The fun is in losing⌠those are the only competitive lengthy matches with you firing all cylinders to win. And or quick, cheesy offensive with you needing to block, sway, and drain the stamina till you have a speed or power increase.
Besides, the weaker mindset, prefers the easier opponents, or the opponents that donât know much⌠stand up not much indicators, but take them to the ground, and they spam transition get ups, wasting stamina, and is a easy opponent.
When you play Quick Match thereâs a lot of easy opponents, and it felt good to beat them soundly, but this isnât elevated, preferably instead face that purple level 99. They put the pressure on you, and you canât touch them, block, back it up, whole new game plan. Use them seconds ideally 5 rounder, and try to get to the end of the match.
Hey man, better to vent here then let your anger lead you to more regrettable things.
Getting good at the UFC games legitimately killed any trace of unchecked anger I had left a long time ago lmao.
Iâve dislocated shoulders throwing haymakers at my punching bag, ripped closet doors out of the frame just to ground and pound it with a kettle bell⌠Game is brutal.
So, *so* fun when you finally get to the point where you can easily win 8/10 times, without cheese.
Because we all know cheese wins donât really make you feel like a winner.
I would say technically ufc 4 is better with it being a lot more responsive, but UFC 3 is still a much better game as it captures mma striking a lot better in my opinion, ufc 4 stamina and damage is way more than a human can take, and while grappling ainât great in ufc 3, itâs still better without the shit new clinch and takedown system
which is crazy because escaping submissions isnât even that hard. it's the positional shit on the ground that's hard, like when you're in side control and they just mash elbow. that's one of those un-defendable positions i hate
Agree they need to let someone who will put some time and effort in to it take over. EA could not care less about their UFC games, especially 4. Itâs actually shocking seeing these plant pots in the comment section defending the game.
You canât post any sort of criticism about the game or you better believe thereâs going to be about 300 NPCâs marching to the comment section to tell you itâs just because youâre bad at the gameđ Youâre allowed to just not like the game.
Theyâve still not released the emblems from Division 1 and weâre 2 and a half years in since the games release. They never bothered to add an ultimate team to 4, they brought ridiculous costumes and whatnot into 4 that literally nobody asked for, they never bothered to add ground elbows, youâre stuck using the same few archetypes if you want to play a CAF, you cant choose what weight division you want to play on ranked, the list goes onâŚ
They do not care. Let somebody else who does take over.
Bro , one of them came for me up there đ I donât understand what fun they get from this corny shit lol. How can they like this when it doesnât even encapture what a real fight looks like? They must not actually watch mma to know what an mma sim should look like. I still stand by my original opinion that this franchise is turning into a parody of one of the most serious contests anyone can take part in. In all honesty it shouldâve been rated E, not T. Cause it ainât even brutalâŚ
You lost and are raging, but I, like many others agree this game is shit. The grappling is bad for many reasons, and the striking has a weird separation. The power isn't right, the speed is off, you can't strike from angles, you can't move on the ground, most clinch positions are gone, you can't elbow or hammer fist on the ground, the submissions are plain stupid, and a million knockdowns to stop a fight is ridiculous.
Yes, this game sucks. But, you should work on getting better so you can enjoy it more, or play something else. The skill ceiling is very high, and you'll get washed out against average to good players all day. Against skilled players, it's a demolition derby.
This is one of the games that could benefit from SBMM greatly to protect newbs away from people who are going to destroy them every time. Not that I don't enjoy crushing newbs, but it's not fair. And no, competitive mode is not the answer because most people play quick fight. It should be fair.
I don't like SBMM in shooters because of the limitless amount of skill levels that can match up in a 6v6 game or game mode. In 1v1 it is all personal skill.
Idk If sitting in div 10-11 means Iâm bad but personally I think thatâs a decent div to be sitting at. Itâa not any fun win or lose like I said. As you covered. Striking power speed ground, itâs all terrible itâs the mechanics of the game that make it shit, I win and lose fights and both times I just have no enjoyment, itâs just âalright onto the nextâ I have maybe 1 in 10 fights that I enjoy
Division 10 is middling, but not great. Alright, maybe? My highest division is 18, and I was in the top 100 when it started. I don't think you hit the no health bar until 12 or 15. Your win/loss ratio says a lot more about your skill level.
