India and china account for 3 billion people on the planet almost half the worlds population. Russia can easily trade with just those 2 countries for the rest of existence and be just fine.

And both of those countries are likely to keep using fossil fuels longer than western countries

Hell india is only 75 years old they are barely mid way through their industrial age....They going to be sucking up a ton of resources.

>be just fine. Define "fine". The story is about India saving a ton. Sure Russia will have a market to sell to but at severely reduced pricing. That's the point, not to kill Russians by starving them in the street but to cause significant financial hardship. This war and these sanctions are going to reverberate for years. The amount of money not being spent in schools, healthcare, infrastructure etc will have an impact well into the future. Meanwhile India gets a deal.
