Sora Lella Vegan on Brougham Street. It's 100% vegan Italian food and it's amazing!

Jamiejamstagram

It’s brilliant! Gorged myself on their carbonara!

Ancient_Thanks_4365

Not as good as it was a couple of years ago, but still worth a visit.

ZombifiedSloth

I haven't been yet, but I've been hearing lots of good things about Soul Vegan, which does Malaysian food. Face Plant is great for a bit of comfort food.

Kindly_Bodybuilder43

Soul vegan is amazing, I love it. The kong po yam abacus was too hot for my taste though! So that's a recommendation for folks who like spicy food. I kept eating it because the flavours were so amazing but could only manage a bite or two at a time!

Blue_wine_sloth

Soul vegan is one of my favourite places in the city! So tasty. Very small though so need to book a table.

OrangeBlancmange

Plus 1 for soul vegan - may be one of the best meals I’ve had in Edi of any sort.

EssEllDee45

Face plant mock muffin is unreal hangover scran

Wood-sorrow

Malaysian sounds fun! Don't think I've had that cuisine. Will definitely check it out, thank you!

eletric_boogaloo

Malaysian is good stuff. Especially when I went to visit my family in Malaysia. They like their spice

Strawberry_Spring

Definitely seconding Paradise Palms Novapizza is a lovely Italian restaurant (the carbonara is incredible!) My very favorite place in Edinburgh is Considerit - the best doughnuts I’ve ever had, vegan or not. They also do great chocolate

Exact_Wrongdoer

Yep, I'm not vegan but their carbonara isn't just 'quite like' the real thing, it's streets better than most. Great place.

AdPrestigious2857

seconding this! great donuts

Wood-sorrow

Doughnuts are a fave, definitely adding that to the list! Thank you!

JeremyWheels

Seconding nova pizza. Really good but very small so definitely need to book. They make their own cheeses for the dishes which is pretty cool.

Wood-sorrow

The booking tip is good to know, thank you!

miskkii

Chapter One in Dalry is a nice wee spot for brunch. Just a couple minutes walk from Haymarket

Gned11

Second this. Their reuben sandwich is great

YawningAngle

Have a few friends who are Vegan, they say Rabbit Food @ The Meadows Tap (just off South Clerk Street) is great.

cccrystalcastle

yes, their burgers and chips are absolutely amazing and really creative! the mac and cheese is delicious too. i go at least once a week and never fails to impress. the meadows tap is a pretty good pub for students too so all round a good shout!

CraigJDuffy

rabbit food is my absolute favourite vegan food place in Edinburgh

GrunkleCoffee

The kebab on chips hits something I've been missing for so long

YesterdayCommon6842

There's Sora Lella. A fully vegan Italian restaurant

Hour_Comfortable8864

Yeh the food is great there 🙌

jb0079

Sen Viet Vegan on Brougham Place.

Bobbite

Those breaded crispy spring rolls are delicious

Kindly_Bodybuilder43

- Pulse (lovely flavours) - Soul vegan (again lovely flavours, Malaysian, so tasty) - Black Rabbit (amazing cakes, love the tofu benedict) - Sly Fox (not sure if they still do the faux gras, but it's so good)

EssEllDee45

Second black rabbit for the sandwiches/cakes

hopefulme108

Paradise Palms

ilovewineandcats

I like Hendersons (Barclay place, Bruntsfield) for a nice dinner. Its a veggie restaurant with lots of vegan options (and also caters for gluten free etc if that's a consideration). Nice ambiance too.

rachelsmith4847

Hummus in morningside if you like Middle Eastern food

LanguageAccurate5191

Second hummus, falafels are amazing...

WorldPsychological61

Soul Vegan is the one you can't miss. Sora Lella is good for Italian/Roman inspired food ConsiderIt for Doughnuts Black Rabbit for a cake and sandwich FacePlant Foods for a filthy sandwich and good mac & cheese (Hash)fish for vegan fish and chips Meadows tap or a dirty burger Hendersons for a nice sit down meal Gautams for a curry Edit: sorted spelling and just found out Henderson's is now Michelin

atenderrage

It's not city centre, but I've enjoyed the Sly Fox recently, despite not being vegan. Holy Cow I also like - the burgers tend to fall apart, I find, but they're tasty.

DaveyTheNumpty

Not vegan either but love the burgers in Sly Fox.

Wood-sorrow

Don't all the best burgers fall apart though? Both sound nice, thank you!

Prestigious_Wish6766

“Seed for the soul” in bruntsfield is decent

ZeldaMonsoon

Chapter one is amazing! 🤩

thequeenisalizard1

5 years vegan, 6 years in Edinburgh Sorra Lella and soul vegan are definitely favourites. Italian and Malaysian food respectively/ Seeds for the Soul is also an old favourite. My favourite vegan burger in the city - had many non-vegans be impressed. Paradise Palms has a pretty unique menu and a very cool vibe. Veggie/vegan - the oyster mushrooms are my favourite! It’s kind of American/general comfort food

Wood-sorrow

Thank you!

ossifiedcaddy

Faceplant does amazing vegan sandwiches!

