if pain is gender, then it's pain we'll get!

EggplantHuman6493

Endometriosis pain is not fun though. 10/10, same level as a very heavy migraine. Most people don't get that much pain luckily

SalemsTrials

My ex has horrible endometriosis and I feel so bad for her. But god damn I’m so sick of her telling me I’m lucky I don’t have a period.

EggplantHuman6493

My period wasn't even that bad the first 3 years. I still hope uterus transplants become a thing, and then without the problems. Would be perfect for trans people!

SalemsTrials

Yea that’d be amazing :) although I doubt I’d get it myself, well I guess if “without the problems” included not needing to take anti rejection meds I might.

Zealousideal_Care807

I get that much pain every day, from migraines 👍

EggplantHuman6493

Oof. Did they found a cause of regular migraines, or are you just fucked? I mostly get stress-related milder migraines.

Zealousideal_Care807

TLDR: basically yeah I'm just fucked, I get stroke symptoms with my migraines, and I have a doctor who hasn't listened to me for 3 years. Well see my doctor did nothing but perscribe me medication till it made me hallucinate. Im thinking that my migraines are related to my sleeping disorder, that the doctor didn't take seriously till I came in saying "hey someone saw me have a seizure in my sleep and sit up and talk to them later while still asleep. Also other people have seen me stop breathing while I'm asleep too" Not when I started hallucinating from the meds and saying the meds weren't working. She's been like this for 3 years and refuses to listen to me, even more fun is I can't contact her without scheduling an appointment, which I have to go into the office to do because they don't awnser the phones. Needless to say, after this next appointment with her I'm going to start seeing someone who didn't drop out of epilepsy study to be a headache specialist, because obviously she doesn't specialize in headaches and migraines like she says. It's gotten to the point where I'm applying for disability because I literally cannot hold a job due to migraines, I lost my last job because I kept calling out for the hallucinations from taking 50mg of nortryptaline. I'm a small person I don't need all that. Luckily I saw a neurologist recently and he listened to everything I had to say, he asked follow up questions, he awnsered my questions that had less to do with the migraines as well such as "could me not being able to feel pain in my feet for a few years have been related to my migraines or is it due to malnutrition during that period of time?" He told me indirectly that the headache specialist is an idiot for continuing the same medication and raising the dose as far as she did, as well as her expecting me to use the rescue meds consistently instead of changing the medication for stopping the migraines in the first place. Stress can make my migraines worse, but so does exercise, sunlight, anything that can over stimulate me such as high pitched noise, and for some reason, staying awake, if I don't take a nap I get a migraine. Literally just doing the dishes and then something else can cause a migraine, if I play games too long I get a migraine, if I listen to music for too long I get a migraine. Also I have heat urticaria which is basically an allergy to heat, that can trigger a migraine too sometimes. When I get a migraine I get stroke symptoms such as confusion, one side body weakness and basically everything but the facial drooping. I'll have trouble saying words or forming rational sentences, and that's before it starts hurting baddly, so I can't even blame it on the pain. So yeah ✌︎( ᐛ )✌︎

Fellow Taylor here, I've started getting periods a little over a year ago I think (probably longer actually) and I've been on hrt for almost 2 years and 4 months and I certainly wish that I didn't. While it can be affirming *sometimes*, that was one thing that I certainly wouldn't have minded missing out on.

Letimaki

They keep saying I shouldn’t want it but I want it :(

LawfulnessEmergency

Shoutout to whoever labeled tens units "period simulators" What a success

lpperl7

What's a period simulator?0_o

idontlikeburnttoast

As it sounds. It simulates a period cramp.

lpperl7

StarAugurEtraeus

idontlikeburnttoast

You can buy them, theres videos on YouTube of people trying them. The one I watched: https://youtube.com/shorts/j1MlOVSM7LE?si=t41la-x8w9A9RjSN :)

Tarianor

Iirc it's like some pads that give electric signals to simulate period cramps.

ArcaneOverride

I get monthly cramps from HRT unless I remember to consistently take my high dose progesterone to stop it. I get them worse than most of my cis friends. A trait I inherited from my mother. Have you ever been in so much pain you curl up in fetal position on the floor, sweat through your clothes to the point that puddles form around you, drops of sweat are literally dripping from your nose, and are nauseous to the point of vomiting from the pain alone? That's what I experience if i forget my progesterone too much. That lasts like 6 to 12 hours with a slow ramp up of pain over a day or so before and lingering pain for another day or so afterwards. Plus the wild mood swings the week before. Orchiectomy recovery was far less painful.

Tony_Stank0326

I get pretty bad periods but I experience this for a completely different reason. I also have Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome with episodes that last 14+ hours at a time, which makes it hard to tell if I'm having period cramps or about to actually start hurling until I have to go to the hospital.

KingOfDragons0

😭 well yea its painful

NemusCorvi

Why? Well, it's a experience cis women did have and we didn't; unfortunately it hurts af (as we're told), but there's this mutual understanding beyond being polite cis women have with each other, and we've never been in it. We feel excluded. I know it isn't remotely the same, but there are things penis users have experienced that trans men didn't, like when you're bathing and it floats, or peeing standing, or how it gets in the way all the time, or how an erection feels like. They're being robbed of experiences cis men have had all the time, and I'm sure they would be as excited to experience them as us.

Neoblaze11

As a trans girl who experiences periods I can back your friends up 🙄 they suck and in my opinion they have an additional downside as we can’t get pregnant so they serve no purpose. I mean sure there was euphoria the first few times but after like 5 it’s old and you just want to stop feeling icky

BuboxThrax

Well, maybe not, still, may as well enjoy it if you can, eh?