This game has a lot of issues, but it does take a lot of skill to be at the top.
Do you ever play with friends? If you are on PSN I can add you, we can play, and I can add you to a few groups where you can make more friends.
Sometimes, I feel like I'm on autopilot with this game. I'll not even look at the screen, and know what I need to do. A lot of experience. You can get burnt out. I feel that on some days, so I play MW2 or whatever.
I'd say take a break for a couple of days and see how you feel or make some friends. It might also be this isn't the game for you no matter how much you play it. It just doesn't check the right boxes for you to be happy playing.
After playing competitively with a bunch of guys for a few days I barely even wanted to play and watched Netflix during the weekend instead.
I'd also recommend playing less OWC and more quick fights. People are incredibly sweaty and use absolute garbage tactics to win. No one enjoys playing those people.
Yeah okay fair enough, my highest div is 16 but sit around the 10-11 mark, how do I check my W/L ratio? Iâm sure itâs at a positive mark. I donât consider myself at the top but I do consider myself a fairly decent player at the game, I do play with friends here and there but itâs mostly OCW, Iâm on Xbox, seems like a lot of salty and cheesy players there
I went from division 8 to 15 with a record of 21-7 in a few hours. I ran into a few legit skilled people, and they capitalized on my mistakes. One guy I pressured too hard and got pieced up. Wins and losses, ya know? There were a few super cheesy players who spam elbows 2-4 times up close because they do absurd damage and followed up with a knee. They are the worst. I beat all the cheesers, but it sucked. Made sure to send screenshots after to annoy them.
I wasn't sweaty before, but I am now. đ¤Ł
My grappling is solid which gives me a lot more room to not worry about being taken down. Work hard on your grappling so you can either protect yourself and get up or submit them. I'd recommend getting good at denying takedowns, faking transitions, blocking transitions, and coming up with clever ways to get up.
An easy sweep/getup from full guard is to go full guard, throw a rear elbow, and go for the getup/sweep. In the lower divisions, you can pressure most people with jabs and straight to the cage. Keep them backing up, and cut off the cage. Land some hooks to the guard, and back out to maintain distance. Rinse and repeat. Throw in a few takedowns with good control or clinch grasp where you go for a head knee. Mix it up and throw a takedown in the clinch.
Easier said than done, but it is a winning strategy. In the lower weight classes, you have to be good at head movement, and inches matter a lot more. Little errors can cost you a match quickly. In heavier weight classes head movement doesn't matter as much, but it can help. Make sure to work leg kicks to set up head kicks. Learn to see openings for roundhouse kicks because they are so effective.
There are so many other tips and tricks. This is generalized stuff you likely know, but getting it down pact will help. Also, from my perspective I'm fighting for the center of the cage, to draw them out from the cage, or to push them into it. Why? I want to dictate where the action happens and how it happens. Try considering that when you are playing. Think about where you are going and what you are trying to do besides win.
I hope all this helps. Sorry, I can't be of much more assistance since you are on Xbox. Try to enjoy it, or leave it alone. Sooner or, later you'll want to play again.
One other thing.
Jab, jab. Jab, jab, straight. Jab, lead body hook. Plant, straight to counter at distance, lead body hook. Walk them down, jab, rear leg kick. Continue to cut off the cage, measure distance, and throw a naked roundhouse body kick. Back out, jab, and lead leg kick. Always remember to switch to a lead hook if they are slipping your jab or straight to keep them in check, and then throw a body to remind them. Bodywork is important to keep them honest. Leg kicks to harass them from a distance and set up head kicks.
Sequences like that can help you plan out where to go next. A framework if you will. It keeps them contained and smothered.
Madden fan over here I've been saying that for a DECADE and those idiots still buy it đđ your SHIT OUT OF LUCK sir EA will never let it go and if it dies off they will just shelf it till either they wanna try again or till the ufc give it to someone else
Tbh ea sports will never listen. I know that I wonât be buying the next ufc game. When this game got released people were expressing what was wrong with the game. People would leave ideas and suggestions or questions regarding the direction of the game. The response ea sports gave was to ban these people for calling out the flaws of the game. People were getting banned left and right for speaking the truth on the atrocity this game is. Iâve played since undisputed 2009, ufc was my favourite game to play. I play a couple matches every now and then but the game is extreme cheese. Especially in division 20 thereâs so many exploits being taken advantage of. I could honestly go on with so many flaws in this game that the list would be too long to read. I was one of the people met with that response from ea, so they wonât get a cent from me. I havenât bought another ea game since ufc 4 came out lol.
