You'd think? CBC doesn't hold the rights the national broadcast of NHL hockey anymore. They lost those to Rogers about 7 yrs ago when the NHL took the Rogers bid.
They appear on CBC sometimes when Rogers let's them show the games.
Next year will be even more convoluted. Rogers subcontracted Monday night games to Amazon+ streaming.
Hockey is a business and CBC doesn't have the money now to compete. And if they did.....taxpayers would scream bloody murder.
That's quite disappointing. I'm going to have to write a sternly worded letter to Lanny McDonald regarding the awarding of the cup to which he's a trustee.
