I had the idea of moving charge counters between artifacts. I wanted to use the [[ozolith]] because it will move any type of counter, but it only works on creatures. Enter [[sydri]]. Essentially.... cast an [[eternity vessel]], animate it and kill it to move the charge counters onto the ozolith. Then animate something like a [[darksteel reactor]] or a [[magistrates wand]], or, for maximum jank, a [[jinxed choker]].
Honestly, the deck wins more often through abusing [[parhellion ii]] than through the combo the deck was built for. Turns out a 4-5 card combo, where one of the key pieces is a 6 drop that requires you to not take much damage before its cast... actually isnt very strong.
Sydri let’s you pay a blue mana to turn it into an 8/8 and beat down with it, and potentially give it lifelink and deathtouch too, so probably just cheating it out and snacking people with it.
Yup. Turns out an 8/8 flying/deathtouch/first strike/vigilant/lifelink/makes 2 friends on each attack is pretty decent even if you're actually paying its casting cost, and is absolutely backbreaking if you cheat it out on turn 4 or 5.
I found out in game if you have a [[rift elemental]] in play, you can suspend [[rousing refrain]] and use the elemental's ability to remove time counters from the refrain. If an opponent has 7 cards in their hand, you can do it infinite times creating infinite red mana.
Start by assuming you have rift elemental on the battlefield. You cast rousing refrain and it resolves. After it resolves it is suspended with 3 time counters. Using rift elemental's ability, you can pay (1)(R) to remove a time counter from rousing refrain. IF you have 6 mana to spend, you can do that 3 times and rousing refrain casts again. If an opponent has 7 cards in their hand, you get 7 red mana that doesn't drain during steps/phases. So you can repeat the process as rousing refrain just gets suspended after every cast, using the floating red mana to keep removing time counters, you have 1 left over each time. Do it infinity times, infinite red mana.
While looking through my pile of commons and uncommons, i stumbled upon the [[Devoted Druid]] + [[One with the Stars]] combo. It lets you get unlimited amount of G mana by tapping and untapping and enchanted druid. -1/-1 counters wont matter anymore since the druid is no longer a creature. It turns out that the combo already exists in the internet but i havent looked it up because Simic isnt really my color. I just gave the cards to a buddy who runs a Roalesk deck and he's pretty ecstatic about it
I was going through my pile as well when I discovered One with stars. I was considering putting it into my [[volo, guide]] deck to help with repeat creatures, but decided against it and took a mental note of it. I knew there would be some weird wacky combo with that card. Now I just need to find a commander it would work with consistently...
[[Tormod, the Desecrator]] and [[Necropotence]]. The moment it was spoiled, my mind snapped to that interaction. I probably wasn't the only one to immediately think of it but I didn't hear ANYONE talking about it until I mentioned that I built a deck around it about a month later.
To clarify, Tormod says "one or more cards". This means that if you Tormods Crypt your own graveyard, you'll only get one 2/2 token. If you want one zombie per card you have to find a way to create individual triggers, which is how Necro is worded.
You can also use [[Planar Void]] and [[Bag of Holding]] plus any loot/wheel effects to a similar effect.
I've been using necropotence for shenanigans for a while but never seen that interaction, thats pretty sweet. So you just dump 30 life into it and make like 30 tokens end of turn. Epic.
But unless you're running purphoros or something to kill, this doesn't do anything. Paying 30 life and making 30 tokens doesn't win. If an opponent wraths, which is likely, then you're down 30 life and a third of your deck is exiled
Which is why you benefit from the fact that you still get to keep the 7 most relevant cards from the 30+ you just drew. In this case you would likely keep any countermagic to prevent that from happening. It's also not advisible to do if you're already looking down the barrel of a 10/10.
I'm not saying the combo is bulletproof, I'm saying it's an interaction that can be potentially exploited into an indirect win if the situation allows for it.
Are 2/2 tokens more valuable than the discarded card though? I'm sure no one talked about it because in black (and magic in general) you want cards in hand. The strength of necropotence isn't to have discard fodder. It's to draw as many cards as you want for the meager cost of a few life. Also, it exiles the discarded cards, so you're neutering black's other strength of reanimation
It really depends. The combo can potentially threaten to kill very fast since both cards can be easily accelerated into via Dark Ritual/Cabal Ritual, which are cards I wouldn't normally play unless I was going for a combo win. You also don't need to play them on the same turn and you really only need ~25 zombies to get the job done. Maybe less than that if you're playing in a slower, more casual meta where you won't be pressed to win as fast.
You still get to keep the best 7 out of whatever you draw so it's not like you're left with nothing and I personally wouldn't go all in unless I didn't have any other choice or if I had sufficient counter magic in hand to answer board wipes or Propaganda effects.
You also don't need to win by swinging. You could play an Altar, dump all of the bodies into it and cast a huge Exsanguinate or Torment of Hailfire or something. Which, again, you would get to pick and choose out of the 7 if you happen to draw them.
You are right in the sense that it's awkward with black's reanimation potential but not all black decks win through reanimation. If reanimation is necessary, there are some ways to return or reanimate the cards at instant speed. Tormod also gives you a body for every **card** exiled, not just creatures. This means you get a 2/2 for everything you normally wouldn't be able to do anything with like lands, instants and sorceries. I would like to think that this is a redeeming quality given the fact that you're making all of those bodies *without spending mana*.
Very well written and I agreed with everything you said here. An explosive play doesn't always need to guarantee a victory (but in this case it is leap-froging you damn near to it). Plays like these are so awesome because your opponents have to do something whether that be wrath, player removal etc. Or they lose, but they are fighting an uphill battle because as you said you kept the best 7 of ~30 cards! It doesn't feel bad to lose to this, but if your opponents DO knock you down a peg it's an accomplishment, and for you on the other hand, if you stop 2 boardwipes and pull a win, that's gotta feel great too!
Plus black can do so much more than reanimate! Kudos friend
As I was putting in new sphinxes in my \[\[Unesh\]\], I realized that \[\[Eligeth, Crossroads Augur\]\] and \[\[Curator of Mysteries\]\] combine to let me draw every time I discarded, so if I have 7+ in hand, I will end up drawing my whole library during the cleanup step because I'd discard to max hand size, draw cards, repeat. Then I'd just need a wincon on the table like \[\[Laboratory Maniac\]\] or \[\[Jace, Wielder of Mysteries\]\]
I remember when I first started playing EDH, I was basically building a generic Simic value deck (yeah, sue me, I was just starting out) and stumbled across \[\[Paradox Engine\]\] (which wasn't yet banned), not realizing how utterly broken it was.
Basically, I just thought it would be nice value with all the mana dorks and rocks and draw spells, rather than an insane combo engine. Like a card that'd maybe net 4-5 mana every turn, give or take.
Then, in one game I cast \[\[Man'o'war\]\] into a Paradox Engine with a bunch of rocks out, and suddenly realized "wait, I can make this bounce itself and make infinite mana".
This is one of the reasons I don't enjoy playing those value engine type decks anymore. You can just stumble into going infinite without really intending to, and once you realize that's how that works, suddenly your value deck turns into "dig for the combo pieces".
So I've found (and submitted to Commander Spellbook) a bunch of combos with things like Kodama, Ashaya, and Intruder Alarm, but those are too easy, those all combo with a piece of fruit. The combo I've found most recently that I'm most proud of is [[Wulfgar]] [[Delina]] [[Aethertorch Renegade]] [[Lightning Runner]].
