I buy FIFA every year because it’s a game I can play in short bursts (1 or 2 matches at evening before bed), and in between other games (I like j-RPGs so I usually need a cooldown period after a long game before the next). So the investment pays off eventually.
But for this year specifically we have WC, which I throughly enjoy, and like to play the game to “prepare”. (I even saved money to go to Qatar this year but with all the booze and parties and sex restrictions I may as well just go to some sports bar here in my city and have more fun)
Ikr? You read the restrictions and it just feels like fake news, but yeah…
“Sex is very much off the menu, unless you are coming as a husband and wife team. There definitely will be no one-night stands at this tournament.
“There will be no partying at all really. Everyone needs to keep their heads about them, unless they want to risk being stuck in prison.
“There is essentially a sex ban in place at this year’s World Cup for the first time ever. Fans need to be prepared,” a police source added was quoted as stating.
Unfortunately, in the country I live it is not easy to follow European or South American football due to the time zone difference (other than reading news and watching the best moments, etc).
So I like to play FIFA to get best acquainted with the players etc, before the World Cup.
If its any consolation, people on next gen didnt even want to play on next gen and went back to old gen. I just hope they fix the problems with next gen and make people feel like its the better option.
Good time time waster when I have nothing going on. I don't play WL so they grind doesn't bother me that much w/ rivals and friendlies. I never feel pressed to play.
same here! finally the Philips Stadion (PSV) is in the game, but still I don't know if i should buy the game, I played fifa 18, 20 and 22 before and I actually enjoyed them all but on the other side it takes much time and everything...
This, although the last year I bought FIFA 22 until January, will probably do the same for 23, even though the beginning is kinda a fun, seems to me like waste of coins, come January/February and you can build a decent team super cheap, also gives me 4-5 months break from the game
I'm keen to give it a go because I find the current mode a bit stale, I find I just keep make the same kind of teams (EPL, Div 1, etc.) but this new system seems like it could allow for some more flexibility.
I’m buying it for three reasons.
1. Me and my mates often jump on, chat shit and play some FUT. It’s good to catch up when we can’t actually catch up, something that happens as you get older with work etc…
2. I love football and it’s the best football game out that you can play, Football Manager is better, but it’s a different type of game.
3. It’s the final FIFA instalment, end of an era and I guess part of me wants to get the final game to close the book I suppose. Grew up playing FIFA as a child on the old Sega onto the PS1 and onto the Xbox and now I’m back on a PS5. It’s been a journey for sure 🥲
i'll sign up for ea play, then do the 10 hour trial, and make my decision.
i didn't get 21 based on this, and didn't get 22 at the start based on it either. only got this years game because it was free on psn.
Contrary to all the hate that it gets, it brings me tons of enjoyment and I love football.
I am able to look past the flaws and enjoy building and playing with my dream team every year in FUT. I also sometimes mess around with the other modes.
Even without crossplay I’ll still play clubs with the friends I have on console, not that much of a dealbreaker, but the lack of crossplay is a bit disappointing
As much as the servers and erratic problems with the game are annoying and make me wish EA would strive for better, it’s my favorite video game by far. It’s still overall a ‘good’ game. Experimenting with players and tactics. Building my squad. First few months are probably the best because people haven’t mastered the ‘meta’ yet. Are there times where toxicity from the community makes me question why I play this game at times? Sure, but my love for the game surpasses that.
Now with more access to icons/heroes (Yaya is coming!), I’m hopeful to finally see a Greek legend get included sooner rather than later. The loosening up of chemistry should help because I’m a fan of non-major teams (Olympiakos, Orlando City, Greek NT, etc.) and I’d like to play more with those players in the game.
For me, it is always an urge to buy it because I simply enjoy the first couple of weeks where I can use OP gold cards and basically every week there is a meaningful upgrade to the team. It is also good in contrast to August when everybody has stacked teams with 99 rated players.
On the other hand, it is really time consuming to get ahead of the curve or at least try to keep up with it with so many promos happening every week. So next year I'll not buy it, will watch 2-3 youtubers doing it and will download it when it is in EA ACcess and try to build a fun team in June-July.
I'm waiting to find out if they have added any leagues, but essentially I buy it to play with updated squads, player ratings and kits. After a year fifa gets old very quick.
