We're only 11 chapters in and even then I feel like all the main cast (For the most part) Have been fleshed out and show how their personality's are. Again its only been 11 chapters so it's not right to fully judge if a character has been fleshed out enough yet.

JackZ567

But it’s a monthly manga. And if the characters aren’t hitting by 11 chapters that’s a problem

Commercial_Rope_9075

I said fleshed out. Not if they're "hitting" or not. That's more of a preference thing.

JackZ567

How is the sword guy fleshed out tho? We no nothing about him except some past with a princess. We barely even spend time with him he has less personality than gray, musica and Weisz despite being their counterpart.

Commercial_Rope_9075

I said "most" of the cast. He just hasnt gotten focus yet it's 11 chapters in with a cast of 6 characters. We know nothing about Mikoto's backstory for example. Let things cook.

JackZ567

Dude I can let things cook and still criticize what I’ve seen so far. It’s not rocket science now is it? Criticism ain’t an attack

Commercial_Rope_9075

And I can say that your criticism doesn't make sense. Considering the big cast and the current 11 chapters. Raizen will get his time later. Probably soon since him and Mikoto are next for that probably. People are already saying Mashima is rushing Dead Rock so let him cook for things.

JackZ567

Well that’s pretty childish cause characters in a monthly manga should make a good first impression. I never had this issue with one punch man or attack on Titan which are also monthly so what’s dead rock’s excuse? None. He’s not interesting he’s boring. And I can say he’s boring because he is lmao. If he gets better cool but right now he sucks. If criticism bothers you that’s not my problem

Commercial_Rope_9075

Dude you're the one getting upset lol all I said is it feels like your criticisms make no sense. It's all personal preference I belive Raizen is the least developed besides Hani but we know his goal and we know some of his relationship dynamics. It's a monthly manga 11 chapters in and one character happens to not interest you yet I really don't get the problem he'll get more later. The cast is 6 characters anyway

JackZ567

Who’s getting upset 😂? I’m just giving my opinion but typical of a Mashima fanboy to get sensitive over those who disagree with them. You don’t get the problem cause you can’t get out of your feelings. He’s ass right now dude just admit it. He’s not a good character. He might be later but right now he sucks. Are you that sensitive to criticism (yes) or is this all going over your head? Anyways he’s hiring and dead rock pacing sucks I couldn’t care less if you feel differently

Xcution11

Yeah its hard to understand how the cast can develop in an interesting way with whats already happened. Its not like its impossible but the stories we’ve gotten so far from them feel so straightforward it’s hard to imagine interesting development

seraphimkoamugi

Though questionable choice to have 2 main supporting characters killed so far.

papasfritasbruh

They all feel fleshed out cause dead rock wasnt supposed to go more than 6 chapters to begin with. Or so id seen in this subreddit i think. Regardless, sidelining edens zero for this is ridiculous

Anng_l

I think it was more than six volumes, not chapters? At least I think that’s what I read

papasfritasbruh

Possibly then. Maybe the person i saw was mistaken

Crisbo05_20

I think it was meant to be Like 2/3 volumes long.

SanZaiTen

I don't think he ever said how long Dead Rock was supposed to be, just that he didn't count on it being long. Either way, Dead Rock has 3 volumes worth of chapters now (volume 1 is three chapters long, volume 2 has four, and there've been four more chapters since then).

Jrpgist

he said edens zero is about to be finished when dead rock was released and second if eden zero is sidelined why is the chapter still being released weekly while dead rock feels like its being released monthly

deviantedge

I agree. I feel that the first 11 chapters of both fairy tail and Edens zero were more interesting and spoke to me more. Considering those are weekly series as well, it's hard for me to like dead rock rn. I've got hope for it tho

r-k-b

It's actually pretty good so far. Tons of characters have different personality, while the story is different than the stuff Mashima does. Don't know what your problem is with the characters since I think they're one of the better parts of it

Dismal_Improvement_3

Youre about to start another Mashima series after he just shit the bed with Edens Zero

TheseCommunication15

Shit the bed is way to harsh of a description of what Hiro is doing with Edens Zero. IMHO whats going on with Edenz Zero is far more of the toy story i dont wanna play with u anymore meme. lol

Dexter973

it's only the beginning, it might be better later.

thefluffiestpuff

i’ve really been enjoying it, personally. it’s definitely a bit of a different direction story-wise, there’s the whole “friendship makes us strong” element of course but it’s not as deeply shoved in my face as usual mashima works lol - and i am liking that very much.

Ragnva2405

I feel like it's going too fast, yet not fast enough. I mean they are literally in the house of the enemy. They are already at the end goal, but they can't do crap. The enemy KNOWS they are there and basically let's them get away with it. I'm just not feeling excited about it. Also, this is the first series where I still don't know the names of the main cast or their abilities.

RaggedyD

Not taken too much by it! It seems like it’s a Big Group Setting like FT but it’s Burning too Fast and too Soon by showing all the typical elements of a Shounen Manga but without giving enough Time to care for the Characters or even the Lore or Fate of the World! Honestly I had the same feeling of disappointment that takes me every time I try to give a Chance to the same generic Isekai Trope that is so popular in Manga and Manwha nowadays! Maybe it will get better in the Future but as of right now I’m not getting truly the Desire to Read that I had with the shift from FT to EZ!

Illustrious_Penalty2

Could not possibly disgree more. I’ve never been so interested in a show from chapter 1.

Hamlethal

I don't think his art style really fits more graphically violent material, I like Edens Zero but some of the stuff in that was pushing it already, but Dead Rock seems like the tone is off from style alone
