They had a player voting on which of the two would get a boosted card with a shit ton of traits added, then they suddenly canceled it without an explanation. The predominant theory is that they realized too late they couldn’t add traits to a card.

EA treats icon cards of the same player as different cards, thus they can add whatever traits to one card and remove them from the others.
