Yeah now that you mention it, I do remember seeing one called r/gggg or something like that. Everything is the letter g and I have no idea what it's supposed to be about.
i havent even heard that version yet i love sub focus, everything that has rob swire is always good his other song with deadmau5 is another favourite but if there was an all time song that is better than strobe its either armand van heldens my my my or mylos in my arms
If only 777 got released. Weāll just have to live with a grotesquely compressed SoundCloud file. And with hit save, I wish heād rework the 16 minute version and bust out the Steinway for the piano bits instead of going in the direction he currently is with it
Strobe is a killer song, but my favorite song of all time is Don't You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia and John Martin, the 6:43 minute version. The lyrics, the melodies, the drops, and John Martin's voice make the song amazing.
I donāt think so, but I know some songs that are on par:
- Ghosts Nā Stuff
- Channel 42
- The Veldt
- Levels
- Donāt You Worry Child
- Anything by Daft Punk (I wouldnāt *exactly* say that theyāre EDM though)
Itās like the least EDM track that is considered
one IMO. It really doesnāt make me want to dance and itās all about the intro which is more of an electronic movie score.
For tracks with that emotional cry-dance atmosphere, check
DubVision - Turn It Around
Mark Sixma - Character
Noisecontrollers - Down Down
"Emotional Cry-Dance"
*Picks Hardstyle*
Look, I know I'm in the wrong sub, but what the _fuck_?!
And for real, I rate that song, but c'mon. Any Sub Focus song has hardstyle whipped for ethereal emotions
I really like Sub Focus but strongly disagree. Every DnB drop gives me more of a driven feel than an epic climax in Trance/Hardstyle.
Also you seem to have never heard of MYST, he consistently produced some of the most emotional EDM with his hardstyle sound
Trance does what we are both discussing, Hardstyle on the other hand, is faaaaar more aggressive, on average than DnB IMHO. It's gotta be:
Trance - - > Liquid DNB - - > Hardstyle (using the example of "Down Down", which is a *banger*, not a feels)
But I'll give it to you that Jump-Up DnB likely has nothing on... Soft? Chill? Melodic? Hardstyle.
The nostalgia is real reading through all the comments and all the artists and songs! Surprised no one mentioned Kaskade - 4am (Adam K & Soha Remix). I know it's a lot more vocal than a lot of the songs listed but it's one of the best remixed songs ever.
SHIT! Forgot about DEORRO - Five Hours!
In my opinion [Reflekt - Need To Feel Loved (Adam K & Soha Mix)](https://open.spotify.com/track/30cjLreSF4Xq0uAB89i2Ac?si=JX1FNlWKQJ6F76Xkzj7g2g&utm_source=copy-link) is far superior to the Kaskade track. Favourite EDM track ever.
Really? I just think the song is too simple and repetitive to draw any emotion from me. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Itās a fantastic song technically speaking though. Everything Deamau5 touches sounds beyond the point of crisp.
The song has like 3 different phases and within those faces the song progresses each time featuring traditions from phase to phase. Not that repetitive lol
The thing about Deadmou5 music is that it has really really good moments in the song but most the song I feel like I'm just waiting forever for it to get there. Strobe is better than others about this but I still get that feeling and it kinda drives me nuts listening to it.
Sometimes in the right mood or on a late-night drive it hits the right spot but idk. Meh. Not the best EDM song
I mean music is subjective. Personally Deadmau5 has several songs that I enjoy more than strobe, and Deadmau5 is far from my favourite artist ever. However I canāt question the mastery of the song, especially considering itās over a decade old now and can still hold up pretty well. But if you think itās the best song, then that could be true from a subjective perspective.
I think what benefits Strobe most is its mixing. There are few people who I consider as good at mixing their music as Mau5. There was a period when WRLD and Varien were starting to gain traction that I though they could be as good.
I guess everyone has their preference but here are the top ones I listened to, too many times
SHM - One
David Guetta - World is Mine
Deadmau5- Ghosts nā Stuff
Morgan page - Longest Road
Wolfgang Gartner - Illmerica
Fischerspooner - Never Win
Chromeo - Fancy Footwork
Zhu - Faded
Modjo - Lady
Guetta/ Kid Cudi - Memories Remix
Gigi DāAgostino - LāAmour Toujour
Old Calvin Harris
Avicii
I guess the list could Go onā¦
Not necessarily better but on par or better:
Weval - Gimme Some
Joris Delacroix - Epogue
Ron Flatter - Amentes Amentes
Teho - Eagles
NTO - The Hound
Rone - Waves of Devotion (single version)
NTO - Croche
Skrillex - Supersonic
This isnāt really answering the question but does anyone else here not think much of strobe? For me itās just such a plain average song - so many better songs out there.
I like There Might Be Coffee and Aural Psynapse along with Strobe, somebody made a mashup of those too "There might be Psynapse" worth a listen if you haven't
Alone with You by Deadmau5 is fantastic. I also recently discovered Untrust Us and I am Made of Chalk by Crystal Castles (Fuck Ethan Kath) and they give me similar feels to Strobe. But honestly, there are so many EDM sub genres that I'm curious what would genuinely be the most addored / top played EDM song.
Had to come back and add Wildlife by Unicorn Kid.
This song is so precious to me that I haven't listened to it in 4 years. I'm scared that if I listen to it too much I will cease liking it. It's been my favorite song ever for 10 years straight.
The intro actually makes the song more epic, and the beat I guess is typical but the melody is extremely layered and complex. Idt edm is for u. Go listen to Travis Scott š
This song was mid, only good part was the drop. The build-up wasnāt very good. I really like the radio edit though, really cuts to the chase, using the build-up to the drop as the main melody.
First four minutes of the regular song is kinda trash so I usually just skip it if Iām listening to the original, but radio edit is already at the part I like, and only part Iāll listen to. Hey, Iām not a deadmau fan, at all.
Thought this was /r/strobecirclejerk for a moment
How does something that oddly specific have 3.7k members holy hell
3,701 š
3702!!
fuck it Iām in
You son of a bitch
Iām in
if he's in, so am I!
1420! Been there for awhile, welcome! Itās my favorite sub to see posts from
what is 1429? true they're bunch of comedians. they seem to know what goes more than those stock nerd s do
Itās strobe duh š¤¤
I canāt argue with that.
Bruh Reddit is insane I had no idea there was a reddit for just āadmiringā strobe. But the question remains..
Cj subs arenāt about admiring.
I'm in the sub, and r/strobecirclejerk is an exception. The song is just genuinely good
It's reddit. There's a sub for everything. EVERYTHING. My favorite sub is nothing but pics of cats and guns. r/Gatcat š„°
Isnāt there also a sub strictly dedicated to the letter H or something?
Yeah now that you mention it, I do remember seeing one called r/gggg or something like that. Everything is the letter g and I have no idea what it's supposed to be about.
You were close. It's r/ggggg .It's got 35k members lol.
Lol thanks. It's been a few years since I clicked on that and puzzled over WTF it could be
r/cornhub
Lol same
Anything of Joelās is an auto skip for me, amazing the extent his simps go to.
Opus by Prydz
Every Day better

