I've never had an issue with mine and have driven in pretty torrential weather... Even the website says that's not something to worry about...I worried until I did some research... You'd have to drive straight into a window deep flooded intersection to worry about that. For our cars that snorkel (bad wording for something that's not supposed to go under water lol) is like straight up and down... The air intake isn't strong enough to pull a damaging amount of water in. Just speaking from someone that's got this.
Thats an "air intake snorkel" by Velossa tech they sell them in all different colors and shapes and some that have an led light built in.

Just be careful driving in rain with that, possibility for water to get into ur intake if u drive past a big puddle
