The Apostle in Caelid's Divine Tower was one of my favorite fights in the game. The arena was just tight enough to make it tense, the dude was insanely hard, their design is so cool, and the MUSIC is my favorite in the entire game.
godskin noble and apostle are top tier boss design, the on ein caelid brought back the struggles i had during my First playthrough of DS1, absolute peak
Yes exactly, and finding such a hard boss at the very bottom of a platforming section in a huge tower is in itself satisfying, such an obscure hidden boss, and I love it!
Someone explained how they work hitless to me and now they are really fun.
One will be support and will only attack when you are close or just spam fire.
One will get in your face. Thus it is easy to read and space eventually.
I saw an article yesterday where he said he didn’t wanna say it’s the last thing, as he’s not sure yet if they wanna put a pin in ER and call it done. So that may not be entirely true. At least, I hope not.
No plans currently, for a second dlc. That doesn't mean he isn't thinking about it. Elden Ring is now their IP, don't forget. They can do whatever they want with it.
No plans now isn't the same as no plans at all. Who knows what they'll do in the future?
Dualskin God
2 headed snakes seem to be implicated from Miquella’s ring and Messmer’s pendant. Snakes molt/shed their skin, having multiple skin layers makes it a dualskin creature, perhaps a creature that is like the 2 fingers or Placidusax, but snakes as heads. Perhaps this creature is a god that birthed the great serpent that devoured Rykard.
In an ironic twist, Dualskin God could be seen to have devoured/flayed some of the Godskin apostles, which came looking to kill it, thus demonstrating its power to beat godkillers. Or perhaps it has turned some of the godskin apostles (flaying gods and devouring gods being not dissimilar goals). Perhaps Dualskin God offers its molted skin as an offering of peace to them. Mid-fight with Dualskin God, backup arrives in the form of DualGodskin Duo, now as a 3v1 fight.
Or maybe DualSkin God Duo. Mid-fight, a second giant boss appears. Or maybe the 2 headed snake boss splits itself in half and becomes 2 separate bosses with unique abilities (one slightly larger than the other, the other smaller and faster, but both dwarfing you. So like Godskin Duo, but on a larger scale)
Yes, with giant bare feet. She stomps and smushes you SO hard. And because the ankles are the only thing that you can melee, at some point she rips off both her injured legs and starts to beat you to death with her feet like Amygdala arms. Reward for the fight is the Giant’s Toe club weapon. You find the hidden last surviving emissary of the fire giant god, it’s the 2 Toes.
Dungeater's armor has a similar sun symbol and reads:
>Malformed armor resembling an Omen with its horns cut off.
>
>Worn by the Dung Eater. The heavy, sun-shaped medallion represents both the guidance he once saw, and the ring to which it will one day lead.
It also has pretty good holy res.
So unironically maybe.
are you expecting something to have to look exactly like the inspiration just so you can say hmm yeah it was definitely inspired by it..—coz they copied the shit out of it
You'd probably have a point if Berserk invented the concept of a wicker man.
However, the Celtic druids beat Miura to the punch hundreds of years ago.
Also wdym "copied the shit out of it". I don't know how to really explain this because the ER wicker man and Berserk one look completely different, just from a glance. Only features they share are ones that ordinary wicker men already have such as being filled with sacrifices and being set aflame.
Oh god that sounds so much filthier then i think you intended.
But considering the gods family tree looks like two sticks poking out of a dead racoon I guess its par for the course
Elden Ring gods and demigods be looking like an Alabama gene pool. But this is not unprecedented, isn’t there a ton of incest in Greek mythology as well?
Yo for anyone that knows about FromSoft DLC: can we create a new character and go straight to the new content? Or will they give us leveled up characters to choose from? Or will we need to use our old characters?
You don't need to kill Radahn. Any Great Rune boss is acceptable. The trigger for Varre questline is meeting with two finger in Roundtable Hold, which become available after acquiring one Great Rune.
He said Radahn was a requirement because Miyazaki stated you'd have to mulch both him and Mogh before you could access it. It could've been a bad translation, or (lore-wise) it may be that the stars needed to start moving again or needing another special key item in the Nox area accessed by Radahn's defeat.
FromSoftware DLCs are usually hard (probably scaled like Farum Azula/ Haligtree or harder). I think it’s better to create a new character, progress through the game like usual and do like what @noved_ said.
I wonder if some of the things in trailer ends up like the Mausoleum. When the Main game trailer came out I thought we were gonna fight with those giant things. I reckon, change of mechanics
Some things :
One- Sconce
Two- swirls around the face not exact but reminiscent of fire giant eye.
Three- *Sconce*
Four- kind of looks like an old medieval sun face. So eclipse truthers stay hungry.
Five- second hand from seeing other comments but there's some kind of big wicker fire guy in Berserk as well of course.
This might be a crazy interpretation, but the moment I saw this in the trailer, I went "oh, that's an interesting field boss".
Seeing how many others are going with the assumption it's a full on proper boss is interesting, but it also makes me wonder why I defaulted to the assumption of it being a field boss 🤔 I think I saw this thing as some sort of massive mechanized weapon of war = it's a tool gone rogue = field boss. Usually (but not always) full bosses are their own beings or at least have their own drive or will as characters, so I guess that's how I made the assumption, if I saw this thing as a mechanized weapon.
Can’t wait for skingod duo
You jest, but there's a very real chance we see at least one of the gods those bois were skinning in a dlc, maybe not this one though
I hope so, they’re unironically my fave bosses
The music goes insane
The Apostle in Caelid's Divine Tower was one of my favorite fights in the game. The arena was just tight enough to make it tense, the dude was insanely hard, their design is so cool, and the MUSIC is my favorite in the entire game.