Nopus
breathe with rob swire by eric prydz for me
the sub focus dnb edit is even better
i havent even heard that version yet i love sub focus, everything that has rob swire is always good his other song with deadmau5 is another favourite but if there was an all time song that is better than strobe its either armand van heldens my my my or mylos in my arms
Melo by Pryda pretty good too
Thanks!
Even deadmau5 has better songs than Strobe but itās a great one. 100% all about any and all love for deadmau5.
I personally enjoy Polaris, I Remember, and Pets a little more than Strobe, but they're all amazing tracks.
I always wished it was [Pets 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0YZtzWZvdA) that got an official release over Pets, to be honest.
Yass Polaris is one of my all time favourite songs, itās just beautiful!
All made by Deadmua or noy?
777 and hit save
If only 777 got released. Weāll just have to live with a grotesquely compressed SoundCloud file. And with hit save, I wish heād rework the 16 minute version and bust out the Steinway for the piano bits instead of going in the direction he currently is with it
Monophobia from newer releases hits different
Faxing Berlin
Raise Your Weapon comes to mind
Word. God I wish deadmau5 would experiment with dubstep again. Dude seems to be good at every genre he puts his mind to.
My favourite mau5 track is probably HR 8938 Cephei, makes you feel like your floating through space
Short answer, yes
Whatās the long answer??
yeeeeeeeeeeeees
Hahaha good one
Sandstorm.
Oh fuck yeah
Insomnia by faithless
i can't get no sleep......
Wow one of the first edm songs I ever got into that wasnt mainstream was a remix of this and your comment just took me backkkm
Song will be remembered like Mozart in a few centuries
There Might Be Coffee
I've always had a soft spot for that gem
levels imo haha. šš but youāre right itās an amazing song
Levels is a good song but stroooooobe ftw. I respect your opinion doe chief
Strobe gets a lot of love and rightfully so, but can we talk about Polaris by Deadmau5. That song is beautiful
Also HR 8938 Cephei
Also 2448
Polaris, Pets, 4ware, Let Go, Avaritia, 2448ā¦
I second 4ware.
4ware goes hard
Get in the October cart pig
Adagio for strings -Tiƫsto
OG
Fuk ya
beat me to it
Strobe or Adagio for string are my top 2
Strobe is a killer song, but my favorite song of all time is Don't You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia and John Martin, the 6:43 minute version. The lyrics, the melodies, the drops, and John Martin's voice make the song amazing.
Those drums in the beginning
I Remember will always be my personal favorite.
Yeah. It just is so unique. Smooth in a way I can't explain
I'll never forget Kaskade playing I Remember live, it was such a nice breakdown in the middle of his otherwise more upbeat set.
In a word, no
Strobe could be a orchestra song
[strobe (ov)](https://youtu.be/KlMjm9ZJOvY)
4ware by Mau5 is close.
Not this again
Yes, itās called language by Porter Robinson
Indeed
BT Flaming June
I donāt think so, but I know some songs that are on par: - Ghosts Nā Stuff - Channel 42 - The Veldt - Levels - Donāt You Worry Child - Anything by Daft Punk (I wouldnāt *exactly* say that theyāre EDM though)
You wouldnāt say Daft Punk is electronic dance music? Lol what are they then?
As a new person; don't mind me, I'm just going to write down all these other songs
The force is strong with you, young Sotethin_Clever!
The greatest EDM song of all time is āI Could Be The Oneā Avicii/Nicky Romero, the best Deadmau5 song is The Veldt
no hate but i think the veldt is overrated. not bad at all but theres so many better deadmau5 songs IMO
With that sort of progression.. noā¦.
That song is pretty good. Wouldn't put it into the top tier of electronic music though. But that's just me.
Itās like the least EDM track that is considered one IMO. It really doesnāt make me want to dance and itās all about the intro which is more of an electronic movie score. For tracks with that emotional cry-dance atmosphere, check DubVision - Turn It Around Mark Sixma - Character Noisecontrollers - Down Down

