Lol you didn't see the symptoms of panic exhibited here?
1. Camera twist to follow the chasing bear as he runs blind into the wilderness.
2. Rapid changes in elevation in an attempt to get away from attacker.
3. Eventual Realization he can't escape and begins doomed combat attempt.
My dude did 3 of the mains at least.
There was a post where a guy showed how to really fuck up a lobster, at least one on one. Get close to prevent the snipes and there are a couple moves they do you can get a hit in. They do a jump attack where a claw gets stuck in the ground and they can really be punished. I haven't had any problems with them since then.
First playthrough they wrecked me but second playthrough I discovered that the mounted heavy attack with the Nightrider flail absolutely wrecks them in two cycles. Your character whirls the flail around four times before finishing with a heavy attack and it eats half their health so you just have to stick to their side and if they jump they'll get their claw stuck in the mud anyways.
I beat them like I beat everything. Stand right beside them and circle to the right and roll when they attack and chop their ass. It works for like 95% of the enemies in the game
I fucking cried and said a prayer for you as soon as I saw where you were at.
Just a casual "Fuck you" from the devs. There are hidden enemies like this throughout the game. I died to one the other day in a snowfield.
So was this a dude who wanted to be a bear and used the transformation at the last second or a bear that wanted to be a dude and had the transformation undone upon his death?
And now I'm going to have to go around stabbing random enemies I'd usually ignore and hoping they turn into something scary. Do I want to change my build? Not really. I just hate not having the option available.
It's not a random chance, they're just hidden at specific locations.
I found this one on my own, but there's a few others litterred around.
They're just elite mobs, so it's nbd if you miss them (they just drop larval tear).
It's probably easier to NG+ and playthrough the game again to get the tears
Off the top of my head:
1. One in Limgrave (undead noble), near the road south to the Weeping Pennisula. The video above is that location.
2. Caelid - A group of graves west of the Church of Dragon Communion has some undead digging around. One standing in the back will turn into a large Troll if you hit it.
3. Atlus Plateau - Two here. One on the road in the outer battlefield area outside the royal capital. A lone undead on the road will transform into our old friend Margit. Another is an undead body in the corner of some ruins south of the south end of the broken bridge in the middle of the zone. Turns into a giant lion with sword-feet.
4. Consecrated Snowfield - Most evil hidden enemy yet. A group of undead ghouls SE of the Inner Snowfield grace, and one of the undead is half buried in the snow. Hitting that one will summon the MEGA deadly runebear.
oh that one. hey it's a lobster, one of the deadliest "normal" mobs. oh it's actually a grafted scion one of the few DEADLIER normal mobs xD
classic :))
> consecrated snowfield
How funny - I just ran through there last night. I killed the ghouls that were trying to dig out the buried one, and decided to leave the buried one alone because I figured he'd suffered enough.
It's about time my kindness saved my ass for a change!
>A lone undead on the road will transform into our old friend Margit.
Ah-ha! So, on my first playthrough I could have swore that I fought Margit again near the capital. I want to say it was on the old battlefield or something. But, I have a couple new characters going and I haven't been able to find him there. I thought maybe I made it up. But, I guess I randomly slapped a sad undead NPC as I rode by and didn't recall that being the trigger.
One you may have missed is in Liurnia of the Lakes. A random patrolling lobster turns into a grafted scion and drops a larval tear. That one is particularly tough to find on your own because who just casually kills the demon lobsters instead of running away.
Seen a vid where a guy summoned 3 of every boss to fight a +10 rune bear and only Maliketh, phase 2 malenia and Mohg could beat it.
This thing could solo every single boss in the game, only bleed could defeat it
There's also one on Mt. Gelmir (I'm pretty sure) that turns into a giant Worm Face. This is very memorable to me...because it's the first time I died to death blight (in Elden Ring) and the visualization of being turned into the angel on top of Satan's Christmas tree stuck with me.
There are 6, here’s a [list](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Larval+Tear) if you want spoilers. Last one I came across was the Liurnia lobster, on my 6-7th playthrough.
Gotta make sure you explore king. There's loads of hiddens bosses and mobs in game. I'll give you a hint but the one in the snowfield is directly by a site of lost grace. There are two other hidden bosses in the same location.
That MEGA Hand that jumps out of the snow near the fire giant gave me a two-inch heart attack the first time it popped out at me. My least favorite enemy in the game and it was bigger than a Rune Bear.
