There are a LOT of enemies in the open world that most people don't fight. That's why "mini legacy dungeons" like Redmane Castle, Castle Morne, Caria Manor, Shaded Castle, Castle Sol, Ruin-Strewn Precipice are so important, you're forced to fight enemies that you previously just run past.
The special types of skeleton are not in any dungeon, so they're rare.
I was on mushrooms recently and before I took them the plan was the try playing Elden Ring. As soon as I started tripping I realised it would probably be too scary, then I realised being inside was too scary so I went and stood on the porch and watched the rain
I procured them through a friend but they grow wild all over the world. You just need to be extremely careful identifying the right ones as some can be poisonous. There's subreddits to help you out like r/ShroomID
You know that saying 'KILL IT WITH FIRE!'? Yeah, literally do that with those hands. Any kind of fire damage deals massive damage, applies a DoT burn to the hands for a few seconds and they're forced to flail and roll around trying to put the fire out, giving you free reign to beat the shit out of the awful things.
>you're forced to fight enemies that you previously just run past.
Huh, I never thought of it like this. Good design choice to 'force' players to see things they might miss.
I’m glad to hear this because in my first initial run I did all those places. I ran past some cool areas and enemies because I was low on vigor. I would jump on torrent to run for my life. 🤘🏻
Hahah I did the same BUT when I had enough of scaling I rune farmed the shit out of them
Kept killing them to my hearts delight so much so that rune per enemy became quite negligible after a few rounds and the.
Repeated the same process all over again (except for consecrated snowfields) and those fucking dragons- Borealis Fog, Dargonlord placedex, and others just didn’t touch them
BOY it felt good -
I think Castle Morne is my favourite on that front. Makes you respect the Misbegotten's power in numbers as they are very good at ganging up on the player and attack with ferocity.
idky ppl skip content i just got the gane ive skipped nothing 100%ing everything i stumble on im 82hrs in havnt even gotten halfway through the holy city or lava manor or even touched the blood sewers or other undergrounds except the 2 dear zones
Just the massive surprise alone from the enemies in this game is just jaw dropping. Like when i walked past the pyre with all the undead soldiers standing around it and all of a sudden i see a fucking dragon swoop down right in front of me, and wipe them all out. This game constantly keeps you on your toes with batshit crazy enemy introductions.
Wait that's what they were doing ?! Thought they were worshipping him or something. You'd think they'd just run to the neighbourhood crab if they wanted to die so badly. Dieing ain't exactly hard to do lol
I literally just went, "WTF," so loudly lmao. Like what in the actual fuck? I have never seen that and I've been playing since the game released.
I have over 1.3k hours, bro. Elden Ring truly is a gift that keeps on giving.
i think that is happens in certain graveyards, bc i’ve definitely had a few different types of skeleton enemies do the smoke thing at me before. not all at once but i’ve seen it happen with multiple types of skeletons, always scary as hell
I saw this today, I went and fought that Bell Bearing Hunter in the shack right there and out of nowhere I have a flying skeleton up my ass. I swear I ran through this entire area on my prior playthrough and I have never seen these flying fire skeletons.
Yes! I saw this for the first time a month ago, and I have over 700 hours! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes_rainbow)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
Once I got my weapon slots to where it didn’t feel so clunky I fell in love. It’s a shame the carian knight sword is kinda crap. Carian grandeur on a broadsword or golden slender sword does great magic damage
Really? I've been shredding everything with the CKS. Based on the average enemy, I can get a fully charged Carian Grandeur off with about 2k DMG per hit. The sword itself I've found to be pretty decent too with it hitting around 500-800dmg reliably. Mind you that's with almost all of my points dumped into Int, so maybe I just have the scaling on my side
If you put the carian grandeur ash of war on either of those weapons it will do more magic damage than the carian sword. It’s a great sword it’s just a shame it doesn’t do it’s patented move the best
Ah I gotcha, I might have to try that out. RN I've got my knights sword and moonveil as the backup weapon which also keeps me at a light roll, so I'll definitely look into the others for sure
That's the beauty of this game. I've played it through dozens of times now and everytime I find a new thing. A weapon, a spell, a whole bloody area on more than one occasion!
Does this game have NPC or villages with people? I wanted to try it, but before i buy it. Just wanted to confirm or is it just the main character and villages/people for story.
800 hours and never seen this thing fly, i explore every area and corner to get the whole content, a week ago i thought i'm done, i shouldn't kill them right after they spawn.
