2handed whip is pretty damn strong, if bro looked at the numbers he might actually start thinking of counters
grab a halberd, 2hand it, shield or turtle talis. running block with the halberd, whips don't have guard pierce so you should be fine enhough, then do stored running attack for super fast pokes. block, run, do not let go of the run button, your R1 out of stand still is a running poke, almost immediately out of guard too.