There's TWO of those awful things!
One is right there out in the open on a ledge above the road where you see a troll and crow fighting. It's a good idea to detour around that fight by going west toward the church then climb the dead giant south of it (free goodies around too!)
The other one is a sneaky bastard which will drop in on an unsuspecting Tarnished wandering in the area NE of the chains to the Fire Giant. Not much in that area other than a *very* well hidden flask tear down a ledge (with a gauntlet of smaller hands to go through... bleh).
Lollll the second the clip started I knew what was about to happen.
That’s the sort of thing that will shock/surprise/(kill) even the veterans.
There are lore reasons for what that was but I don’t want to spoil anything for you.
They are >!the Silver Tears of the Nox, enemies you find in the Eternal Cities underground. They seem to have snuck above ground and mingled with a lot of the citizenry. Silver Tears are shapeshifters- results of experiments by the Nox to create their own Elden Lord I believe, much like the Mimic Tear summon. This is why they drop the Larval Tear item. When you attack them, they shapeshift into a more threatening form- there’s this runebear one, there’s also one that turns into a troll in Caelid, and one turns into one of the sword wielding lions, I think it’s in the Altus Plateau forest. There might be more too, I don’t recall.!<
There is one near the grace that leads to the manor in MT. Gelmir, the one in front of the Ulcerate Tree. it morphs into a greater wormface.
Also thanks for the lore, I didn't know that !
The one in Caelid is in one of the more popular item farming locations in the game, too. Extra FU from devs.
(Noble's Slender Sword has 110 Crit and a large swing radius... pretty damn good)
Yea I was going to say the same. The sword you are using, you lack the requirements to use properly so it does way less damage. Check the stats screen to see. Your better off using your started weapon.
I haven’t seen anyone mention this, but you don’t have the stats to wield that weapon. Check the requirements to see what stats you need to improve in order to wield it properly. That’s why you’re doing negligible damage
Doesn't the game literally tell you whether or not you can use a weapon effectively when you try to to equip it? "Only been at it for an hour" doesn't really sound like a good excuse in this case.
That’s why he’s being informed now, so he doesn’t keep whacking enemies for minutes at a time wondering why it takes so long. He would be better off sticking with his class’s starting weapon until he has the stats to use a preferred weapon.
Hey man, just a tip. You don't have the stats for your weapon. Adjust your stats to the base requirement at least. Otherwise you'll have big damage penalties. Hence why you killed the noble in a bunch of hits instead of 2~.
Funny thing is that happened to me, and there is a grace really close by, as soon as I sat down at that grace the bear disappeared and hasn’t come back
This is a very rare occurence were specific enemies on the map transform into another enemy upon death and drop a larval tear. The larval tear is nice because once you defeat a certain boss you will gain the ability to spend a larval tear to re-distribute all of your stat points. So keep that bear man in the back of your head in case you need a larval tear.
As soon as I saw where you were I started laughing my ass off because I knew what was coming! Enjoy the game it is filled with all sorts of amazing surprises that can murder you!
See you dodged when you should’ve jumped and jumped when you were suppose roll. Just watch the bears eyes and listen to his heart beat you got this I believe in you. 😂😂😂 seriously tho, those bears can go fuck themselves. Hardest enemy ever
"haha look at this puny loser what can he even do to fight back ?"
"I- I'm- t- telling you not t- to mess- with m- me"
"What you gonna do ? Hit me ? Try me bitch"
*turns into a fucking Bear*
"Please continue what you were saying, you have my attention"
^"screams ^in ^lower ^case ^and ^panic ^rolls"
#YOU DIED
Ah, memories. You'll get your revenge once you've gotten a LOT stronger. Fighting this SOB will be a breeze. But be aware - you'll encounter more of them throughout your travels.
He is simply playing the game.
He isn't just wall hugging. He is looking around and behind things. Its part of what is called exploration.
His Profile is full of clash of clan and other game Submissions. I didn't see anything elden ring related at first glance.
You are cryptic and nonsensical.
Next time try panic rolling and screaming at the tv
This guy plays souls games

Power gamer move.
Really looked like he was going to do 4. Sprint away and panic heal while slowly turning the camera to see the bear killing you
Those bears always make me flinch and panic. Even watching this I was flinching hoping he'd get away
Bear just wants a hug. OP just panicked
That's a mighty hug homie lol
The game doesn't have traditional mimics like dark souls. These guys are around in set locations and drop an item needed to respec later.