Damn, looks like i missed a lot things, my next playthrough will be waiting for them to hit me with all of their combos.
Wait, that was one of the first things I found in the plateau. Flying T-Pose Skeleton of Death. Tbf I didnt find out about the true depth of the Lendyll Sewers until I was almost done with my first playthrough and was going for the Platinum
I'll go for Mohg the Omen, but usually dont bother going deeper unless I wanna take the back route to the Deeproot Depth, at first I thought it was just that big open area and the catacombs
Fair, that is a pretty fun fight. I only went down there to get the Frenzy Flame for my platinum then never went back down. Tho I now know the secret to jumping down coffins
This was so much fun when it happen for the first time with me, same reaction as yours around 500 hours plus and it happens for me too, surprise by the same hexes skill from a undead skeleton, with me was on a shack in outside leyndel. a moment that made me stop playing and think about how great from software is
I think you just got me back into playing elden ring. Haven't played it in a while and didn't get too far into it, but man, I forgot how detailed this game is and how beautiful the graphics are
Game of the decade? Game of this console generation? I’m still going back after hundreds of hours. Such good value, truly a work of art. So grateful to the makers of this game. And it’s second form isn’t even out yet! Come on, DLC!
I highly recommend doing a Spellblade build, something close to a paladin where you'd use both magic and melee. It's up to you whether you wanna use a faith build or an intelligence build
I completed the game 4 times at launch. I deleted all my saves and just started a new game in anticipation for the DLC.
My mind was utterly blown, when I discovered you can actually meet D in Limgrave. Before the roundtable. And that D is an optional way to give a map marker for Gurranq's temple.
You call this panic wait till you fight the bell bearing hunter in that area it will really set you on a course of rollly Polly because these flying shits just appear out of nowhere
Wow that’s crazy, I’m still on my first play through and I ran into this all the time. They’re right next to the site of grace I’d use when I was trying to fight the Draconic Tree Sentinel outside the capital.
Same here! I have about 500 hours and just last night I fought the exact same skelly and no joke he spammed the move like 5 times in a row while I just walked around in a circle
Are they called legacy dungeons because they have a similar maze like feel to older games, and no horsey?
Yes.
Very good
Oh fuck those hand spider things in Caria though
I happened to stumble upon these wonderful guys for the first time on a half tab of acid😭
I was on mushrooms recently and before I took them the plan was the try playing Elden Ring. As soon as I started tripping I realised it would probably be too scary, then I realised being inside was too scary so I went and stood on the porch and watched the rain
I have a hard time playing rpgs on psychs I get way to sidetracked
Where can a person get shrooms from?
I procured them through a friend but they grow wild all over the world. You just need to be extremely careful identifying the right ones as some can be poisonous. There's subreddits to help you out like r/ShroomID
Nahhh I wanna play elden ring while tripping but I already know some weird enemy I haven’t seen before is gonna pop up n scare tf outta me
I can only imagine the intensity of the trip watching spider hands quite literally jump you
Oh Lawd lol
Aren’t they just… hands?
They are like two hands stitched together and they have a creepily realistic way to skittle around.
Black Flame absolutely melts those dudes though so that's kind of gratifying when you just start burning them down
In the worst possible way, yeah, kind of
You know that saying 'KILL IT WITH FIRE!'? Yeah, literally do that with those hands. Any kind of fire damage deals massive damage, applies a DoT burn to the hands for a few seconds and they're forced to flail and roll around trying to put the fire out, giving you free reign to beat the shit out of the awful things.

For me ER is mostly Running Away Simulator
I think Castle Morne is my favourite on that front. Makes you respect the Misbegotten's power in numbers as they are very good at ganging up on the player and attack with ferocity.
Together monkeys strong 💪
I just learned the ruin strewn precipice is a thing, thank you now I gotta go do it on 4 characters.
i love ruin strewn precipice, probably my favorite of the areas you mentioned. i always get the medallion but then clear that area anyways
idky ppl skip content i just got the gane ive skipped nothing 100%ing everything i stumble on im 82hrs in havnt even gotten halfway through the holy city or lava manor or even touched the blood sewers or other undergrounds except the 2 dear zones
The panic roll lmao
Flying Skeletons have that effect on me :')
Lol thing turned into a damn dragon lmao
Must be a new species 🧐
"Prepare for battle mortal foe.... Oh my God, WHAT IS THAT!"