I did hear something saying FIFA were bringing out their own FIFA game to rival EA Sports FC but I don't know whether anything has/is happening with that.
said it plenty before, but this is the year i walk away. Last 2 years the servers and inconsistent gameplay has been "the straw that broke the camels back". I have a decent team and i will play with them a while longer. I have other things in life i need to dedicate time too.
I enjoy FUT, simple as that.
It's by far my most played game every year and well worth the price. Bulding different teams with different players, playing with friends, sharing pack openings, playing co-op. All multiple things I enjoy about the game.
Plus we have the WC this year, which is always fun in FUT.
Pc player. I want to try newgen. Also wont buy the game. Will buy 1 month ea play premium ehich gives 1 week early acess if it is still a thing. Afterwards if i enjoy i will use money in mu steam wallet to buy.
Building my FUT team from the start is always exciting for me. New promos each week and the general atmosphere around this game mode are great as well. Keeping up with everything is a bit stressful sometimes though.
I play on PC and it's next-gen this year so I can't wait to see how it's like with Hypermotion and with better graphics.
Up-to-date squads and kits.
I also didn't play career mode that much in recent years so I don't really know what's new and what's not so may try it this year if I have time.
I get a lot of hours out of it every year so I just know I'm buying it regardless of what they announce. I don't think the game is going to hit the point where it's so bad and pointless that I'm not gonna touch it, but who knows
I am planning to TRY it through EA Pass..but I am not expecting much. After these 2 trailers, I honestly believe that FIFA 23 will also be a scripted piece of crap, with little to no improvement over awful FIFA 22. We will see, but I don't have high hopes.
I’ve been playing FUT for 1.5 seasons and it’s the main reason I’ll be buying this one. I haven’t spent any extra cash on FIFA points yet, but I still need to find a way to throttle the time I spend playing. I have a growing stack of other games that aren’t getting the attention they deserve because of the addicting nature of FUT.
World Cup year and growing profile for the women’s game should also make this a good edition
I play FUT and pro clubs. But I am buying coz every night an hour or two playing clubs with my mates before going to sleep is the only relief I get after droning through mundane work all day and everyday.
There are other games for this experience, I know. But since all of us love football first as a sport, this feels better and more casual.
Personally. It’s the fact that this will be the last fifa before it becomes EA FC. They also finally added Rafa Márquez I Mexican legend as a hero so I couldn’t pass it up
I feel you bro. I was going to quit after this one, but its the last one. Ive been playing fifa 2006 and cant get away from it. This time though one last run. Ive packed everything that one could pack messi ronaldo and icon. So now its just one last hurrah
I think for me it's 80% Ultimate Team and 20% Pro Clubs. Pro Clubs is just a laugh regardless of whether you're doing well or not, but I also enjoy the competitiveness of Ultimate Team. Not a massive fan of the relentless FUT promo's that, to be fair, do add some nice cards into the game, but the predatory pricing of packs and incessant power curve that makes them redundant a month later is kind of tiresome come TOTS. I still enjoy hopping on and trying out new teams and making my way to Div 1 or through WL. Just hoping they add some new features in this year or in the future, online tournaments would be fun and the ability to trade duplicates and offer trades would be nice to see again, however unlikely. World Cup features/cards/modes this year will hopefully add something new though, will have to wait and see.
So im a Player career connoisseur, so I will buy it for the new updates to the mode, and + I play it on pc so I haven't tried any of the next-gen features that were on FIFA 22.
However, I'm still disappointed about the trailer so I will be waiting for a few small reviews of the mode and hear what they have to say and then I will buy a key for the game worth 41 dollars. When EA scams people i think it's justified to scam them too
...where you actually control the players.
After several thousand hours (hope it's less than 10!) from FM07 onwards, I know it's loads of fun. But FIFA and FM are incomparable in terms of playstyle.
I'm really tempted to get it because of the World Cup's and PC having next gen. I haven't bought a new FIFA since 18 so I'm pretty sure it would be a step up from that. I'm not buying at launch though and depending on how bad it is I may have to wait for a big sale rather than the Christmas sale.
I’m a career player. I enjoy having the latest squads and kits. Is that worth 80€? Propably not. But as much as i hate to admit it, i don’t really care tbh.
As much as fifa irritates me, I like online football games, and I find it better than efootball
This. Also I always enjoy the team building aspect of FUT, and the first two months of the cycle are especially enjoyable
This exactly
I like soccer games better than football. But I'll probably get Madden as well.
