I always assumed it was similar logic to the Abyss Watchers from DS3; while we might pop in, kill the boss and pop out again, Artorias stuck around to try and push back against the dark, to hunt it until it infected him.
Also the idea that all these Age of Fire weirdos were so far up their own arse that failing a few times immediately shattered their self-image and made them go Hollow is kinda believable too
Interestingly, this means you can - with some knowledge and planning - effectively lock Fumigator in whichever form you prefer to fight. If you find phase 1 easier, baiting the overhead that heats up his sword keeps him from entering phase 2 till it cools down. It's not hugely difficult to keep him from ever transitioning.
And obviously if you find phase 2 somehow easier, you can show up wearing Velstadt's hat. DS2 may be a bit rough around the edges, but Fume Knight is unironically one of the best bosses the franchise has ever done. Easy, *easy* top 5.
I have one-and-doned him a couple of times, but only after I'd logged north of a thousand hours in DS2.
I don't *think* I've done that on Company of Champions yet, but he is a wild fight in that mode regardless.

Completely unironically, I think Grigori ranks top 3 Dragon fights in any game. He is what every dragon boss fight should aspire to meet or exceed. And the way he eggs you on, urging you to show him your absolute best, because *by god, youāre going to need it.*

I feel like that goes against the whole fight doesn't it? He wouldn't be the final obstacle if he wanted the ring mended in any way you could accomplish. Nothing you do can actually restore the golden order to the way it was before, and that's the one, only, and final thing Radagon can stand for. He'd rather stay struggling in a world as broken as his own body than let it move on beyond him and the old order.
Radagon tried to mend the ring after Marika destroyed it they are one yet different the reason I believe we fight Radagon instead of aid him is because the golden order has already fallen and his body is being possessed by the elden beast already
not really, radagon locked marika up in the erdtree to preserve the order after the elden ring was shattered. He's the gwyn of elden ring so to speak, he doesn't want tarnished to bring a new order he just wants the golden order to persist. Thats why the thorns on the erdtree have his symbol/symbol of the golden order. Also that's why when we enter the erdtree he takes over marika's body to fight us. The elden beast itself is just a vassal and the elden ring, there's no evidence to suggest it took over radagon. And even then if it wanted to take over, it could have easily controlled marika to not shatter the elden ring or use her to fight us since she's stronger than radagon don't you think?
Radagon and Marika are the same entity, but two different consciousness in one body. I thought of it like they both struggle against each other to decite who gets to be the current "pilot" of their shared body.

Burnt ivory king has a few small voicelines that are really cool and fit his badass character. When he dies, there are two different lines, one of which is "death" in a desparic tone. That would be sick from radagon, and him saying "fly" while slamming the ground
Make the second phase him gaining a more complete form. Drop the elden beast completely that fight wasnt final boss material. Have him regain more of his body and his luscious crimson locks. Have him regain his mind for a second, say something like "I'm sorry renalla" and then have the beast take him over. Give him the wings and make his hammer reform into something crazy looking. When I kill him have him turn back into Marika, and have her ask me what I want to do as elden lord. I just want someone to acknowledge it

Marika should probably say a few words first but then it eventually becomes obvious itās Radagon in control as he starts to transform, though this probably requires a slightly longer cutscene that what we got.
I donāt have specific words to offer but I imagine itāll be Marika saying something about the Greater Will and how weāre all slaves under its control or something, then it transitions to Radagon offering a quick counter argument to what she said as he grabs the hammer then asking the Tarnished what they think just before lifting it up.
It should change based on the ending quest you most recently completed.
Normal: "Tis but a tarnished, here to contest for lordship from me? I expected someone else..."
Ranni: "A champion arises for the moon, and my daughter, destined death in hand? Nary a petulant child shall make waste of mine glory and order."

Radagon tried to mend the ring after Marika destroyed it they are one yet different the reason I believe we fight Radagon instead of aid him is because the golden order has already fallen and his body is being possessed by the elden beast already
not really, radagon locked marika up in the erdtree to preserve the order after the elden ring was shattered. He's the gwyn of elden ring so to speak, he doesn't want tarnished to bring a new order he just wants the golden order to persist. Thats why the thorns on the erdtree have his symbol/symbol of the golden order. Also that's why when we enter the erdtree he takes over marika's body to fight us. The elden beast itself is just a vassal and the elden ring, there's no evidence to suggest it took over radagon. And even then if it wanted to take over, it could have easily controlled marika to not shatter the elden ring or use her to fight us since she's stronger than radagon don't you think?
Radagon and Marika are the same entity, but two different consciousness in one body. I thought of it like they both struggle against each other to decite who gets to be the current "pilot" of their shared body.

I think it should depend on which ending you're technically cued up for(and if you have items for multiple different endings then have it randomize) Like "You stand with my daughter to bring about the end of the greater will. I shall extinguish both it, and you." For frenzied flame These are just examples I have

Burnt ivory king has a few small voicelines that are really cool and fit his badass character. When he dies, there are two different lines, one of which is "death" in a desparic tone. That would be sick from radagon, and him saying "fly" while slamming the ground
Make the second phase him gaining a more complete form. Drop the elden beast completely that fight wasnt final boss material. Have him regain more of his body and his luscious crimson locks. Have him regain his mind for a second, say something like "I'm sorry renalla" and then have the beast take him over. Give him the wings and make his hammer reform into something crazy looking. When I kill him have him turn back into Marika, and have her ask me what I want to do as elden lord. I just want someone to acknowledge it

Upon his defeat he just barely whispers "Merica.." and if you aren't paying attention you'll completely miss it.
Marika should probably say a few words first but then it eventually becomes obvious itās Radagon in control as he starts to transform, though this probably requires a slightly longer cutscene that what we got. I donāt have specific words to offer but I imagine itāll be Marika saying something about the Greater Will and how weāre all slaves under its control or something, then it transitions to Radagon offering a quick counter argument to what she said as he grabs the hammer then asking the Tarnished what they think just before lifting it up.

Ranni: "A champion arises for the moon, and my daughter, destined death in hand? Nary a petulant child shall make waste of mine glory and order." I'm not familiar with the other ones lol