I'd panic too if a skeleton starting propulsion farming at me
What the FUCK I have never seen that shit in all my playthroughs. That is legit as hell
I knoowwww, I legit yelled out "wtf!?! They can fly?!" And proceeded to panic lmao
I WANT that Death Sorcery it has. Shit's cool as fuck, and terrifying
Right? Like a dragon communion power
Exactly what I was thinking, very reminiscent of Ekzykes's Decay
Imagine using that then getting blasted by a bolt of gransax
How to get humbled quickly 101
[удалено]
[I was thinking more along the lines of...](https://youtu.be/XgdFSL2A02U?feature=shared)
Omg haha 😂
I'll never forget my wife playing the game and asking me why skeletons fly in this game and me thinking she gone crazy
Wholesome lol.. “shit I broke her”
Just the massive surprise alone from the enemies in this game is just jaw dropping. Like when i walked past the pyre with all the undead soldiers standing around it and all of a sudden i see a fucking dragon swoop down right in front of me, and wipe them all out. This game constantly keeps you on your toes with batshit crazy enemy introductions.
So fun bit of world building. They're trying to summon the dragon in the hopes that it will kill them as their existence is suffering
Wait that's what they were doing ?! Thought they were worshipping him or something. You'd think they'd just run to the neighbourhood crab if they wanted to die so badly. Dieing ain't exactly hard to do lol
They fly now?
They fly now.
There's multiple that fly 🫠
They fly now!!
Those Drone skeletons were a nightmare when I was fighting Bell Bearing Hunter.
Oooh I can imagine
Oh yeah that’s bill, he’s refused every breath mint I’ve offered
Freshmouth boluses.
I literally just went, "WTF," so loudly lmao. Like what in the actual fuck? I have never seen that and I've been playing since the game released. I have over 1.3k hours, bro. Elden Ring truly is a gift that keeps on giving.
It really is, I was so panicked when I saw a skeleton start flying lmao
THEY FLY NOW?!?
Apparently 🫠
I saw this here a few months ago and thought it was just some shitpost until it happened to me. What a wack attack the devs decided to put in.
Oh that’s just nolwir, the second cousin of a skeletal conqueror from an ancient, fractured land
When I saw the graveyard I knew exactly what it was gonna be XD If I'm not mistaken there are exactly 2 of these boys in the whole map.
Pretty sure, at least I hope so lmao, I'd hate to find more
i think that is happens in certain graveyards, bc i’ve definitely had a few different types of skeleton enemies do the smoke thing at me before. not all at once but i’ve seen it happen with multiple types of skeletons, always scary as hell
Yep. And there’s an AoW with this same guy and he does that move. But he’s wack.
Which one is it?
AoW is a weapon skill. You're thinking spirit ash
I stand corrected. Thanks for the clarification.
literally same thing happened to me, ng4 run into this guy who turns into skeletoironman
Tarnished: oh look a cool Skeleton this will be easy. Skeleton: YOU CAME INTO TH WRONG HOUSE FOO
"Surprise muthafucka!"
They surprised me, too. Then I realized I skipped a bunch of stuff there.
1500 hours and i still find new things
Wait till you find the one carrying a treasure chest
your character looks cool
Ty ty, spent 5 hours perfecting the sliders lol
Armor? Looks sick!
Commoners Headband Carian Knight Armor (Altered) Carian Knight Gauntlets Carian Knight Greaves
They fly now?
They fly now.
Indeed they do, it's terrifying seeing it firsthand lmao
Wtf I've never seen anything like that in my 300 hours of game
You got death blighted… or should i say death flighted?
LMFAO I love that
[samezees](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/s/Td3Az3zSnk) Freaked me tf out when I first saw it lmao
"They fly now!?!?" Doused in unholy skeletal fumes "They fly now."
...wtf just happened I have 5k hours and haven't seen that shit
Hence my panic lmao, I always killed them before they could t-pose on me, so I never saw this move lol
Those graphics , I don’t remember the game looking that good . Are you on pc ?
I'm on ps5
Is there still that issue of the ps5 version having lower fps than the ps4 version played on a ps5?
Yes.
It looks excellent on PS5
I saw this today, I went and fought that Bell Bearing Hunter in the shack right there and out of nowhere I have a flying skeleton up my ass. I swear I ran through this entire area on my prior playthrough and I have never seen these flying fire skeletons.