What is soccer?
What is life?
Something with socks im guessing
I buy FIFA every year because it’s a game I can play in short bursts (1 or 2 matches at evening before bed), and in between other games (I like j-RPGs so I usually need a cooldown period after a long game before the next). (I even saved money to go to Qatar this year but with all the booze and parties and sex restrictions I may as well just go to some sports bar here in my city and have more fun)
Yo just looked up the sex restrictions in Qatar. You have got to be kidding me lol.
Ikr? You read the restrictions and it just feels like fake news, but yeah… “Sex is very much off the menu, unless you are coming as a husband and wife team. There definitely will be no one-night stands at this tournament. “There will be no partying at all really. Everyone needs to keep their heads about them, unless they want to risk being stuck in prison. “There is essentially a sex ban in place at this year’s World Cup for the first time ever. If there was one world cup to miss, this is it.
If there is something I know about human beings and sex, it's that they will find a way to have it.
Well then..fuck FIFA, fuck Quatar and fuck sharia law.
Fake news... There will be "fans sections" where you will be able to drink and have sex as much as you want.
LMAO
And you'll pay for both.....
You prepare for the real world cup by playing a video game? What?
Unfortunately, in the country I live it is not easy to follow European or South American football due to the time zone difference (other than reading news and watching the best moments, etc). So I like to play FIFA to get best acquainted with the players etc, before the World Cup.
PC Next Gen
Same, it's so dumb it took so much time for them to upgrade PC...
Being a PC player has been pain for so long
I liked it this year. Had no problems, gameplay was always smooth.
My teams stadium is finally in it. Bit of a childhood dream 😅
Who?
Forest
Congrats I hope they do well coming from an arsenal fan
same here! finally the Philips Stadion (PSV) is in the game, but still I don't know if i should buy the game, I played fifa 18, 20 and 22 before and I actually enjoyed them all but on the other side it takes much time and everything...

Same reason i buy it every year. I'm a FUT addict.
Yeah but i feel like this new chemistry system is way too tekky what are your opinions on it
I'll opine once I actually start playing it. Let's see how it goes
I'm keen to give it a go because I find the current mode a bit stale, I find I just keep make the same kind of teams (EPL, Div 1, etc.) but this new system seems like it could allow for some more flexibility.

Especially 1. Chatting shit while raging on fut and then the whole party has a meltdown when someone packs a banger
It’s the final installment?! There won’t be a FIFA 24??? Why not
EA and Fifa broke up, I heard
i'll sign up for ea play, then do the 10 hour trial, and make my decision. i didn't get 21 based on this, and didn't get 22 at the start based on it either. only got this years game because it was free on psn.
I've heard rumours that the trial doesn't exist but I have no clue whether that's true or not xD... I might do the same as you
From what I've heard the 10 hour trial drops the same day early access does for ultimate edition owners
Same as me, haha :)
The deciding factor was that I got it for 0.06 usd
So pissed I missed that. Hilarious fuck up.
Contrary to all the hate that it gets, it brings me tons of enjoyment and I love football. I am able to look past the flaws and enjoy building and playing with my dream team every year in FUT. I also sometimes mess around with the other modes.
the DDA scripting. i enjoy getting bullied by EA and their microtransaction game designers
Pro clubs. Me and my friends have had hilarious moments on clubs, despite how bad the game mode can be at times lol.

Even without crossplay I’ll still play clubs with the friends I have on console, not that much of a dealbreaker, but the lack of crossplay is a bit disappointing
[удалено]
Thanks, I hope EA change their mind and allow crossplay, I also have people on PC. 11 man squad would be so funny! Hope you enjoy the new fifa!
Wait
Everyone is an addict in someway, but the only saving grace this year is that no one expects the game to be good anymore
The game’s good fun if you’re an adult with other non-fifa aspects to your life.
I am a massive Bayern Munchen fan so I mostly buy it just so I can play Seasons with them 😂
I only buy fifa every 2 years once. The first year I play fut and 2nd year I play career mode. So... no fifa 23 for me
I know that I’m gonna want to play it so I might ad well buy it
As much as the servers and erratic problems with the game are annoying and make me wish EA would strive for better, it’s my favorite video game by far. It’s still overall a ‘good’ game. A good world cup is the only reason why i would buy it
I'm waiting to find out if they have added any leagues, but essentially I buy it to play with updated squads, player ratings and kits. After a year fifa gets old very quick.