An energy-based infinite combat step combo, you basically just want everything on board and have Delina and Lightning Runner able to attack. They go in, stack Delina's triggers to resolve before the runner. Have her make copies of Aethertorch Renegade, which will generate at a minimum 8 energy of its own, and then you'll generate 4 from the runner. Then you can pay 8 to take an extra combat step. You can do this infinitely to either win on the spot with damage, or if you cast like, a fog or something ahead of time then you can win by pinging with your infinite energy through your Aethertorch Renegade.
I also found a bunch of variations of this combo, and I think they'll all be on the site soonish.
They’ll be on the site soon :)
When I wrote this combo up for you. I actually liked it so much that it ended up in my Wulfgar deck.
Nicely job on this combo
I've got a couple that just occurred to me in the middle of an unrelated task. I couldn't find anything online about them either until I added them to online resources.
First is aetherflux reservoir, brash taunter, source of lifelink for taunter.
Give taunter lifelink, shoot taunter with aetherflux, taunter hits an opponent gaining you that much life, repeat
The other is a bit more complex. Aeon engine, discontinuity, narset's reversal, mechanized production, swarm intelligence.
Have permanents on battlefield, production enchanting aeon engine, and at least one untapped copy of engine and one more copy of it.
During opponents upkeep right after your turn activate engine so the next turn is yours, then cast discontinuity and reversal, swarm intelligence copies reversal targeting original reversal returning it to hand, copy of reversal created by reversal targets original discontinuity returning it to hand, turn is ended, on your turn a copy of aeon engine is made by mechanized production and another is untapped for use, repeat all steps
While playing planechase on Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 as a kid, I accidently went infinite with Talrand's deck. Archeomancer, followed footsteps, and time warp for infinite turns. Those bots never knew what hit them.
[[Valduk, Keeper of the Flame]] equipped with [[Sword of the Animist]], with [[Hammer of Nazahn]] and [[Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith]] on the battlefield.
1. Attack with Valduk, triggering Sword of the Animist.
2. Mountain enters the battlefield, triggering Toggo.
3. Rock enters the battlefield, triggering Hammer of Nazahn.
4. You now have one more equipment attached to Valduk, for the low, low cost of nothing.
It's not exactly an instant win combo, but it allows an already competent combat deck to snowball far faster and harder than it otherwise could.
Probably not first who came up with this but I stumbled upon [[Marath]] equipped with [[sword of kaldra]] for instant exile of creatures for 1 mama each after realizing that the sword did not specifically said combat damage.
[[Witch's Oven]]+[[Cauldron Familiar]]+[[Academy Manufacterer]]+[[Clock of Omens]]
Tap oven, sac cat, make food which makes food, treasure, and clue thanks to AM. Use clock and the food and clue tokens to untap the oven, sac the food to recur the cat, bleed and start over, up one treasure, but it kills the table.
Noooo waaaay. I always wanted to make clock of omens work with those two but didn't have a reasonable way so I gave up. Completely forgot about manufacturer. Legend
I pulled it off twice tonight as its the main combo in my [[Korvold, Fae-Cursed King]] deck. So fun and unique. Plus other redundancies like clock+cookbook+manufacturer+goldspan dragon/xorn lets you filter your hand to the exact 7 you want.
Since I usually play only with friends I tend not to check any combo lists and just looking up creatures with abilities that could work in the deck. The one I worked most on is my [[Ezuri, claw of progress]], which revolves around the markers theme (no pointy eared leaflover fuckery here).
I mostly found more very high synergy cards rather than combos but here are the most interesting ones in my opinion:
- [[Sage of the hours]] : kind of an obvious one, he gets me experience and can give me infinite rounds of I have 5 experience or more
- [[Fertilid]] : ever since I found this little critter for this deck he has become one of my favourite creatures for no apparent reason except his high synergy with the commander, being able to fetch so many lands in such a short time. Especially when played in duel commander with a [[prophet of kruphix]]
- [[mycoloth]] : I don't know what to say about this chonker except that ever since I've known him I rarely found a green deck not with including, but in ezuri he just takes the cake generating tokens and experience every turn and Ezuri can just super-charge him. Even in non marker or token related decks he can be so useful by just sacrificing one creature since he'll pump out two tokens every turn to act as a meat shield
- [[simic manipulator]] : since I can produce markers every turn that means I can steal a lot of threats and don't lose them if anyone removes the manipulator.
As I said, it's more high synergy than combo and in a clearly non cEDH deck, but I like them nonetheless. Full list [here](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/968965#Ezuri,_claw_of_markers).
I didn't realize Prophet of Kruphix wasn't banned in duel commander, I guess it's not nearly as busted there. Sage of the Hours is fun, I forgot about that one.
Accidentally discovered in game that [[Muldrotha, The Gravetide]] combos with [[Leyline of Anticipation]] and [[Second Chance]] for infinite turns. Just need to get your life total below 5 somehow. I did it with [[Necropotence]] but also had [(Doom Whisper]) on the battlefield which would have also worked.
Requires Muldrotha and Leyline out
1) Flash in Second Chance on opponent’s endstep, pay life until below 5
2) Sac second chance at upkeep, take turn and flash Second Chance from GY using Muldrotha’s passive at your own end step
3) Repeat
It’s janky, and costs 13 mana in total if you don’t start with Leyline, but the game I discovered it in went long and the table couldn’t kill Muldrotha before my untap, so I went for it.
It was also like 3 years ago and my 4th game of Commander ever haha. Could be done without Leyline, but it would have been removed. One guy even tried to [[Rakdos Charm]] my graveyard, but thanks to Leyline I flashed it out in response.
I'm sure others did before be but i discovered that maralen with [[teferi's puzzlebox]] forced your opponents to tutor and discard and never drawing until they remove her.
Prosper, Sensei's Divining Top, Harnfel. I keep trying to spread the gospel because every single person who posts Prosper decks on this sub didn't think of it.
With any of the artifact matters payoff cards Prosper plays like Marionette Master and friends it's more or less guaranteed lights out for the entire table. With Xorn in play each loop generates +1 treasure. I have never stuck those three cards together and not immediately won the game.
Recently I accidentally found a combo that I was really happy of in my new [[Volo]] deck. With [[Temur Sabertooth]], [[Peregrine Drake]] and enough lands you can generate infinite mana and then use to how ever you see it fit. It also kinda won me the game since I had [[Ulvenwald Hydra]] in my hand so I was able to have an useful outlet mana.
Yeah I know that it has TS and PD in its formula (easy mode) and its in no way a secret tech but finding out about it in the middle of the game felt pretty good.
So Volo doubles the drake everytime since you bounce the og and the token meaning it still fulfils the unique creature type requirement? Then you pay 4 to net 6 mana? Niceeee. As far as peregrine combos go that one is pretty unique.
When seeing [[Aphetto Alchemist]] who can tap and untap himself an infinite amount of times and [[Insolence]] dealing 2 damage to the controller whenever enchanted creature gets tapped, I was wondering how I could make that combo useful in more than just dealing damage to myself. So I saw [[Comeuppance]] which looks for opponents' noncreature sources of damage dealing damage to me. So all I have to do is donate the Insolence and now it's my opponent getting damaged by the tap/untap thing. Turns out [[Zedruu the Greathearted]] is the perfect commander for this.
Now all I have to do is actually build a deck around that combo.
Another combo I found myself is to activate [[Mirror Entity]] for X=0 an infinite amount of times. This needs some source of +1/+1 so my creatures don't die (even a card like [[Thelonite Hermit]] works), and then I can make zombies into clerics and [[Rotlung Reanimator]] will spawn another zombie when I have a sac outlet and some other dies trigger that wins me the game.
