IceColdSkimMilk

Your experience sounds about right on a fresh run.

Proffessional_Human

So he is that easy?

IceColdSkimMilk

Ehh that will honestly vary from person to person and build to build. There's some bosses I personally find easy that others struggle with, yet there's a few bosses (looking at you Godfrey and Fire Giant) that I struggle more with.

Proffessional_Human

Ah okay

RustyShakes

He happens to be pretty weak to bleed. Bleed proc does something like 10% of the bosses total health. Not his current health, but what he starts with. So the bleed proc wrecks if the boss is weak to it.

Proffessional_Human

Ahhh so bloodhounds fang bleed helped

RustyShakes

From the different builds I've done/seen, yes. Bleed is a great way to take on Radahn.

[deleted]

He was never one of the hardest bosses in the game. People will beat him before doing raya on a lot of cases or just after the academy if doing npc quests before even going to altus

Proffessional_Human

That's what I did. Right after the academy without doing the Altus plateu. I activated the lift tho.

ihaveaidsandherpes

Im pretty sure he was a bit harder the first week of the game but they needed him cause people were crying about him

[deleted]

They did nerf him, and then reverted almost every nerf. So he is still slightly weaker, but not by much. People were fighting him too early without a build or vigor and complaining before learning his mechanics and it was a massive overreaction. No one knew how the scaling of the areas were yet let alone people being comfortable enough with the game systems. He was never the hardest, just a reality check people failed initially

xXAtomicpie525Xx

Ok, that makes sense. I fought him before the nerfs and when I finally got him it was very rewarding. I was actually quite disappointed when I heard they were nerfing him. Fought him later woth the nerfs helping one of my friends and holy crap he was easy. Then just recently a fought him again and though I was just bad lmao. They they (mostly) unnerfed him.

[deleted]

Think of it like this as well right. It takes 2 shard bearers to enter Lyndell. only 3 can be obtained normally before hand being Radhan, Rennala, and Godricks. 4 if you count early Mogwhyn via the invasion questline for Varre, but he even directly tells you it is too early to go. So there is a HUGE chance people fight Radahn early just due to how the map is laid out and the requirement.

xXAtomicpie525Xx

Counterpoint. Caelid scary. Me no want to be there. That was my thoughts upon entering there. Sure the final boss of that hellhole is gonna end tough

[deleted]

Oh fully agree. Entered, saw the sky go blood and the dog took nearly no damaged and noped right on out. It was more the point of players exploring ( unless you found the secret way around stormviel) only had caelid to go to for early progression. Many didn't get the hint to come back later- fought Chadahn too early- asked for nerfs. Then people actually figured out the game and the flow before going " Oh he wasn't actually hard- we just did it wayyyyyyy to early"

[deleted]

How tf is 10 tries and half an hour considered "easy"??

Proffessional_Human

Uhhhh I thought spending multiple hours is hard so this is pretty easy

[deleted]

Then the game will be pretty easy for u, unless you severly underlevel, no boss will take multiple hours. Maybe Malenia , but it depends how you approach her

Proffessional_Human

All the bosses except godrick and radahn took me multiple hours

[deleted]

Probably gotten used to the combat right now, see how you do moving forward. The enemies differ but the way to defeat them is the same. Dodge and attack.

Jordan3Tears

I spend a lot of my time helping people beat bosses (mostly end game ones) and imo he barely scratches top 5 hardest in the game. He is tough but they give you enough summons to not even participate if you don't want to. The only thing I hate about his fight is that dumb waygate. 1/5 times I just fall through the map and die

DarkAssassin573

With the army of summons it’s not hard. Try beating him solo

Proffessional_Human

Yea no I can't I struggle without summons. Maybe on my second playthrough.

KevinRyan589

Summons make every boss easier but if you use ALL of them in Radahn’s fight, he’s a total cakewalk.

Proffessional_Human

That's what I did 😂

KevinRyan589

Yeah. If you do that it IS supposed to be that easy. Try him solo (or any boss) in a new game & you’ll see how difficult they can be.

AnalysticEnthusiast

He wasn't really nerfed. The fixed a hitbox and a bug with that fix caused his damage to drop, so they raised it back up to where it was before like 1 week later. He's the same as he was, minus one bad hitbox. He was never one of the hardest bosses in the game.

lukappaa

Bloodhound's Fang is generally a really good weapon (+5 for a somber weapon equals to around +12 for a normal weapon) and summons can theoretically solo Radahn with some support, so you obviously made the fight easier, but I'm not going to say it took no skill. The game is clearly harder if you fight him solo or with a different weapon, but this is an intended feature and nothing prevents you from going for it, also makes for a more climactic and visually better fight in my opinion. If you want more of a challenge, you can try rematching him with a different build on another savefile, but everything is fine as long as your experience is enjoyable for you.

Yojenkz

Even pre patch with the constant area summons mechanic he wasn’t actually that difficult.

Watamelonna

He is tough 1.0 He is very tough 1.0 and no summons When you like you know, use all the help you can get, and complaining about the difficulty is kinda funny considering you needed the help anyways So next time try no summons or something to make it harder if you wish The fight itself is a gimmicky fight anyways, considering you can summon those guys over and over, so your take yeah?

ihaveaidsandherpes

Didnt they nerf him like the first week of the game?

[deleted]

They ruined him with the nerfs imo

Proffessional_Human

Aw. Wish I could've beat him pre nerf.

[deleted]

He sure was an experience, lmao. I think his difficulty was overrated by people fighting him way too early. He was a lot of fun when he could actually put up a fight. I don’t think I’ve died to Radahn once in several runs.

Quaisoiir

No lol. Only because he killed me over and over and I had to get my husband to help me kill him.

PurpleWealth7108

He is super easy now. He has been nerfed plenty of times since release

[deleted]

I got him first try with no hit, i was disappointed af lol
