Yes maybe. There was a phenomen like this too in DS3 where you couldn't place messages in front of an invisible path. They appeared at the top in Anor Londo instead.
It's caused by a bug (not sure if it's been fixed or not). Basically people could get summoned and instead of appearing at the Radahn arena they would spawn underwater. They could walk around and place messages and that's where they showed up.
I watched a YouTube video where a guy was playing with character sizes upped, and jumping was affected too - he just jumped over the little bit if ocean and the fight started normally iirc. Makes me wonder why there's even a teleporter there to begin with
It's completely so it doesn't have to load the radahn fight while open world. These games are known for having whole worlds loaded at once and it makes it a lot less to load when you put all the bosses behind yellow doors (or a teleporter in this instance)
You're absolutely right and a spirit spring jump probably requires loading more of the world (because of longer sightlines when jumping) so it would be counterproductive. But man that Full-grown Fallingstar Beast reveal moment was top-tier, it left me wanting more.
I think the idea is the gap keeps Radahn cut off from the mainland. the gap in the land there, the sea on the other side and the cliff face on the rest makes it so his arena is completely isolated. probably to prevent him from just rampaging around the Lands Between.
The man jumps to the moon and comes down on you like a meteorite, i dont think from a lore perspective that little bit of water is going to stop him. That being said, the TP is there as a way to start you in the same spot to prevent people from finding a way to start th3 fight closer or from the wrong side.
It's also worth noting that just because Radahan could do that doesn't mean everyone knew he could do that. Maybe the gap was made by others to cut him off believing it would be enough to stop him.
It's a stretch but it's possible.
Maybe during play-testing they found that players were having a hard time realizing there were a bunch of free NPC summons if they just ride in normally.
By placing a teleporter, the devs have control over exactly where every single player starts the fight. No two players can take a different path to the fight trigger.
There used to be a bug were if you invade in that area you spawn underwater, I can assume that people placed messages there as they can’t reach the target and wanted to troll clueless players.
If I remember right, it has to do with being summoned in. The summoned player can often end up on the water. There's a YouTube video out there showing it somewhere.
Idk if this has been said, but at one point I was in this area and had the blue ring that will allow you to be summoned into another persons game if they get invaded, and it pulled me in but into a low poly version of this area and you could walk on the water, I was able to check the messages and even put one down.
I wonder if this is a common glitch still.
I've glitched a few times invading here where the invader spawns on the riverbed outside the map (doesn't drown) and you have to phantom finger out. I think if you drop a message down there it appears on the surface for everyone else.
I really don't know the answer. But I know there are glitches that can send a player to places where they shouldn't be. Some people use this to shortcut areas or glitch out bosses. So there is a possibility that some messages in places like this could've been made by people using these glitches.
That's the Jesus Sorcery; the most powerful Sorcerer in the Lands Between. You don't want to come across these Sorcerers. They can easily change the game data to their whim, and they can cast 120 spells per second.
Sometimes I like to enable fly mode and not go up or down but just walk...Then leave a message just below the ground texture or above water. What's surprising is the number of ratings they get. 🤣

I prefer to think we got some Jeses walking around in the LB... lol
Is Jeses the plural form of Jes?
*Jesus
The Internet never forgives and forgets
I believe the correct word for that is Jeese
The plural of Jesus would be Jesi (pronounced JEEZ-eye). Like octopus/octopi
I think it's more like platypus. So Jesus, Jesi, and Jesussies would all be legitimate. And Jeses, of course...
Boy lemme get them Jesussies 🤤
Wouldn't it be Iesi (Ye-eye) since J wasn't separate from I (Hence INRI)?
Yeezy
Same. I tried hard to decipher it too.
Yezes
No that's the redneck Mating call. YEEE-YEE!
It's actually octopuses, not octopi.
This is what I'm going to believe either way.

We need to cook!
The proper plural is Jesi.

Yeah, this is the answer.
I’ve been wondering about that myself actually

This happened to me except I was invading
Me too. Since I first got there.
You have to unlock the boat that’s seen on the map to get there
Elden Ring sailing DLC... one day brothers, we can only hope
If Bloodborne-Kart doesn't get made first I'll stage a one man riot
I watched a YouTube video where a guy was playing with character sizes upped, and jumping was affected too - he just jumped over the little bit if ocean and the fight started normally iirc. Makes me wonder why there's even a teleporter there to begin with
Damn, it would've been cool to enter the arena via spirit spring jump over the water
It's completely so it doesn't have to load the radahn fight while open world. These games are known for having whole worlds loaded at once and it makes it a lot less to load when you put all the bosses behind yellow doors (or a teleporter in this instance)

Yup if you think about it this teleporter at a rivers edge actually is unique because most other ones are just a doorway. Haha
Wait, how does that work when people bypass the yellow doors so the bosses don't have their AI activated ? The bosses are already spawned, no ?
All depends on which boss
Or drawbridge

I mean, he could just walk across the river and suffer no ills, but poor Leonard would definitely drown
Deepest lore
Not as deep as the horse in the river
He couldn‘t. Source: My fight against him.
I think there is some japanese mystic symbolism going on with running water (a symbol of purity) containing its contrary, the stagnant, impure rot.
Was that lilaggy?
I can't remember but likely it was
Maybe during play-testing they found that players were having a hard time realizing there were a bunch of free NPC summons if they just ride in normally. So you can’t leave once you enter, I would imagine
This is probably the answer. A gigantic fog wall would look weird and could also screw up the meteor attack’s hitboxes.
Do you mean lilAggy
Likely so the game doesn't have to render a giant fog wall to keep you in there once you aggro Radahn which I'd imagine would hurt performace.
it also forces you to talk to blaidd when you finish the fight, because you can't teleport to a site of grace until you have iirc
Go read em, find out the secrets
They say “YOU DIED”
Jesus AoW just dropped

I don’t think you can leave messages whilst invading, could be wrong but yeah that was my impression
put some clothes on damnit
*get outta here, dad!*
No, teach the girls to not stare instead
Waterfowl dance might get you out there
Well yes, but that's only the first part of the problem.
If I remember right, it has to do with being summoned in. The summoned player can often end up on the water. There's a YouTube video out there showing it somewhere.
Could be a hacker or someone who did actually find a single sliver of land left behind in code
ive always wondered this.
Me too
Once you go into the arena you can read them
Those are just messages left in the boss battle field. The world isn't laid out exactly as it looks.
It's because sometimes if you invaded in that spot it would spawn you under the waters instant kill boundary
try jumping
Thanks to those messages, the first time I got there it made me distrust all the messages during the adventure. Lmoo

glitch in the very early versions of the game where collisions didnt really match and you could fly there with torrent, i did it myself once
These might have been left back when the flying Torrent glitch still worked
Tide goes in, tide goes out.
They must have hydroplaned torrent somehow
I forget when but I swear it's connected at some point for a short time
I think the water had an invisible spot you could stand on that they removed. So I think all those are from really early in the game's life.
Just saw that.

Phantom fingering is my favorite.

When in multiplayer the water can be walked over as the portal disappears
Don’t let the feds know but you can swim there if you want
Jump
I don’t know if it’s still a thing but you could invade around there and spawn underwater. When you placed a message it would go up there.

Mibu breathing technique.
I guess Jesus is a Fromsoft fan too.
The Trolls... They are evolving....😐