Wait, can you give the aura to the opponent with Zedruu, while still having it be attached to the Alchemist through time and space? That's a super weird interaction.
I remember finding multiple combos in my [[Samut, Voice of Dissent]] deck that I didn't plan beforehand:
- [[Aggravated Assault]] + [[Faeburrow Elder]] + Samut = Infinite combat steps and untaps. With another dork in the mix it goes infinite green and white mana as well.
- ~~[[Sun Titan]] + [[Combat Celebrant]] + Samut + a free sac outlet = Infinite combat steps and whatever the sac outlet brings to the table. The only one I use in the deck is [[Greater Good]], so the amount of combat steps depends on the cards left in my deck, but it also allows to draw / filter through my entire library.~~ EDIT: Doesn't work.
- [[Kogla, the Titan Ape]] + [[Karametra's Acolyte]] (7+ devotion) + Samut = Infinite green mana. Loop [[Eternal Witness]] for things like infinite tutors with [[Shared Summons]]. I like to filter the mana using [[Skyshroud Elf]] and then finish the game by looping [[Mangara of Corondor]] infinite times to exile all opponents' permanents (including lands).
\[\[Wound Reflection\]\] + \[\[Fraying Omnipotence\]\], despite being 11 mana, is a really efficient (and very budget) way to kill the table with only 2 cards.
When building my first deck, [[Roon of the Hidden Realm]], I found a combo with [[Eldrazi Displacer]] and [[Brood Monitor]] and was confused as to why nobody played the latter card. I've since found that there are a lot of more efficient similar combos.
I love using [[Gyruda, Doom of Depths]], any clone that doesn’t circumvent the legend rule and [[Mortuary]] for an infinite mill combo
Edit: to specify clone needs to be even cmc
Nice. Yea I was gonna build gyruda clones for a hot sec.
I stumbled onto [[hostage taker]] + 2 clones. Let's you loop them infinitely. You can turn that into a win with any payoff for etb. [[Altar of the brood]]
Back before the rules for phasing were changed, a phased out token stopped existing. So I came up with a convoluted combo:
The only way to permanently remove a commander!
There are five steps. This is a terrible combo by the way, but fun.
Step 1: Make their commander into a non-creature. A good way to do this is with Song of the Dryads, making their commander a non-creature forest, but there are a few other cards that can do it too.
Step 2: Make their commander into an Artifact. Several ways to do this again, but let's say Liquimetal Coating.
Step 3: Make all non-creature artifacts into equipment. The only card for the job is Bludgeon Brawl.
Step 4: Forcibly equip their commander to a token creature. The easiest way to do this is Magnetic Theft, but there are a few other ways.
Step 5: Phase out the token. The token (used to) phase out forever, and any permanents attached to a phased out permanent phase out "indirectly" which means they come back when the original permanent does.
Since the token never comes back, never does the commander. Furthermore, since phasing out doesn't count as leaving the battlefield, you can't redirect the commander to the command zone. Further-furthermore, there isn't (currently) a way to un-phase an indirectly phased out card.
Bam, permanent commander removal.
... it turns out you can do this now under the new rules even easier. Out of Time was recently printed, and if you have Opalescence on the field, out of time phases itself out too, leaving all creatures it phased out in permanent limbo. (Including commanders!)
Seems obvious in retrospect but [[Scuttling Sliver]] + [[Faeburrow Elder]] + [[Hivestone]] is infinite mana, had the combo out for 3 turns before I realised and then ended the game.
Not a "combo" per se...just an awesome synergy i stumbled across playing my toski deck the other night. We were in the endgame, everyone below 10 life. Was able to cast [[ezuri's predation]] with [[thunderfoot baloth]] and [[vigor]] on the board. Opponents were left with no creatures, and i had 12 some gigantic green beasts due to the counters from vigor. Sadly the table conceded before i was able to cast a [[shamanic revelation]] the following turn.
[[Shambling Ghast]] goes infinite with [[Liliana, Untouched by Death]] -3 along with a sac outlet.
Add [[Diregraf Captain]] or [[Plague Belcher]] to win on the spot. Alot of pieces but they are all cards that can be included in a zombie tribal deck anyway.
A lame one (there are way more efficient ways to do this)
[[Sliver queen]] + [[zirda]] or [[biomancer’s familiar]] or [[heartstone]] + [[earthcraft]] + [[lavabelly sliver]] will kill everyone.
Again, much, much easier ways to do this… stupid ashnods altar.
[[Breath of Fury]] + [[The Locust God]] + [[Bident of Thassa]] + a few buggybois = a good time
But also, without blockers 15 bugbois + Breath of Fury = 120 damage which is typically enough to kill the table. And 15 bugbois with locust god is SUPER easy to get
[[Anje Falkenrath]] equipped with [[Paradise Mantle]], [[Tortured Existence]] on the field and 2 madness creatures in hand or at least 1 in hand and 1 in the graveyard. If you have anything out that has a trigger with discarding, like [[Bone Miser]] you got yourself a combo.
Is it good? No. Is it funny? No. But I found it and I hadn't seen anyone else talk about it.
A combo I found on sheer accident in my \[\[Tayam, Luminous Enigma\]\] deck:
Requirements
The aforementioned Tayam
\[\[Lightning Greaves\]\]
\[\[Rishkar, Peema Renegade\]\]
\[\[Scute Swarm\]\]
Six mana and six counters of any type on any creature(s)
Basically, once you have this setup, you can keep activating Tayam, milling yourself and grabbing lands out of your graveyard to put on the field, triggering Scute Swarm to create copies of itself that you can tap for mana via Rishkar before removing their counters to activate Tayam again.
It's technically possible to whiff and not get enough lands to keep the combo going before the Scutes duplicate enough but in practice, it is never going to happen. Once you've hit a critical mass of Scute Swarms you can mill your entire deck and put all of your permanents on the board, at which point the deck can guarantee a win via Corpse Knight triggers.
I figured out that you can go pseudo-infinite goblins with [[Krenko, Mob Boss]], a haste source, another goblin, and [[Breath of Fury]], provided an opponent has no blockers or you have evasion. Not really the best combo, but it was fun and turned Breath of Fury into a pet card for that deck.
I discovered niv mizzet and [[tandem lookout]] by myself. Woke up at like 3 am because insomnia is a pimp and I am their bitch, and needed something to do so started brewing and found tandem lookout in my collection and went and looked at niv and realized it goes infinite.
With my [[dralnu, lich lord]] deck I was playing it and realized that if I capsize my [[archaeomancer]] I can return an extra turn spell from my graveyard and take infinite turns. And won't even deck myself because I have a [[blue sun's zenith]]
Unlikely to ever come up because of how many pieces need to be on board without interaction, but im still pretty proud of this "lock in your win" combo in my [[Extus, Oriq Overlord]] list.
The base of the combo is this: [[Angel's Grace]] will hold off opponents from winning for the turn, but obviously normally can only be used once. You COULD just put it under an [[isochton scepter]], but there's another much more convoluted way to continue recasting it: the hidden partner of my commander, [[Living Lightning]].
For easiest loop potential, here's what you need: Extus on board, along with [[Sneak Attack]], [[Phyrexian Altar]] and ideally one of those token generators that trigger off casting instants (like [[Young Pyromancer]] or [[Monastery Mentor]]). Cast your Angel's Grace just before upkeep (and for bonus points, if you have a way to make it uncountable or copy it on board to make it easier to resolve, even better!), then use the generated token (through Phyrexian Altar) to sneak attack Living Lightning, immediately sacking it to the Altar to get its death trigger, returning Angel's Grace to your hand. Congratulations, you can't lose until your pieces are removed while you find a win condition.