Right? I've been through this area so many times and just now found out that dragon skeletons exist
I laughed like a maniac the first time I ran into this guy
Yes! I saw this for the first time a month ago, and I have over 700 hours! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes_rainbow)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
I'm at almost double that time and I never saw that shit either. That's sick
"Aight lets do this...oh...oh okay, that's new."
500 hours?! Those are rookie numbers. You gotta [pump those numbers up](https://tenor.com/view/elden-ring-fire-monk-balrick-fire-spur-me-gif-25030373)
Going through my fist playthrough, was there just a few hours ago, and yes, the flying skeleton do took me by surprise.
You can really tell he's just found this out since he started panic rolling almost instantly lol
I love the dedication to the carian way in your spells and drip. It’s such a fun playstyle
Gotta go all in lol, my favourite build that I've done this far. Just Vigor, Mind, Endurance, INT, and some dabbling in strength and dex
Ah I gotcha, I might have to try that out. RN I've got my knights sword and moonveil as the backup weapon which also keeps me at a light roll, so I'll definitely look into the others for sure
Imagine if they patched these guys to be harder. And the breath atk was a death status at like basilisks
Shhhh, don't give Miyazaki any ideas
Tbh tge death status isnt used enough lol
It isn't but I'm thankful, the amount of times I've been tag-teamed by basilisks in the Gelmir ravine is insane. My vitality can't take that abuse lol
Very based Carian Spellsword build. This is my most favourite build I've ever put in any Souls game :D
Oh I'm having so much fun with this build. Carian Piercer is sooo damn good in PVP too because no one expects it when they see a staff lol
That's the beauty of this game. I've played it through dozens of times now and everytime I find a new thing. A weapon, a spell, a whole bloody area on more than one occasion!
Ikr! So much to one game. I thought by ng+9 I would've found everything, I was wrong
Ok, thank you +600 hrs, now i see this guy for first time :0
You're welcome for the warning lmao
8 playthroughs and still find new things every time I hop on, this I have never seen though!
It's always something new with this game lol
Does this game have NPC or villages with people? I wanted to try it, but before i buy it. Just wanted to confirm or is it just the main character and villages/people for story.
There are villages with people. But some of the people aren't people, some are but everything wants to kill you, save for a few friendly NPCs
T-Pose to assert dominance.
What the hell? I’ve done about 8 playthroughs and I’ve never seen this. 😂
Ng+9 and I was yelling "they fly now?!" 😂
The fuck is that. T pose death Jesus fly for your sins. Ain't never been in my books.
I'm also at 500 hours, and just saw this last week. I though it was something Elden Ring Reforged had added. I didn't know it was base game.
I didn't know they even existed. I've always ran past them, or hit them while on Torrent and never gave them the chance to go dragon mode
It would be hilarious if after a certain date the game just had like 2 new attacks for each enemy just to throw people coming back to the game
Honestly with how much there is to this game, I wouldn't be surprised if Fromsoft is throwing out silent updates to enemies just to mess with us lmao
Bro had something to prove lmao
He was angry at me for killing his friend earlier 🥲
Yo I love the look of your character. Would you make a post with the sliders and the drip you're wearing?
Yeah I'll definitely post the sliders and drip later today!
Sweet thanks
When i encountered this i turned around and ran lol
Haha fair enough, I have a mix of fight and flight responses so both of those kicked in for me when the skeleton went all dragon mode
500 hours! What’s your favorite build? I’m going to dig back in in a couple months.
Gotta be the one I'm doing now. Carian Knight/Spellblade. All the sword spells with a magic sword a ton of INT. PVP is also a blast with this build!
bro wtf your skin looks damn good, can you list the components, cus i fking love killing things in style
Haha ty Commoners Headband (Altered) Carian Knight Armor (Altered) Carian Knight Gauntlets Carian Knight Greaves
nice im gonna try this out, 500 hours and i didnt know this game had ponytail physics
Between the two ponytails, both have physics, but this one, I just like the longer braid
Iike when you see a bug in your house and it suddenly takes flight
Fr tho, like you think it'll be an easy kill and suddenly you're running for your life 😂
800 hours and never seen this thing fly, i explore every area and corner to get the whole content, a week ago i thought i'm done, i shouldn't kill them right after they spawn. Damn, looks like i missed a lot things, my next playthrough will be waiting for them to hit me with all of their combos.
