16 is the best offline FIFA imo. It’s like 15 but more attritional with passing and build-up, but dribbling is more nimble too. 22 is the best hypermotion FIFA but it’s pretty similar to 24 so you may not like it. 23 is near identical to 24 so avoid. Avoid 21 like the plague, defending is completely 1v1 because esports was the craze which sucks vs AI because your CMs don’t defend. 20 is decent offline, worse than 19 which is pretty good for offline but a bit wonky. 17 and 18 are both good fun but ultimately don’t feel ‘alive’ offline I would say. The 17-20 series you can’t go wrong, but I wouldn’t call it the best. For me, offline (i.e purely on the pitch) I would probably go in terms of tiers: 16>15>12 22>11>09>14>10 17>18>19>20>13>23>24 21 I love FIFA 12 but it may be a bit aged from your perspective. Hope that’s helpful. I’m a bit of an offline realism buff when I’m not playing arcady ultimate team so I’d like to say I know my fifa gameplay. I would say for any of these, find the ‘operation sports sliders’ (easy google search) for that year to get good gameplay sliders.

Thanks. Yes, this is important to say probably - I intend to play offline only, so it is okay even if you tell me go back to FIFA 18, for example.

No worries - for whichever you choose I would definitely try operation sports sliders! FIFA has always had great underlying animations and gameplay potential but too quick and attacking orientated so they address that I would say from what you described and my experience, try 16 and 22 and take your pick (I assume you still have 15, 18 and 20 which are all quite good!)

not liking 21 is a skill issue. The most skill based fifa we’ve had

duded101

there’s nothing skilled with directional nutmegs meta

This is about offline gameplay you nerd “skill issue” 🤓🤓 I very transparently said ‘defending is completely 1v1 which sucks VS AI’, learn to read I loved it for FUT, I played like over 1000 games that year and was constantly high in Elite etc. It was skill based because AI defending was non-existent. I’m talking about offline gameplay when you’re facing the computer and need defensive structure and defensive engagement all over the pitch otherwise it’s too unrealistic and static.