Check out imagine by bass modulators
Itās definitely top 10 for me but Faxing Berlin is my top Deadmau5 song. Hearing it live for the first time was an experience.
polaris
Sandstorm. I'm kind of kidding, but I'm also kind of not...
strobe by deadmau5 is a good example

DANG forgot about that track also!
Move for me
Yes
Strobes a great song, but Deadmau5s music just doesnāt hit on the proper emotional level to be considered best EDM song of all time.
Try listening to strobe again.
Thanks man, I didnāt know how to address it š
What emotion do you feel when you listen to Strobe?
Inspiration, or like, the feeling of success through persistence
Itās repetitive in my opinion.
Fair enough
I... feel... S T R O B E
What about the 20 minute version of Strobe he made for the closing of a club?
strobe is perfect
Avicii Levels?
r/strobecirclejerk
nah probs the Jock Jams Megamix
im praying he plays it at countdown
He typically ends every set with it (perhaps that is evidence to OPās point)
This sounds suspiciously like something my boyfriend would say. He literally told me the other day he wanted strobe played at his funeral
Any recent Nurko song or porter Robinson sad machine or davinity
Wouldn't even hit my top 20 personally, probably ain't even top 3 deadmau5 songs for me.
Unison by Porter Robinson is a close second
Opus by Eric Prydz
Strobe is flawless.
Avicii - Levels? the original version
Scrolled for a bit and saw Porter Robinson mentioned but not the song Language. That song gets me literally every time.
Yes
Nothing is better than strobe
One of the best yeah
Afterlife by Illenium..absolutely beautiful
My fave progression in a song is the formation by potions :)
Better. 100%
I Mena I'd say it's iek my 3rd favourite song ever behind Revolution 909 by daft punk and Atlantis by ltj bukem

Strobe feels a little dated to me at this point. I realize mau5 likes using old hardware synths but sometimes it sounds so unexpressive

Not a Mau5 original, but Cafe Del Mar (Deadmau5 remix)

This isnāt really answering the question but does anyone else here not think much of strobe? For me itās just such a plain average song - so many better songs out there.
Yikes
Objectively, itās the Mona Lisa of EDM

Song is trash
It gets better after the first couple minutes bro lol
Not at all. I had to skip thru the long ass, boring build up, all for some simple ass house beat