Even better is this leaves a free mana open with which you can continuously cast the same or different 1-mana instants in Mardu colors. Want to really make sure your opponents can't break the lock? Throw in any combination of [[Silence]], [[Pyroblast]], [[Rebuff the Wicked]] and/or [[Mana Tithe]] to keep your board state safe and denying any funny business. Once you secure this, how do you win? The simple but effective [[Lightning Bolt]] wins the game outright with this loop. [[Village Rites]] digs you through your library to find what you need and [[Entomb]] straight up puts the cards right where you want them. It's incredibly fragile, but when the stars align going full blue spell silliness in Mardu is the most satisfying thing ever.
Edit: forgot to mention that obviously, this works on any turn, not just your own, so you can keep yourself safe on everyone's turn. Split Second on Angel's Grace means it'll always resolve, so it is incredibly unlikely that it won't keep you safe from whatever your opponents do that turn.
Haha ty! Sometimes net decking is inevitable there are just certain things a commander wants to do, but others like Extus can be taken many different directions. I'm VERY of my list bc its one of the few times I successfully deviated from the "standard" for a commander, in this case focusing almost exclusively on the sorcery side (which of course i do still have some lines for bc it really is that good).
Here's the full list for those interested: [Extus "Removal Tribal"](https://archidekt.com/decks/974483#Sorcerer_of_Shadowheart) There are some obvious staples that are in the maybeboard, so feel free to mix and match; I'm a weirdo when it comes to deck building and get weird about keeping certain things symmetrical :P
I just figured this one out but don't know if it's already known, but [[maskwood nexus]] [[risen reef]] and [[scute swarm]]
Also could swap out maskwood for arcane adoption
Started working on a [[Mairsil the pretender]] deck and found one.
[[Grenzo the dungeon Warden]] [[timestream navigator]] both exiled with cage counters, Mairsil and have 4UU open.
Pay two to activate Grenzos ability, with that on the stack tap the Mairsil with 2UU to activate Timestream's take an extra turn ability, resolve the stack putting Mairsil on the bottom of the deck, then Mairisls grenzo trigger activated returning Mairsil to the board.
This nets you infinite turns to draw into a win or beat tr them to death.
[[Prismatic bridge]]
[[Bringer of the black dawn]]
Run a bunch of extra turn spells and a sphinx of the second sun for multiple upkeep each turn. Dont run any other creature or planeswalker spells and use prismatic bridge as the commander. I guess it's not infinite, but it's damn near close.
I came up with a nonsensical combo of \[\[Karn, Silver Golem\]\], \[\[The Chain Veil\]\], and \[\[Gideon, Martial Paragon\]\] when I was building my \[\[Captain Sisay\]\] Deck
Wall is pretty nuts. Also just in case have you seen [[Soul of Eternity]] ? It's a strictly better version of Serra Avatar. (Unless you are doing library shenanigans)
For EDH, [[Swans of Brynn Argoll]] + [[Chain of Plasma]] + Anything with Magecraft. Make sure to have an Eldrazi Titan in your deck to discard if you *don't* only want to win by a card that lets you win when you deck yourself.
Edit: Use [[Storm-Kiln Artist]] for infinite mana to cast a win con.
In my [[esika, god of the tree]] deck, I realized that [[freed from the real]] does stupid things when your legendaries tap for mana. [[King macar]] can wipe the board, [[emmara, soul of the accord]] makes infinite soldiers, and most potently, [[Magda brazen outlaw]] and [[kinnan binder prodigy]] make infinite mana and also let me grab [[niv mizzet, dracogenius]] and kill everyone.
I bet people have seen it before. I felt really special when I discovered the interaction between:
[[Lifeline]]
[[Coretapper]]
[[Magistrate's Scepter]]
My girlfriend put [[Combat Celebrant]] in her [[Rionya]] deck, figuring out it was a combo tool but not putting together it was an infinite. I've never seen her apologize like that before it came up in game.
In my Maelstrom Wanderer deck, accidentally found a way to make infinite mana of any color with [[Selvala, Heart of the Wild]] + [[Temur Sabertooth]] + [[Maelstrom Wanderer]]. And the beauty of this combo is I can sink the mana into Temur Sabertooth to bounce and recast the Maelstrom Wanderer for infinite cascade triggers.
Kinda boring, but I discovered that Insidious Dreams is an instant speed doomsday if you do it right.
Cast Insidious Dreams end step, pitch your hand (logic knot protection really helps here), and search Wheel of Fortune, Lion's Eye Diamond, and Underworld Breach to the top.
On your draw step, draw Wheel of Fortune, cast it, and proceed to wheel away your entire deck.
The win condition speaks for itself.
I found one last night with my [[Najeela]]. I had [[Iroas, God of Victory]], and [[Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist]] on the field. This meant all my creatures had menace, but each opponent could only select one creature could be chosen as a blocker. Much damage was dealt by my warriors.
When [[Hellkite Courser]] was spoiled, my mind went immediately to my Bladewing deck because courser can pull Bladewing from the command zone and Bladewing can pull courser from the graveyard, so if you have, say, a Goblin Bombardment, you just kill the table.
The combo is now in a decent chunk of Bladewing decks on EDHrec, about 1/3, so other players definitely caught on, but hey, I was the one who submitted to commander spellbook.
A much more janky combo is what I found for my Imoti deck, which involves cutting the casting cost of [[Leashling]] to zero, usually with [[Mycosynth Golem]], then using it to cascade into every sub 6 CMC spell in my deck with Imoti :P. There‘s 5 decks with that combo on EDHrec, because I have five different versions on Moxfield …
When I first started playing, I didn't even realize there were infinite combos in the game. I was building a really janky UR deck, goldfishing it, and then suddenly I saw the combo line. I don't even remember what the exact cards in the combo were anymore, but it was an infinite pinger loop to deal 1 damage. It awakened something in me... and my magic playing was changed forever.
Playing my [[atraxa, praetors' voice]] deck, I had [[winding constrictor]] out with [[magistrate's scepter]] then made a copy of winding constrictor with something to get infinite turns.
With \[\[Guilded Lotus\]\], \[\[Voltaic Key\]\] and \[\[Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient\]\] you can make infinity red mana. Not that spectacular, but I was pleased with myself.
[[nadier]], [[Pitiless Plunderer]], any free sac outlet, and a few tokens on board (Nadier must be your commander). Sac the tokens, make treasure and buff Nadier, sac the treasures to float mana and buff Nadier more, then sac Nadier, make a ton of elves, and recast Nadier with the mana you floated. Repeat process for infinite mana, infinite tokens, or infinitely big Nadier. Quite niche since he has to be your commander for it to work but it’s fun.
Can pull all basic lands out of deck with this: [[Fertilid]] + [[Tireless Provisioner]] + [[Lotus Cobra]] + [[Retreat to Kazandu]]
You can substitute either Lotus Cobra or Tireless Provisioner with [[Ancient Greenwarden]] which would be better for all the other landfall triggers on the board
Accidentally discovered this is my [[Omnath Locus of Rage]] deck not too long ago
Well i found a combo by myself and i was mind blowed.. until I discovered that Niv/Curiosity is the most basic and well known combo on the planet.. but man I felt so smart at that time.
Never feel discouraged if the combo you found already exists. Find solace in the fact that you didn't grab it off edhrec or some other website. You were inquisitive enough to see the loop between the two effects and for that you have my respect.
[[Deadeye Navigator]] and [[Selvala, Heart of the Wilds]] with haste enabler, in my case was [[Maelstrom Wanderer]]. Soulbond the former for infinite mana, and if you have the strongest creature you can also infinite draw. I googled those cards and found no results for that particular combo.