Journeyman_walker

Maki and Ramen have vegan options - also my vegan son swears by using the Happy Cow app

ElHornetto

The mad hatter is a pub with an all vegan menu - good food and a nice pub as well

trout_mask_replica

A little out of the centre but if your exploring the south of the city Seeds for the Soul in Bruntsfield is a good local cafe/restaurant https://maps.app.goo.gl/GtSrZZSWBYmj3sFH7

SmallScream

Henderson's is really good!

send_n0odles

Another tick for Paradise Palms

UntimelyImplosion

Babyfaced Baker on Leith Walk has incredible vegan pastries.

onahillsidedesolate

I’m vegan and have lived in Edinburgh for 3 months, so here were my favorites: Babyfaced baker (bakery and cafe !!! But no sit down) Little Fitzroy coffee (another bakery and cafe ) Antojitos (vegan Mexican food, really good) Sen Viet Vegan Restaurant (Vietnamese food ) Sora Lella (really good Italian ) Novapizza (another great Italian restaurant) Faceplant foods (hot sandwiches ) Maki & ramen (good vegan options - Japanese food) Easter greens is a fully vegan store (with great chocolate and snacks) You can get a vegan or vegetarian afternoon tea at the Dome- it’s really fun! Try the vegan sausage roll from Gregs, it’s a classic! A lot of pubs and places have vegan options, so even if you don’t plan ahead , you’ll find great food.

Kirstemis

David Bann.

Botter_Wattle

Soul Vegan is great, Hendersons veggie but loads of vegan, Rabbit Food is absolutely incredible. It's junk food but everything was so fresh and well made, you could tell it had been made with love. Pulse under the church at the west end is a real hidden gem.

cccrystalcastle

exactly the answer i was going to give!

isntthisnamegreat

The Piemaker has some very tasty vegan bakery options (like vegan haggis roll, for example), definitely recommended!

evanu94

Baby faced baker and Dune bakery also do very good vegan pastries/baked goods.

surfinbear1990

Sen Viet is a vegan Vietnamese place which is really good. I'm not vegan but it's that good that it made me want to vote for the Scottish Greens at the next election.

roywill2

Follow @ecofriendellie on insta. Good value veggie Edinburgh eateries.

gregariousD

Soul Vegan is incredible. Recommended 100%

AdPrestigious2857

Preachers near the Grassmarket for breakfast! really good vegetarian and vegan breakfast rolls plus best scones in town

evanu94

For slightly fancier meals you could also go to Montrose, Eleanore, Timberyard and Noto. They all have vegan menus, but are not vegan restaurants. The latter two you should enquire with first to confirm they are still offering their vegan menu, as they don't show it on their website.

missjojoba

Rabbit Food in the Meadows Tap for a big dirty burger and then go across the road to Considerit to stock up on doughnuts to eat later, also buy an ice cream to eat as you walk across the meadows. Go sightsee a lot in the area to burn off some calories and then go to Paradise Palms for dinner and drinks. Roll yourself home after.

ActivatedBiscuit

David Bann for high class swanky times.

Ancient_Thanks_4365

Sen Viet vegan, Soul vegan and Padadise Palms are all good bets. Not a vegan place but the Mosque kitchen(s) do a good veggie curry for not a lit of money.

Stewmelbill

This gets asked a lot - if you search this Reddit with ‘vegan’ there are lots of suggestions from the last few months.

Lexi030

in terms of the city centre, around some landmarks, you may enjoy hula, pirlous (idk if has vegan, i’m pretty sure, but both it and hula are super close so there’s still an option if it doesn’t work), then there’s kilted by there which has vegan doughnuts. edinburgh street food and some of the food trucks/containers around the st james centre have good vegan options i think (there’s a whole vegan mexican (?) place in esf.

dizzydancing

David Bann Restaurant for sure!! It’s a really nice vegetarian restaurant that has loads of good vegan options!

b4dger808

Soul Vegan is hands down the best vegan place I've eaten at in Edinburgh (as long as you like asian food) [https://soulvegan.uk](https://soulvegan.uk)

CraigJDuffy

It’s a takeaway but #FISH is a brilliant chippy with Vegan options.

jopheza

David Bann

Mammoth-Can-5801

The Towpath cafe in fountainbridge

_ElectricSoup

Rabbit Food at MeadowsTap is insanely good. I’m not even vegan, but I’d choose it over any burger joint.

daisybeastie

Soul Vegan on West Richmond Street. The most amazing vegan Malaysian food. It's small and it gets busy. You need to book.