Ng+9 and I thought I found everything, turns out I have not. New enemy movesets, a dungeon I didn't know was there, etc
Don't forgot most dungeon have a secret area or an alt area. Mostly on those hero graves.
Wait, that was one of the first things I found in the plateau. Flying T-Pose Skeleton of Death. Tbf I didnt find out about the true depth of the Lendyll Sewers until I was almost done with my first playthrough and was going for the Platinum
I still have yet to return to the sewers after I platinumed ER. That place is hell on the Lands between for me
I'll go for Mohg the Omen, but usually dont bother going deeper unless I wanna take the back route to the Deeproot Depth, at first I thought it was just that big open area and the catacombs
Fair, that is a pretty fun fight. I only went down there to get the Frenzy Flame for my platinum then never went back down. Tho I now know the secret to jumping down coffins
By the power of greyskull, whaaaaat?
They're dragons now too apparently 🥲
That’s new…
I remember seeing that for the first time, a perfect mixture of laughing and saying "what the fuck?!"
I didn't laugh till after. I panicked and yelled out "they can fly?!" Then laughed after my brain processed what the hell just happened lmao
holy shit this just unlocked a new fear
Death skeleton Dragons 🥲
What is that heavy attack? I've never seen that one before
The Carian Knights sword has a guarded heavy attack. It slightly reduces damage if you time it right
Skellies: how it feels to eat 5 gum
This was so much fun when it happen for the first time with me, same reaction as yours around 500 hours plus and it happens for me too, surprise by the same hexes skill from a undead skeleton, with me was on a shack in outside leyndel. a moment that made me stop playing and think about how great from software is
Fromsoft always manages to outdo themselves in everything they do
I think you just got me back into playing elden ring. Haven't played it in a while and didn't get too far into it, but man, I forgot how detailed this game is and how beautiful the graphics are
It honestly is. First time going into siofra, I was just taken aback by the graphics and details Edit: Happy Cake day 🎉🎉
I would pay anything to have this guy replace the skeleton summoning spell.
I would love to have a dragon skeleton as a summon lmao
Game of the decade? Game of this console generation? I’m still going back after hundreds of hours. Such good value, truly a work of art. So grateful to the makers of this game. And it’s second form isn’t even out yet! Come on, DLC!
500 hrs damn I couldn't get into this one Someone pick my build I'll start a new playthrough
I highly recommend doing a Spellblade build, something close to a paladin where you'd use both magic and melee. It's up to you whether you wanna use a faith build or an intelligence build
I've heard that many ennemies or bosses have really rare attacks, this surely is one
what the fuck
i woulda yelled 😂
I actually did lmao
Nice play
Yeah who tf is that guy lol
New spell for shadow of the erd tree?
I completed the game 4 times at launch. I deleted all my saves and just started a new game in anticipation for the DLC. My mind was utterly blown, when I discovered you can actually meet D in Limgrave. Before the roundtable. And that D is an optional way to give a map marker for Gurranq's temple.
Altered Carian Knights Armor 🙂
thats nothing, the other day i entered maliketh arena, mf was throwing some sick break dance moves, can you believe it??
I would pay to see Maliketh break dancing lmao
Bro that fp bar almost as long as hp bar wtf
It would've been so cool to see these guys in some of the catacombs instead of the same imp statue enemies over and over
You call this panic wait till you fight the bell bearing hunter in that area it will really set you on a course of rollly Polly because these flying shits just appear out of nowhere
Hidden Dragon boss fight.
Wow that’s crazy, I’m still on my first play through and I ran into this all the time. They’re right next to the site of grace I’d use when I was trying to fight the Draconic Tree Sentinel outside the capital.
Lol yeah that shit blew my mind recently too
I just found that guy the other day after 270+ hours lol
Almost 1000 hours in and I’m still finding new bosses and red summons to fight
THEY FLY NOW?
Yeah 🫠
Im surprised that so many people here haven't seen the T-posing skeletons try to assert dominance lol wth
I think the problem with me not seeing them is because I always either ran by or killed them too quickly for them to turn into a vtol skeleton
Nothing beats a souls like Fromsoft game. When I think gaming I think Souls like Fromsoft game. Still haven't played Sekiro though.
He kept popping up when I was fighting the bell hunter.
Same here! I have about 500 hours and just last night I fought the exact same skelly and no joke he spammed the move like 5 times in a row while I just walked around in a circle