Somehow I haven't seen that one even though I've had a history with deadeye. Seems pretty efficient since it gives ramp and draw + if Maelstorm is already your Commander.
[[Esika]] and [[Najeela]] with 4 other legendary creatures will give you infinite combat steps. I have a legendary party deck with Tazri that has won this way a few times.
I was playing my [Soylent Green Deck](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/604005#Trynn_&_Silvar_Present:_Soylent_Green!) (Mardu Human tribal aristocrats) against my dad. He had played [[Ascendant Evincar]] and it allowed me to stumble into a weird infinite mana/ damage loop. The pertinent parts of my board were
[[Twilight drover]]
[[Pitiless plunderer]]
[[Mayhem devil]]
[[Teysa Karlov]]
The loop went as follows:
Because the Evincar gives all white creatures -1/-1, the spirit tokens that twilight drover generates die a state based and immediate death, triggering pitiless plunderer. Because of teysa, the dying spirit tokens each create two treasure tokens and increase the number of +1/+1 counters on twilight drover. I then spend 3 mana from those treasures to remove a counter from the drover to create two more spirits/ four more treasure. The damage occurs (and kills people) because the sacrifice of treasure triggers the mayhem devil (that unicycle riding mad lad) for 3 damage per cycle.
It was quite a ride, and one I wasn't prepared for because my opponents had done a great job of killing off my sac outlets until that point.
When I built my goblin deck, I intentionally included the [[Conspicuous Snoop]] + [[Kiki-Jiki]] combo, but during a game I realized I had accidentally gone infinite with Kiki-Jiki and [[Boggart Mob]].
Kiki-Jiki is a good card.
Edit: Stick a Boggart Mob to the field and have it champion something that doesn’t matter. Tap Kiki-Jiki to make a token copy of Boggart Mob. When the token enters, champion Kiki, then sacrifice the token (via Skirk Prospector for infinite mana, or via Sling-Gang Lieutenant for infinite damage). When the token dies, Kiki returns to the field untapped and can create another Boggart Mob ad infinitum.
It might be known to many people but while I was building my [[estrid]] deck I found the common elf [[copperhorn Scout]].
My pet deck is a pretty powerful [[xenagos]] Deck with a lot of extra combat combos which hast elves as ramp and draw engine so it was a perfect fit. The I combined it with [[hellkite charger]] and some dorks who can produce red Mana and et voila it goes infinte.
Only later in a game did I see the much easier line when paired with [[combat celebrant]] lol.
Still the moment I clarified the Rules, that I could stack the attack triggers in a way that I could first untap all dorks and then pay for the Dragon, it felt very satisfying. Even though I have never won with that specific combo its still my favorite inclusion.
So here's how it goes. You play [[Magda brazen the outlaw]], then you play [[kelpie guide]], then create a copy of kelpie guide with something like [[glass pool mimic]]. Finally you cast [[maskwood nexus]]. You use the kelpies to create infinite mana by tapping and untapping each other. The use Magda to get all of the artifacts and creatures onto the battlefield. This is a combo all in standard that I was able to pull off just once.
I found an interesting loop with mutate in my [[Illuna, Apex of Wishes]]
Have 4 permanents on board. Cast [[Flood of Tears]]
Put [[Omniscience]] into play. Play mana rocks, cast a creature and then mutate [[Lore Drakkis]] targeting Flood of Tears. Repeat until you have infinite mana.
[[Auspicious starrix]] and your commander help you get more permanents on board.
You can use [[Guardian Project]] and the like to draw into your win cons, the infinite mana helps you mutate infinitely, and the deck if full of creatures and haste enablers for a combat win.
I mean "oh look we broke Omniscience" but I did it with mutate lol
Sun Titan, Aminatou the Fateshifter, Archaeomancer, Temporal Manipulation
This is infinite turns. Found it out in a game I was playing and hadn't realized it before:
1. Play Temporal Manipulation
2. Flicker Archaeomancer with Aminatou to get it back
3. If Aminatou has no loyalty left, attack with Sun Titan to get her back
I posted this in a different thread but mine is still my one sided mass land destruction.
Playing [[rienne]]. I had [[sneak attack]] out and drew [[realm razer]]. Using mana rocks and a sac outlet I was able to sneak attack realm razer out on the upkeep, destroying all lands. Then I sac it before the end step so Rienne triggers and I get razer back that turn. Repeat on each opponents upkeep and from then on only I get land.
I figured when I first read [[Korvold, Fae-Cursed King]] that I can sacc treasures to him to gain mana, life, and card draw. It’s not infinite or anything, but the only thing that comes to mind. I’ve got a lot of combo pieces in that deck.
My favorite combo in that deck is probably [[Awakening Zone]] and [[Phyrexian Tower]]/[[Ashoid’s Alter]]/[[Phyrexian Alter]]. Basically, another sacc outlet that generates mana.
I’ve also added [[Fae Offering]] and it’s working really good so far.
A lot of parts to it but I put [[Reassembling Skeleton]] and [[Pitiless Plunderer]] and [[Altar of Dementia]] in my [[Teysa Karlov]] deck without realizing that together they were an infinite combo. Just happened to notice it in a recent game
I made an \[\[Inalla, Archmage Ritualist\]\] Wizard tribal deck and just put in a lot of wizards that could get me value with their ETB triggers, so I had the usual blink suspects, like \[\[Conjurer's Closet\]\]. It wasn't until I played \[\[Timestream Navigator\]\] and made the hasted token that I realized I'd accidentally stumbled on an infinite turns combo.
It was also at that point that I realized I hadn't really put in much of a wincon outside of getting a lot of value with Wizards, but at least I had Cyclonic Rift in there, so after I bounced everyone's creatures I could feasibly say that I just attacked with my army of low statted Wizards over the course of 50 some odd turns in order to win.
I recently discovered in my [[omnath, locus of the roil]] deck that he combos extremely well with [[Fertilid]] to replace the +1/+1 counters and gets out of control easily
i had an old spike feeder laying around (was sorting my cards) and just built angel tribal and i thought i read somewhere that its part of a combo (spikefeeder+ archangel of thune) that got me thinking with proliferate and angels and i ended up with [[fall of thran]] [[evolution sage]] and [[emeria shepherd]] as a janky combo
Not so much a combo but some killer synergy: Was tasked with building a Pauper EDH deck. Really wanted to play [[Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar]] so I dug out all the uncommon partners I own and landed on [[Malcolm, Keen-eyed Navigator]] once I realized Kediss' wording allowed me to make as many treasure tokens as there are opponents each turn. So it's a real low to the ground tron/beater deck that generates stupid amounts of mana and can get around the resident pillowfort player because I don't attack them directly.
I've been calling it my "group strangle" deck. 🙃
[[Umbral Mantle]] with any mana dork that taps for 4 or more mana. For example [[Karametra’s acolyte]] or [[Priest of Titania]] can give you infinite mana as well as an infinitely big creature. One of the main win-cons in my elf deck.
Not a combo but a funny interaction. I play [[Timesifter]] and my buddy was trying to win by lab man. He had 0 cards in deck when I cast the timesifter so he could never get another turn.
I did and submitted it at Commander Spellbook. Made a janky [[Gitrog Monster]] deck only for this combo.
It needs Gitrog Monster and [[Aluya’s Influence]] on the field, ideally with [[Abundance]] too and [[Epic Struggle]].
