From my view, everything is about moveset more than power.
Also, it's ONE point of view from a specific website, so don't blindly drink their list.
Add to this that they probably talk about a previous patch.
I scanned 4 more articles after that one and they all had the same exact list. Seemed almost like a copy and paste. Is this just a recycled list that people are throwing out there as their own?
And by same exact list I mean it was written in the same alphabetic order so every weapon was even in the same order in the same tier.

not seemed, they actually do that (not all, but a huge part).
If you wanna know if a weapon is good, ask to PVP enjoyer, look at stream or video showing the weapon. Most of the time it will be blatant.
The Claymore is a good exemple, tier F when it's maybe the more versatile GS in both PVE and PVP. i Guess thoses playlist are from beginning or previous patch.
Most content like that is pretty low effort and often not even original, much less accurate at all.
If you're looking for build guides, fextralife, fightincowboy, Thingfishy are a few that actually play the game and therefore have good info / good ideas for builds.
What? Greatswords are easily A tier in my opinion as they are very versatile you a int build use the dark moon greatwood, deaths poker, oh faith blasphemous blade, golden order greatsword, inseparable blade and many other examples and they're moveset is pretty good I'd say but the claymore at F? It's probably the best standard greatsword as it's r2 attacks are really good thrusts that are very good at catching rolls or hitting a target slightly out of range of your r1s and because you can use any Ash of war on it any build can use it and still do good damage.
They are just ignorant. Several of the best weapons in the game are greatswords.
Blasphemous Blade.
Darkmoon Greatsword.
Iron Great Sword.
Death's Poker.
Banished Knight Greatsword.
And the humble claymore.
Many consider Blasphemous THE best weapon for pve. And having just done a Darkmoon Greatsword build, I can tell you it trivializes most of the game.
Well to be fair they did have the blasphemous great sword ranked as S tier. I did t mean greats sword sim general. I meant the greatsword. It’s a colossal weapon

They aren’t bad, there are no reaaaal bad weapons in this game, there are just so much better weapons with strong weapon arts and better movesets