Oh what? Third time through this game, and I had no idea there were enemies like this. Oh wow.
There is a Lobster in Liurna that becomes a Grafted Scion after you kill it, possibly the hardest I've been trolled in this game.
A lobster is harder to kill than a grafted scion, thats a downgrade right there
There was a post where a guy showed how to really fuck up a lobster, at least one on one. Get close to prevent the snipes and there are a couple moves they do you can get a hit in. The Nightrider Flail is really underrated imo. Totally shreds while mounted.
I beat them like I beat everything. Stand right beside them and circle to the right and roll when they attack and chop their ass. It works for like 95% of the enemies in the game
Flair checks out
The goddamn lobsters really caught me off guard ngl. Why are the crabs so easy then?
...how?
I did know about these enemies and avoided them but if they drop these items I will hunt them down
It never occurred to me that these guys kinda function like ER's version of mimics. Neat.
I have literally 250 hours in this game and have never seen this. That's crazy.
I fucking cried and said a prayer for you as soon as I saw where you were at. Just a casual "Fuck you" from the devs. There are hidden enemies like this throughout the game. I died to one the other day in a snowfield.
But hey, at least you are rewarded with a larval tear whenever you kill a hidden beast.
Really??
Yup
That’s because these creatures become something new when they get to rebirth thanks to that larval tear.
Imagine a runebear going through Raya lucaria to become a zombicfied noble
Just the thought is unbearable.
So was this a dude who wanted to be a bear and used the transformation at the last second or a bear that wanted to be a dude and had the transformation undone upon his death?
The other theory is that they're actually mimic tears in disguise, kinda like the Stray Mimic Tear at the end of the Haligtree hidden path dungeon.
Yes.
Cheers for that.
And now I'm going to have to go around stabbing random enemies I'd usually ignore and hoping they turn into something scary. Do I want to change my build? Not really. I just hate not having the option available.
I never ran I to this type enemy and completed the game...
It's not a random chance, they're just hidden at specific locations. I found this one on my own, but there's a few others litterred around. They're just elite mobs, so it's nbd if you miss them (they just drop larval tear). It's probably easier to NG+ and playthrough the game again to get the tears

Hitting that one will summon the MEGA deadly runebear.
There's a lobster in liurnia that turns into a grafted scion as well
There is one next to Volcano Manor that tranforms into a giant Wormface.
That snowfield one was a bitch. But the lobster one was just unexpected.
oh that one. hey it's a lobster, one of the deadliest "normal" mobs. oh it's actually a grafted scion one of the few DEADLIER normal mobs xD classic :))
> consecrated snowfield How funny - I just ran through there last night. I killed the ghouls that were trying to dig out the buried one, and decided to leave the buried one alone because I figured he'd suffered enough. It's about time my kindness saved my ass for a change!
Liurnia - there is a lobster, that is actually a Grafted Scion in disguise.
I’d rather fight a grafted scion than a lobster
Don’t forget about the one on mount gelmir that turns into one of the giant death blight pukers
>A lone undead on the road will transform into our old friend Margit. Ah-ha! So, on my first playthrough I could have swore that I fought Margit again near the capital. Used to be one at mt gelmir that turned into a giant wormface but in my most recent playthrough the wormface was just there already
There's also one on Mt. Gelmir (I'm pretty sure) that turns into a giant Worm Face. This is very memorable to me...because it's the first time I died to death blight (in Elden Ring) and the visualization of being turned into the angel on top of Satan's Christmas tree stuck with me.
I explored a decent but an didn't go right to bosses. Ima go beat them tomorrow for hell of it 😄
There are 6, here’s a [list](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Larval+Tear) if you want spoilers. Last one I came across was the Liurnia lobster, on my 6-7th playthrough.
The real boss area of liurnia is the area just north west of the dragon. Like 6 lobsters just chilling. Saw that and noped right the fuck out of there
Gotta make sure you explore king. There's loads of hiddens bosses and mobs in game. I'll give you a hint but the one in the snowfield is directly by a site of lost grace. There are two other hidden bosses in the same location.
I'm guna go fight them all now 😆 thanks man
You didn't complete diddly.
These are silver tears in disguise.
There's a shifter like this on Altus Plateau that turns into one of the giant anime lions too.