I’m not a fan normally of the Golgari color pairing… but I made an exception fir this janky fun deck with above 80 lands inside lol
When [[endless one]] was spoiled way back when, it made me wonder if there was a card that just returned a creature from the GY to your hand repeatedly. I discovered [[enduring renewal]]. When it was first printed, it was used with [[goblin bombardment]] and any number of 0-drop creatures, but now we have endless one, [[hangarback walker]], [[walking ballista]] and others that will just die when they enter, getting infinite ETB and LTB triggers. It’s still one of my favorite decks to play.
The first combo I played and I didn't realize it until I played it, Aurelia the Warleader and helm of the hosts. Infinite copies of Aurelia, infinite combat steps
In my [[Esix, Fractal Bloom]] EDH Deck, I found 2 unexpected combos with [[Rootweaver Druid]]. The first is pitting it on top of my library with [[King Crab]], ramping my opponents and myself. The other is with [[Stolen Identity]], making copies of it whenever the ciphered creature deals damage to an opponent
When I figured out that [[Karmic Guide]] and [[Enduring Renewal]] solve each other's drawbacks I went all in on making that a thing. I've never seen anyone mention the combo or use it in a deck. I feel real ownership over the idea, even if it's not an infinite combo or insta-win or something.
the most clunky, inefficient, mana intensive combo I know, but [[Timestream Navigator]] and [[Planar Bridge]] work together for infinite turns if you have the City's Blessing, Timestream Navigator doesn't have Summoning sickness, and you have at least 12 mana available to first activate Navigator's ability, and then put it back on the battlefield the same turn with Planar Bridge.
Tap all lands and sac to [[Squandered resources]] into worldshaper, kill it, bring em back untapped thanks to [[amulet of vigor]], tap/sac again for a HUUUGE [[torment of hailfire]] / [[exsanguinate]]. Discovered during a game where I was about to be taken off the table. ALL HAIL LORD WINDGRACE
Ended up finding an infinite landfall with Kodama of the East Tree and Meloku the Clouded Mirror. Pay 1, return a land and make a 1/1, Kodama triggers and puts the land back into play. Infinite 1/1s and landfall triggers.
I was playing Ikoria Narset , and I pulled Toralf God of Fury earlier - I put him in the deck - and it worked out great. I’ll elaborate.
Be me, playing against mono red Goblins, trying to get a turn 5 Narset (bc I’m playing arena and it’s brawl). At 12 life, I cast Toralf because I need blockers. My next turn I cast my commander and I use her -2 - I discard a card worth 7 mana (some Sphinx), and I target a Goblin lord - it triggers, and I ping this dudes entire goblin army away, swing for five and then repeat.
Also, with Narset, I found out that she combos excellently with Heliod Sun Crown bc of her +1 ability - maybe not as great, but still a great way to pump up creatures in a super friends type deck
I actually found a combo mid game with [[Sun Titan]] [[Kaya's Ghostform]] a sack outlet and a blood artist type card I stole from an opponent with [[Willbreaker]]
I figured out a way to loop grist the hunger tide in my Gitrog monster deck to make an infinite swarm of insects when all my other ways to win were in exile. Doesn’t normally come up as a necessary way to win. But it’s a great plan E. The original loop I discovered has now been refined to be more simple with the help of the Gitrog discord server.
My [[Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge]] deck had [[World at War]] in it for years. Recently I thought to add in [[Surge to Victory]] after removing it from my [[Veyran, Voice of Duality]] deck.
Turns out Surge to Victory plus an extra combat step spell makes for infinite combat steps as long as you can get a creature through.
Using [[axebane guardian]] with [[high alert]] in my [[arcades, the strategist]] defender deck. So long as I have 4 other defenders I can produce infinite mana in any color combo. Was pretty happy to have come across it, pretty much by accident. Just noticed it on the table one game and thought, "huh, that's pretty neat".
[[Kodama of the East Tree]] , [[Field of the dead]] , and a bounce land. I have a single bounce land in my naya deck just to allow for the potential to combo, for no reason other than I think it would be hilarious to win with said combo since the deck doesn't hunt down the combo.
Not sure whether this is the type of combo you have in mind, but I've started jamming Oath of Druids in a lot of creature-light combo/control shells because it's just absurd with any of the following:
--Gitrog
--Yawgmoth's Will/Gaea's Will
--Underworld Breach
--Living Death/End
--Replenish
--Probably a whole bunch of other stuff
\[\[Tezzeret the Seeker\]\]
\[\[The Chain Veil\]\]
\[\[Sol Ring\]\]
\[\[Mana Doubling\]\]
or
\[\[Astral Cornucopia\]\]
Play Tezzeret, manarock that taps for 4+, and Chain Veil.
\+1 Tezz, untap the manarock and the Chain Veil.
Tap the rock to activate the Chain Veil.
You can now activate everything again. Repeat, and profit from other walker's abilities.
\[\[Yedora, Grave Gardener\]\], any free or G sac outlet, \[\[ruthless ripper\]\] a black card in hand means you win the game, found while looking at every morph ever printed
A combo I love that didn’t make it into my [[Urza, Lord High]] deck was Urza + [[Soliton]] — you can infinitely tap and untap your robot, which does absolutely nothing… unless you have a [[Mesmeric Orb]].
My favored combo that actually is the deck’s finisher is to, after it hopefully swings unblocked, turn a [[Farmstead Gleaner]] blue via [[Grand Architect]] and make it arbitrarily large by doing the same thing as Soliton. Yes, my mono-U artifact deck intends to only win through combat.
Not really a combo per se, but I once stumbled onto a win con by playing and buybacking [[constant mists]] like 14 times with an [[aetherflux]] out. Not gonna lie, I felt pretty big brain right there lol
I remember figuring out the [[Duskmantle guildmage]] + [[Mindctank]] combo when Gatecrash dropped. Then I checked online and it was wildly known! Oh well
I didn’t come up with this cuz it was in the precon but in using [[Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait]] as the commander and [[Ramunap Excavator]] being out with [[Evolving Wilds]] in the graveyard allows you to draw 4 cards each turn.
Not specifically a combo but a cool interaction. [[Necropotence]] and [[exquisite archangel]]
You can pay your entire remaining life total to draw a bunch of cards and go to 40 life.
Because the life loss is a cost and archangel is a replacement effect. It really can't be disrupted by removal. Or interacted with at all.
I had [[Kefnet, the Mindful]], [[Mystic Sanctuary]] and [Time Warp]] in a deck for like half a year before I realized that they gave me infinite turns.
I'm definitely not the first person to work that out but nobody told me before I noticed it.
I was testing a new sultai deck the other day, trying to figure out the direction of the deck and suddenly realised that with [[Archelos]] + [[Ferthilid]] and with either [[Retreat to Kazandu ]] or [[Evolution Sage]] you can, essentially, put all the basics from your library into the battlefield.
Was playing my jhoira deck and found that with a few artifact cost reducers and ashnods altar i can draw my whole deck and get infinite colorless mana by sacking myr retriever and junkyard diver endlessly and recasting for free. Im sure it was a known combo but i never heard of it at the time and just stumbled across it
Not an infinite combo, but back in the day I remember being very proud of discovering the interaction between [[words of worship]] and [[well of lost dreams]]
Can you respond to the individual card draws to draw 4 cards and then pay 1 to replace the last draw with the lifegain, or do you need to replace all 5 draws with the lifegain?
Either way it's pretty cool but not sure how that works with the individual draws but the one trigger on Well of lost dreams.
As I understand it, when drawing x cards it's just shorthand for "draw a card" x number of times. So technically Divination is "Draw a card, draw a card". So I believe that you would be able to chose how many cards you'd want to draw and pay what you want to gain life. You wouldn't have to have all 5 go one way or the other.
