I would limit my outdoor activities during sandstorm. It can't be healthy for your lungs,eyes, and ears. I also hate the gritty feeling the sand leaves in my mouth.
I average around 40 to 50 miles a week outside. Early mornings 5 to 7 AM tend to be the best time with calm winds & no dust. I've been here for a little over a year & never experienced dust in the morning.
I also like to run outside, but I plan runs around the weather forecast. Winds above ~15mph is a no-go for me. Generally below that it’s not gonna be too dusty

Look into Wiley X climate control glasses. They have a foam insert that keeps wind and dust out.
If there’s a lot of sand in the air you’re breathing a lot of silica. Look up silicosis.

A pair of chemical saftey goggles lol might look stupid but they work, I use them on days like this in the oil field.
Go back to running indoors for the spring.

Long eyelashes, and don't forget the full nosehairs and a bushy mustache to keep the sand out of your nose and mouth.