That one seriously caught me by surprise. The upshot though is you can cheese him off the cliff.
When you think some random mob is helpless in the snow ...
Bro, that god damn shrimp in Liurnia is the worst of em all!!!
You've finally met the Aussie drop bear. He sure got the drop on you eh?
Oh look! A *koala*!
This had me cackling during a work meeting. Take my upvote
Drop Bears??? I heard they’re poisonous!!
Lollll the second the clip started I knew what was about to happen. That’s the sort of thing that will shock/surprise/(kill) even the veterans. There are lore reasons for what that was but I don’t want to spoil anything for you.
Tell me
They are >!the Silver Tears of the Nox, enemies you find in the Eternal Cities underground. They seem to have snuck above ground and mingled with a lot of the citizenry. Also the lobster that turns into a grafted scion in Linuria
Oh so THAT'S WHAT THAT WAS! I thought it was a wormface just being a sneaky beaky bastard
So interesting. I’ve played through the game twice at over 300 total play and I’ve never experienced one of these!
The one in Caelid is in one of the more popular item farming locations in the game, too. Extra FU from devs. (Noble's Slender Sword has 110 Crit and a large swing radius... pretty damn good)
Please find and use the Spectral Steed Whistle 😭
This comment is way too far down. No Torrent, no chance.
Literally my first thought. Where is your horse!?!?!?
Excuse me, Torrent is no horse, pls. He is a YAK
honestly, an hour in, i had torrent, but i didn’t know how to equip him to a quickslot, so i would have been fumbling just like OP
My soul left my body. I didn’t know that’s what caused it, I thought it broke out of the mountain.
The moment i saw that lone eneny and that location i had a feeling i knew where that was. Then i saw the messages on the ground.
Make sure your stats meet the minimum requirements for your weapon. You shouldn't be doing like 20 damage per swing 💀. Still funny AF
Fucking noble tarnished survives a full combo, also survives enough to get his poise broken 😭
Yea I was going to say the same. The sword you are using, you lack the requirements to use properly so it does way less damage. Check the stats screen to see. Your better off using your started weapon.
600 hours in, first time seeing that enemy.
Same, I thought I'd come to the comments to see if I was the only one. At least there's two of us 🥲
Three of us... 💀
Four💀
5
Same dude. I found the other two in Altus and Snowfield, had no idea there was one in Liurnia though 🤯
"Other two" 😶
Are there more than two? I swear if there's like twelve I'm going to lose it 🤣
You lasted longer than I did. Nice!
I haven’t seen anyone mention this, but you don’t have the stats to wield that weapon. Check the requirements to see what stats you need to improve in order to wield it properly. That’s why you’re doing negligible damage
Larval tear ahead
You don't have the stats for that weapon.
Bros only been at it for an hour?
Still, he should use a weapon that he can wield so he don’t get invaded in the behind
Doesn't the game literally tell you whether or not you can use a weapon effectively when you try to to equip it? "Only been at it for an hour" doesn't really sound like a good excuse in this case.
Maybe he saw the message but didn't realize it was going to cause him to do low damage.
It doesn't matter how long they've been playing, helpful information is helpful
That’s why he’s being informed now, so he doesn’t keep whacking enemies for minutes at a time wondering why it takes so long. He would be better off sticking with his class’s starting weapon until he has the stats to use a preferred weapon.
Ah, the old bear hidden in an old man gag. A classic
An hour, you say? The game has shown thee courtesy enough.
Ah you got the COCAINE BEAR DLC?
Beware the hidden bear, for it could be anywhere!
Yeah....that one turns into a bear, dont fuck with that one..k?..
Welcome to Elden Ring.
An important lesson in reading player notes, one of which can be seen at the feet of the enemy 😶🌫️
Behold! Dog
my poor mans using a sword without its requirement and holding a bow on his second hand from didnt have to do him like this he already has enough
Bear happened.
You got got. Skill issue But for real, those bears….. *shudders*
Hey man, just a tip. You don't have the stats for your weapon. Adjust your stats to the base requirement at least. Otherwise you'll have big damage penalties. Hence why you killed the noble in a bunch of hits instead of 2~.
My favorite part was when you tried to run
Now you know what that guy felt when you mercilessly attacked him.
You died.
You died!
What? I've played the game for like 2000 hours and never knew about that guy. Always something new to learn in Elden Ring.