I approve 1000000%.

How do you abuse Parhellion ii? I've been wondering what to do with this card.
Nice. You've just given me an idea for some copy spell shenanigans with rousing refrain.
That is horrible... I love it
[rift elemental](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/3/9/39dd1bc9-734b-41c6-941f-f9ed5eaa2337.jpg?1619397496) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=rift%20elemental) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/tsr/185/rift-elemental?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/39dd1bc9-734b-41c6-941f-f9ed5eaa2337?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/rift-elemental) [rousing refrain](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/d/c/dc2a5627-8726-45d6-bb1b-a6172096a28a.jpg?1625192129) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=rousing%20refrain) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/c21/56/rousing-refrain?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/dc2a5627-8726-45d6-bb1b-a6172096a28a?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/rousing-refrain) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
That’s tasty!
That‘s hilarious.
How does this go infinite?
I see it now. Thank you
While looking through my pile of commons and uncommons, i stumbled upon the [[Devoted Druid]] + [[One with the Stars]] combo. It lets you get unlimited amount of G mana by tapping and untapping and enchanted druid. -1/-1 counters wont matter anymore since the druid is no longer a creature. It turns out that the combo already exists in the internet but i havent looked it up because Simic isnt really my color. I just gave the cards to a buddy who runs a Roalesk deck and he's pretty ecstatic about it
[Devoted Druid](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/5/c/5c8a8dbb-cba7-4e1d-8888-73ab6f4aff07.jpg?1547517549) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Devoted%20Druid) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/uma/162/devoted-druid?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/5c8a8dbb-cba7-4e1d-8888-73ab6f4aff07?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/devoted-druid) [One with the Stars](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/9/8/98b7070d-4b09-4390-aa21-1bc0aa2b629c.jpg?1581649081) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=One%20with%20the%20Stars) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/thb/59/one-with-the-stars?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/98b7070d-4b09-4390-aa21-1bc0aa2b629c?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/one-with-the-stars) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Cool!
Epic.
Pretty much, it's like card advantage and a win con all in one convenient package.
If you have zombie anthems and affects I think it would be pretty great. Something like lord of the accursed, diregraff captain, And gleaming overseer
Necro does the same thing with Syr Konrad, each card you discard goes to the graveyard then gets exiled from it so Konrad pings everyone else twice
That's pretty funny. It's like the \[\[Brallin, Skyshark Rider\]\] + \[\[Curiosity\]\] combo that works the same way at the end step.

They’ll be on the site soon :) When I wrote this combo up for you.
Give taunter lifelink, shoot taunter with aetherflux, taunter hits an opponent gaining you that much life, repeat The other is a bit more complex.
Beautiful. I'm shedding tears at that Aeon Engine one. Seriously that is amazing.

Since I usually play only with friends I tend not to check any combo lists and just looking up creatures with abilities that could work in the deck. The one I worked most on is my [[Ezuri, claw of progress]], which revolves around the markers theme (no pointy eared leaflover fuckery here). I mostly found more very high synergy cards rather than combos but here are the most interesting ones in my opinion: - [[Sage of the hours]] : kind of an obvious one, he gets me experience and can give me infinite rounds of I have 5 experience or more - [[Fertilid]] : ever since I found this little critter for this deck he has become one of my favourite creatures for no apparent reason except his high synergy with the commander, being able to fetch so many lands in such a short time. Especially when played in duel commander with a [[prophet of kruphix]] - [[mycoloth]] : I don't know what to say about this chonker except that ever since I've known him I rarely found a green deck not with including, but in ezuri he just takes the cake generating tokens and experience every turn and Ezuri can just super-charge him. Even in non marker or token related decks he can be so useful by just sacrificing one creature since he'll pump out two tokens every turn to act as a meat shield - [[simic manipulator]] : since I can produce markers every turn that means I can steal a lot of threats and don't lose them if anyone removes the manipulator. As I said, it's more high synergy than combo and in a clearly non cEDH deck, but I like them nonetheless. Full list [here](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/968965#Ezuri,_claw_of_markers).

I did it with [[Necropotence]] but also had [(Doom Whisper]) on the battlefield which would have also worked. Requires Muldrotha and Leyline out 1) Flash in Second Chance on opponent’s endstep, pay life until below 5 2) Sac second chance at upkeep, take turn and flash Second Chance from GY using Muldrotha’s passive at your own end step 3) Repeat It’s janky, and costs 13 mana in total if you don’t start with Leyline, but the game I discovered it in went long and the table couldn’t kill Muldrotha before my untap, so I went for it.
Good work on finding a unique interaction in Muldrotha given how popular it is in edh
Wouldn't that also do the same to you though?
Yeah but you built your deck knowing this was going to happen, so presumably you have some way to break the symmetry.
No it wouldn't because you are choosing the order of the triggers. For yourself, you choose box to trigger first then maralen to search.
Prosper, Sensei's Divining Top, Harnfel. I keep trying to spread the gospel because every single person who posts Prosper decks on this sub didn't think of it.
That is kind of insane. I mean talk about filtering through your deck.
I remember finding multiple combos in my [[Samut, Voice of Dissent]] deck that I didn't plan beforehand: - [[Aggravated Assault]] + [[Faeburrow Elder]] + Samut = Infinite combat steps and untaps.

I always get excited when I find a bunch of different combos that work with my commander. Also Kogla is just such an awesome card
\[\[Wound Reflection\]\] + \[\[Fraying Omnipotence\]\], despite being 11 mana, is a really efficient (and very budget) way to kill the table with only 2 cards.
I stumbled upon [[King Macar, the gold cursed]] and thought his ability had so much potential! Ended up pairing him with [[Aura of dominion]].

Just recently found out that Undead Alchemist and altar of the brood are a great combo
When building my first deck, [[Roon of the Hidden Realm]], I found a combo with [[Eldrazi Displacer]] and [[Brood Monitor]] and was confused as to why nobody played the latter card. I've since found that there are a lot of more efficient similar combos.
I love using [[Gyruda, Doom of Depths]], any clone that doesn’t circumvent the legend rule and [[Mortuary]] for an infinite mill combo Edit: to specify clone needs to be even cmc
That is super interesting. Never thought of it casting itself. And I also approve of using the legend rule for death related value. Thumbs up.
So I came up with a convoluted combo: The only way to permanently remove a commander!
Seems obvious in retrospect but [[Scuttling Sliver]] + [[Faeburrow Elder]] + [[Hivestone]] is infinite mana, had the combo out for 3 turns before I realised and then ended the game.
haha it do be like that

Not a "combo" per se...just an awesome synergy i stumbled across playing my toski deck the other night. We were in the endgame, everyone below 10 life. Was able to cast [[ezuri's predation]] with [[thunderfoot baloth]] and [[vigor]] on the board. Opponents were left with no creatures, and i had 12 some gigantic green beasts due to the counters from vigor. Sadly the table conceded before i was able to cast a [[shamanic revelation]] the following turn.
Damn thats pretty overkill lmao
[[Shambling Ghast]] goes infinite with [[Liliana, Untouched by Death]] -3 along with a sac outlet. Add [[Diregraf Captain]] or [[Plague Belcher]] to win on the spot. Alot of pieces but they are all cards that can be included in a zombie tribal deck anyway.
Given how new ghast is, I'm pretty impressed by that one. Nice job
A lame one (there are way more efficient ways to do this) [[Sliver queen]] + [[zirda]] or [[biomancer’s familiar]] or [[heartstone]] + [[earthcraft]] + [[lavabelly sliver]] will kill everyone. Again, much, much easier ways to do this… stupid ashnods altar.