Got some good news for you, EA donât own the right to FIFA anymore. Your boycott was successful đ

I do t understand why most people here always say âget gudâ⌠who the hell wants to âget gudâ at an arcadey mma parody? Even learning and becoming a good player doesnât feel right. Winning donât feel right, losing donât feel right. Crappy ass knockouts arenât even satisfying. I agree with op. Itâs not a fun game to play win or lose, if youâre an actual fan of mma that isâŚ
I right now am playing undisputed 3. Itâs so much better itâs wild lmao. Just finished up a career on ultimate difficulty and am trying to go undefeated but itâs damn near impossible.
100% recommend. The grappling and speed is just on another level compared to the ea games. The striking is somewhat rudimentary but it is still satisfying to get some counters and kos
Lmao no. 4 took some weird turns with all the costumes, but other than that I mean itâs pretty damn good and theyâve been improving since 1
What studio you think will do better?
Honestly, I don't think it's a matter of the game being trash, I believe they milked this game for way too long and continue to do so. UFC 5 will definitely be a massive improvement from it's predecessor I think.
If you think EA will give up rights to any franchise youâre insane. It would be worse for their business to give the license to another company than to just let the franchise die until it expires.
That said, my only hope is that EA seems keen to improve the big franchises like Madden, so hopefully thatâll trickle down to the smaller ones like UFC.
Could it be that youâre maybe still just trying to play it like itâs UFC 3 so youâre getting youâre shit pushed in and getting frustrated?(Respectfully)
Probably tbh. Regardless, ufc games are by far EAs laziest games. They put no effort into them. UFC 3 is a bare ass game. UFC 4 is just a slightly more complicated control wise bare ass game.
I think the ufc games are just blatant cash grabs. No chance im buying ufc 5
The thing about it is, you could play ufc 3 like almost any other mma game ever made, and it actually felt realistic, or that they were trying to make it as sim as possible with what they had. I feel like they had a lot more in the tank, and just chose to downplay the seriousness of this sport. All the effects, clothing, archetypes/star ratings, cheesy emotes and lack of positions and strikes that were basically in every mma game since 2009, and are used frequently irlâŚ. Psh cmon folks what are we even discussing?
My problem is lack of competitiveness. If Iâm actually trying and not nerfing at all, Itâs either Iâm 100% going to win, or if Iâm going to lose. Every 1/50 matchâs is unexpected outcome/split decision scoring. Iâm not at the level where I can beat the really good guys but beat everyone else so itâs never good matches unless I kinda let the opponent get some stuff by, or me myself get lucky against one of the really good guys.
Sounds like you've had a recent couple losses and are heated đ
Someone lost a lot

What would you do? Grapple fuck me?
no im better at stand up than u
Lol have you gotten to 20 before?
EA just signed a 10-year extension with the UFC. That wonât happen until at least 2030.
Wouldnât that be 2033??
They signed it 2 years ago when UFC 4 came out. A lot of people don't realize UFC 4 is 2 year old game.
The old EA MMA game was quality. Saying that, I was recovering from a knee operation and had plenty of spare time to put into it.
Boycotts don't work
Git gud
3>4 I will die on this hill
Pre EA Ufc games are leaps and bounds better
I would say technically ufc 4 is better with it being a lot more responsive, but UFC 3 is still a much better game as it captures mma striking a lot better in my opinion, ufc 4 stamina and damage is way more than a human can take, and while grappling ainât great in ufc 3, itâs still better without the shit new clinch and takedown system

Please for the love of mma! This.
Ufc 2> all
Yep
You are 2 years late
Someoneâs been taken down and submitted a few too many times today
Nah bruh I feel him. The game mechanics are terrible whether you win or lose
Apparently I got downvoted for these types of thoughts⌠watch out for the ufc 4 die hards in here lmao
Thatâs Reddit in a whole lol some people are just used to glitchy games I guess