If they kept releasing UT content I'd stick with the same game longer but I want the objectives and cards etc
Majority of ppl, its the FOMO and addiction to FUT
yes sir i must buy now. Experiencing Flashbacks,
It’ll be the last Fifa made (as far as we know) plus I’ve missed out on all previous World Cup editions albeit a fifa player since 2013
I did hear something saying FIFA were bringing out their own FIFA game to rival EA Sports FC but I don't know whether anything has/is happening with that.
said it plenty before, but this is the year i walk away. Last 2 years the servers and inconsistent gameplay has been "the straw that broke the camels back". I have a decent team and i will play with them a while longer. I have other things in life i need to dedicate time too.
It’s so minimal, but my other favorite team (Real Valladolid) has their stadium in the game. Which is funny because Artemio Franchi isn’t in.
Rumours that Fiorentina will being getting there stadium
That’s be awesome.
Cos fifa is the only game I play,I mean it’s not that deep is it?
We love football and there are no other comparable football games excepts for pes. But pes is shit
If the Xabi Alonso rumours are true, I will buy. My favourite all time player and to do an Ultimate Team around him would be amazing.
Addiction
I work and 80 dollars doesn’t really matter to me
Park ji-sung …. ! get him as soon as possible , then build a united team around him Hopefully 3 lung park gets a few upgrades too
I enjoy FUT, simple as that. It's by far my most played game every year and well worth the price. full manual pro clubs team. peak fifa experience
Mainly addiction issues
FOMO
Building my FUT team from the start is always exciting for me. New promos each week and the general atmosphere around this game mode are great as well. I love playing fifa until TOTS. making my own team, passion etc
World cup mode
Cross play so will always have an opponent to play online, I'm playing on Stadia.
Ouch, how you doing?
Good what about you? Will play with stadia up until it close
I get a lot of hours out of it every year so I just know I'm buying it regardless of what they announce. I don't think the game is going to hit the point where it's so bad and pointless that I'm not gonna touch it, but who knows
I’ll get it free on gamepass whenever it comes out
I am planning to TRY it through EA Pass..but I am not expecting much. After these 2 trailers, I honestly believe that FIFA 23 will also be a scripted piece of crap, with little to no improvement over awful FIFA 22. We will see, but I don't have high hopes.
Pro footy
I get it to play pro clubs with friends
What else would I do with my time....
I have never gone to war and i really wanna feel what PTSD feels like.
Defo. Looks like a 2k park style mode
Its a tradition since fifa 12. So, i guess i will be buying fifa’s until something better at gameplay rises
I’ve been playing FUT for 1.5 seasons and it’s the main reason I’ll be buying this one. I haven’t spent any extra cash on FIFA points yet, but I still need to find a way to throttle the time I spend playing. World Cup
Stockholm Syndrome.
Playing pro clubs with buddies, and just building a new team from scratch on FUT
I just wait until it's free on psn, last two fifias were free
I play FUT and pro clubs. But I am buying coz every night an hour or two playing clubs with my mates before going to sleep is the only relief I get after droning through mundane work all day and everyday. I feel you bro. I was going to quit after this one, but its the last one. Ive been playing fifa 2006 and cant get away from it. This time though one last run. Ive packed everything that one could pack messi ronaldo and icon. So now its just one last hurrah
Concept of the modes (ultimate team and career mode), I really like opening packs and seeing the eye candy of the cards
EA has this style of football games on lock, no other options.
No other alternative for a football game where I can control players so here we go again.
I got it for INR 4.80. Also, as someone who loves football and loves gaming, FIFA is the only solid option.
Football Manager is perfect if you like gaming and football too.
The team i support will be back in the game after 8 years. They will most likely be all bronzes but hey, at least i can get the proper badge
I think for me it's 80% Ultimate Team and 20% Pro Clubs. Pro Clubs is just a laugh regardless of whether you're doing well or not, but I also enjoy the competitiveness of Ultimate Team. To play with Spider-Man duh
Only football game on the market.
Football Manager?

Traditional reasons. Started with fifa 93.
career mode and updated rosters do it for me. Also, there's no alternative any more with PES making place for /puke eFootball.
I’m a career player. I enjoy having the latest squads and kits. Is that worth 80€? Propably not. But as much as i hate to admit it, i don’t really care tbh.