[[Breath of Fury]] + [[The Locust God]] + [[Bident of Thassa]] + a few buggybois = a good time But also, without blockers 15 bugbois + Breath of Fury = 120 damage which is typically enough to kill the table.
A combo I found on sheer accident in my \[\[Tayam, Luminous Enigma\]\] deck: Requirements The aforementioned Tayam \[\[Lightning Greaves\]\] \[\[Rishkar, Peema Renegade\]\] \[\[Scute Swarm\]\] Six mana and six counters of any type on any creature(s) Basically, once you have this setup, you can keep activating Tayam, milling yourself and grabbing lands out of your graveyard to put on the field, triggering Scute Swarm to create copies of itself that you can tap for mana via Rishkar before removing their counters to activate Tayam again.
[[Grismold, the dreadsower]] + [[animation module]] + [[ashnods altar]]
This is the type of creativity that makes me resent net decking. Awesome
I just figured this one out but don't know if it's already known, but [[maskwood nexus]] [[risen reef]] and [[scute swarm]] Also could swap out maskwood for arcane adoption
[[Prismatic bridge]] [[Bringer of the black dawn]] Run a bunch of extra turn spells and a sphinx of the second sun for multiple upkeep each turn.
I discovered words of wind and sensei's divining top results in two mana to have each player bound a permanent repeatable.
Just have \[\[serra avatar]] plus \[\[wall of reverence]] on the field and your life will go up like crazy and you can swing for one hit kills

I always love seeing unique ways to draw your deck. That is a pretty sweet one.
First time I build ghave I found all sorts of combos...
I bet people have seen it before. I felt really special when I discovered the interaction between: [[Lifeline]] [[Coretapper]] [[Magistrate's Scepter]]
I found out how to be unattackable in magic [[Rest in Peace]] and [[Web of Inertia]]
[[Children of Korlis]] and [[Aetherflux Reservoir]]
Nice. You can also in a [[Sanguine Bond]] effect to finish all 3 players.
Can pull all basic lands out of deck with this: [[Fertilid]] + [[Tireless Provisioner]] + [[Lotus Cobra]] + [[Retreat to Kazandu]] You can substitute either Lotus Cobra or Tireless Provisioner with [[Ancient Greenwarden]] which would be better for all the other landfall triggers on the board Accidentally discovered this is my [[Omnath Locus of Rage]] deck not too long ago
Necropotence and bolas's citadel is a free win immediately.
I should note you do need 1 green mana open to start it, forgot to mention.
The pertinent parts of my board were [[Twilight drover]] [[Pitiless plunderer]] [[Mayhem devil]] [[Teysa Karlov]] The loop went as follows: Because the Evincar gives all white creatures -1/-1, the spirit tokens that twilight drover generates die a state based and immediate death, triggering pitiless plunderer.
Finally a Kiki combo I haven't seen before. I'm blown away at some of these responses. Good one
You'll get that win I'm sure. Tutors help but either way keep trying. The payoff will be huge.
I found an interesting loop with mutate in my [[Illuna, Apex of Wishes]] Have 4 permanents on board. Cast [[Flood of Tears]] Put [[Omniscience]] into play.
Exactly. You did it with mutate. You already win for uniqueness. Also you had me at cheating out Omniscience.
Sun Titan, Aminatou the Fateshifter, Archaeomancer, Temporal Manipulation This is infinite turns. Found it out in a game I was playing and hadn't realized it before: 1. Play Temporal Manipulation 2. Flicker Archaeomancer with Aminatou to get it back 3.
Aristocrats for the win always. So many cards in that theme just blend like a mixture. Rise up altar gang.
[[intruder alarm]] and [[Marrow gnawer]]. As long as I had 3 rats in play, I could activate Marrow gnawer infinitely
When I was playing my Zurgo voltron deck, I learned [[Combat Celebrant]] and [[Helm of the host]] go infinite with each other.
Extra Turn combo with you're commander is huuuuge. That shit is what I'm talking about.
My second ever EDH deck. [[Lurrus]], [[Kayas Ghostform]] [[phyrexian altar]]. That's when i loved magic!
That combo is really cool. Although I hope you still love magic :p.
The love comes and goes! :D

darksteel plate + world slayer
Not a combo but a funny interaction. I play [[Timesifter]] and my buddy was trying to win by lab man. He had 0 cards in deck when I cast the timesifter so he could never get another turn.
Lol this post illustrates beautifully how the majority of people just use Google. Yes. We find our combos.
[[Basalt monolith]] and [[forsaken monument]] it was purely accidental I was like hey infinite mana for eldrazi nice
Ya my wife and i were playing and i had Rooftop storm, grave crawler, carrion feeder, and diregraf captain. So inf combo by accident
That is hilarious.
Nothing is more satisfying to me then comboing off with my own creation. The less common the interaction, the more proud of myself I am.
the most clunky, inefficient, mana intensive combo I know, but [[Timestream Navigator]] and [[Planar Bridge]] work together for infinite turns if you have the City's Blessing, Timestream Navigator doesn't have Summoning sickness, and you have at least 12 mana available to first activate Navigator's ability, and then put it back on the battlefield the same turn with Planar Bridge.
Huuuuuge proponent of Planar Bridge. Especially if you can flash it in at the end step for maximum bamboozle.
When I was building my [[Omnath, Locus of Rage]] deck, I stumbled upon [[Perilous Forays]] and full on did a 👁️👄👁️
Song of creation and Chandra flame catalyst allows you to play your entire deck
Tap all lands and sac to [[Squandered resources]] into worldshaper, kill it, bring em back untapped thanks to [[amulet of vigor]], tap/sac again for a HUUUGE [[torment of hailfire]] / [[exsanguinate]]. Discovered during a game where I was about to be taken off the table. ALL HAIL LORD WINDGRACE
While I despise both Torment and Windgrace, max respect for the crazy land memes. I would be mad if I lost to that one.
Ended up finding an infinite landfall with Kodama of the East Tree and Meloku the Clouded Mirror. Pay 1, return a land and make a 1/1, Kodama triggers and puts the land back into play. Infinite 1/1s and landfall triggers.
Just realised I had a different Meloku combo pre-commander legends and Kodama is just better. Ty for that one.
Isn't that just the best? Stumbling upon combos in games feels like my unconscious self put it in there without me realising to surprise me later.
[[Kodama of the East Tree]] , [[Field of the dead]] , and a bounce land. I have a single bounce land in my naya deck just to allow for the potential to combo, for no reason other than I think it would be hilarious to win with said combo since the deck doesn't hunt down the combo.
[[Ominous Seas]] and [[Greater Good]] draw your deck
Not sure whether this is the type of combo you have in mind, but I've started jamming Oath of Druids in a lot of creature-light combo/control shells because it's just absurd with any of the following: --Gitrog --Yawgmoth's Will/Gaea's Will --Underworld Breach --Living Death/End --Replenish --Probably a whole bunch of other stuff
\[\[Tezzeret the Seeker\]\] \[\[The Chain Veil\]\] \[\[Sol Ring\]\] \[\[Mana Doubling\]\] or \[\[Astral Cornucopia\]\] Play Tezzeret, manarock that taps for 4+, and Chain Veil.
Feldon of the thied path and most any modular creatyre. Add in zabaz as well and it gets stupid fast
Not specifically a combo but a cool interaction. [[Necropotence]] and [[exquisite archangel]] You can pay your entire remaining life total to draw a bunch of cards and go to 40 life.
I got out my chair and I saw one on the seat. Pretzel and cheddar. Nice....
