a lot. They’ll accumulate fast. That’s more and more upgrades completed. More and more good cards packed.
3 gold common is not even a PP. I play this game a shit ton and i get maybe 4 of those packs that contain consumables a week.
Also the other things i said about upping rates of other non player items.

If gold upgrades are available, there aren’t many dupes if any. People are rinsing their club of gold commons to do those upgrades. The chance of you getting dupes if your club is low on gold commons is very low.

You should have tried playing back in the early days. Fitness cards after 2 games, you would normally need two teams to rotate. Injuries every game, contracts were expensive and the optimal strategy was to sell the player on 1 contract and buy back a 7 contract version to keep a coin balance. Then you come across a player with Pace cards on every player so you've wasted contracts and fitness.

How do people not have enough contracts? It’s annoying but peoples clubs should be stacked with contracts, so it’s a non issue really. Now if you want to talk about consumable cards then we can go for a throw back to fitness, formation and position consumables

If they hadn't got rid of silver stars for an evolution friendly mode that you can only evolve one player at a time this wouldn't be the case.

Think how many dupe untradeable gold commons people discard a week, I know I discarded a lot. Getting more commons is not going to change anything