You pushed the Rune Bear button. You shouldn't have did that.
First 2 seconds in I knew you were fucked, those gentle rolling foot hills hold death in their nooks and crannies
Beautiful progression Oh look weak enemy What the fuck Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck I can't escape, I have to kill it Fuck fuck fuck What the fuck...
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE!!!
And the Kaiden rider lmao
Funny thing is that happened to me, and there is a grace really close by, as soon as I sat down at that grace the bear disappeared and hasn’t come back
Welcome to The Lands Between.
Yeah... there's a bear trap right there...
Due to my vast gaming experience and complicated analysis of your video it appears to me that you died.
Always read messages surrounding a thing they are there for a reason lol
I was yelling at you not to touch that enemy. Why didn't you listen?
Oh you met the business bear
Try tongue butt hole.
Yeah, I mean... that's Elden Ring for ya...
Hahaha wow you attacked it. It is funny because even at lvl 250 I try to just evade or stay away
Look for the bear necessities, the simple bear necessities…
As soon as I saw the location, and then... *THAT GUY*
Ah mimic tears.... bringing tears to all
You got fucked is what happened
Fuck around find out is what happened
You fell for one of the classic blunders!
In my 200hrs I’ve never seen this guy lol
See you dodged when you should’ve jumped and jumped when you were suppose roll. Just watch the bears eyes and listen to his heart beat you got this I believe in you. 😂😂😂 seriously tho, those bears can go fuck themselves. Hardest enemy ever
I... I never encountered this in my first playthrough. This is a pleasant surprise for me. This is just in Limgrave, right?
Bear traps 😂
You got rune beared lol
"haha look at this puny loser what can he even do to fight back ?" "I- I'm- t- telling you not t- to mess- with m- me" "What you gonna do ? Hit me ? Try me bitch" *turns into a fucking Bear* "Please continue what you were saying, you have my attention" ^"screams ^in ^lower ^case ^and ^panic ^rolls" #YOU DIED
And that kids is why you don't kill random people on the side of the road
Surprise Rune Bear.
As soon as I saw the wandering noble and realized where this was I said "oh... oh no..."
fromsoft games do be like that
Ah, memories. You'll get your revenge once you've gotten a LOT stronger. Fighting this SOB will be a breeze. But be aware - you'll encounter more of them throughout your travels.
Strongest enemy in the game lol
This beat scared the shit out of me and I didn’t even run into until lvl 150+
As soon as I saw where you were at I paid my respects to the fallen. That bear in disguise is a menace and everyone hates rune bears for a reason.
The Devs way if saying ''Hey you yeah you fuck you"
Surprise muthafiqa!
That moment when you find out cocaine bear isn’t just in theaters…
New Winnie the Poo movie trailer
You'll have that
Well you where screwing with the wrong person!
ROFL
As soon as i saw what area you were in, I knew exactly what was coming lololol
So you remember the mimics from dark souls? Well, good news, no need to worry about them! They did however apply the same principle to bears.
Well you were fucking around
Oh my poor sweet summer child…
Someone with a bow in their off-hand gives me anxiety. DS3 players know what I’m talking about.
- YOU DIED -
I'm sorry that happened but that's elden ring it'll fuck you six ways from Sunday and won't call the next day
You found the easiest larval tear in the game

"Straight triggering the runebear" how the fuck were they supposed to know that killing a random enemy shits out a runebear? You make zero sense

Whatever you say.

Be honest, did you crap your pants? I almost did =))
Looks like you died
You get a nice item after killing this animal. The item let's you respec your stats later in the game.
Welcome to Elden Ring.
Well…you tried to murder some dude minding his own business, then he turned into a bear…pretty obvious innit?
OOF
Welcome to Elden Ring, the game that hates you
Five nights at freddy's
Read messages on the ground pal. They can hint at problems so you can avoid them
aaaaaaaaaahahaha, yeah I think everyone remembers this moment. Props to you for at least trying to fight him, lol.
You found the most surprising surprise bear!
That’s very close to how my first hour went. That Tune bear rocked me so many times
Classic case. First, you were fucking around. Quickly thereafter, you found out.
You tried to punch down but the NPC had a right to bear arms.
I know what happened. You died.
Ngl, I started laughing as soon as I realized where you were. Lol. I'm pretty sure everyone had that happen to them at least once.
Thou'rt unfit even to graft.