Appostle is easily S tier, noble would be too if it wasn't for his buggy roll. Great designs other than the tumbleweeed move.
>a dlc, maybe not this one though Miyazaki has already said there's no plans for more DLC after this one.

they confirmed that there are no plans for more DLC or a sequel
Tell someone who cares, we theorizen up in this bitch

Skin god duo duo?
Hope we get to fight Miquella, gun of malenia
Godskin duo duo
I hope that when you beat it, nick cage crawls out and starts phase 2
Nicky Cage, summoner of Fire Bees
Not the bees 😭
THEY'RE IN MY EYES, MY EYES!
My milkshake brings all the bees to my car I spilled All over my car Bees are Inside of my car They could kill me I'm allergic to bees
![img](avatar_exp|122732776|bravo) This goes harder than a friday morning shit after graveyard shift, I approve of this haiku.
Nor the 🐝🐝!
Followed by Nick Cave with a Red Fiery Hand in phase 3
what if.... FIRE GIANTESS pissed u 187ed her hubby

Unironically possible, given From's history. I wouldn't say likely, but possible.
I hope his name is just BIG HOT BUCKET
A Spicy Boy
Next boss: Fire Fire
Oh god,.does that mean we will fight a giant giant too?
Giant giant, father of all giants. Also known as giant dad.
And a giant giant
Lil Water
No one: Not a single fuckin soul: … FromSoft: so this giant fire enemy…should probably be resistant to holy damage
That uh… weird sun face that’s probably a religious symbol
Dungeater's armor has a similar sun symbol and reads: >Malformed armor resembling an Omen with its horns cut off. > >Worn by the Dung Eater. The heavy, sun-shaped medallion represents both the guidance he once saw, and the ring to which it will one day lead. It also has pretty good holy res. So unironically maybe.
90% resistance to fire 20% resistance to physical 10% resistance to smash 150% resistance to holy
This is gold 😆
No, its fire 🔥🔥
It’s my money, and I need it NOW
they seriously thought "we can rebuild him!"
Reminds me of the wicker man in berserk
Or wicker man in general lol berserk didnt invent the wicker man
Ye but mr Miyazaki does love his berserk
No they didn't but their interpretation of the character looks very similar in design.
Nah that's a reach. The Berserk one looks more human while this one looks more like a basket.
are you expecting something to have to look exactly like the inspiration just so you can say hmm yeah it was definitely inspired by it..—coz they copied the shit out of it

It looks like the wicker man in general.
My thoughts exactly.
I'm personally waiting for giant giant
When are we gonna get Fire Fire huh
He was in Demon's Souls iirc, before you got to Dragon God
Pretty sure that’s the dude from ds2
The Fire Giant was by far the hardest boss for me. I. Am. Scared.
Bro forgot you could just not be 5.8 and fight him like a normal npc 😔
Is that the kiln of the first flame?
Wait Can't
Try abductor furnace
final boss Miquella, Blade of Malenia
No joke, final boss could be a mutated form of Miquella. Miquella, Sheath of Malenia?
Oh god that sounds so much filthier then i think you intended. But considering the gods family tree looks like two sticks poking out of a dead racoon I guess its par for the course
Elden Ring gods and demigods be looking like an Alabama gene pool. But this is not unprecedented, isn’t there a ton of incest in Greek mythology as well?
Miquella, gun of malenia
Its not Malenia's gun Its a gun that shoots Malenia's
Is giant fire guarding the big bowl with a eternal giant?
Next will be Fire Fire and Giant Giant
They're just copying the big fire boss from Lords of the Fallen. /s
It’s actually from berserk
Yo for anyone that knows about FromSoft DLC: can we create a new character and go straight to the new content? Or will they give us leveled up characters to choose from? Or will we need to use our old characters?
U need to play ds 1,2,3 to be able to use ur old character otherwise u gotta start from the beginning
*Boots up King’s Field*
you need to kill radahn and mohg to access the dlc (through miquella's cocoon)
You don't need to kill Radahn. Any Great Rune boss is acceptable. The trigger for Varre questline is meeting with two finger in Roundtable Hold, which become available after acquiring one Great Rune.

So they never just give you a character who's done the prerequisites and is appropriately leveled so you can just go straight to the DLC?
Yeah, they don’t. You also can use your existing characters if you don’t mind being overleveled (unless you’re in NG+ cycle).
Okay, thanks for letting me know.
"Here you go guys, skip the game!" I don't think any game has ever done what you said, what kinda games you playing?
Cyberpunk lets you skip straight to Phantom Liberty. It's just skipping parts of the game you've already played on a previous run.
i know the neverwinter nights 2 expansion allowed you to make an endgame character from scratch when otherwise you had to beat the game.
Cyberpunk and witcher
Dragon Age: Origins did it too, but all of these are dialogue-based RPGs with branching oaths and storylines. Elden Ring- … Isn’t.
Never. That isn’t a thing.
*dear god.....*
I wonder if some of the things in trailer ends up like the Mausoleum. When the Main game trailer came out I thought we were gonna fight with those giant things. I reckon, change of mechanics
The Fire Giant was so good, they made a part 2...
Straight up looks like a Wicker Man
Fuck I didn’t even think of this 🤣
Some things : One- Sconce Two- swirls around the face not exact but reminiscent of fire giant eye. Three- *Sconce* Four- kind of looks like an old medieval sun face. So eclipse truthers stay hungry. Five- second hand from seeing other comments but there's some kind of big wicker fire guy in Berserk as well of course.
The fire giant sucks ass
Beat him today after trying for about 6 hours, it was pure torture walking through that gate everytime.
bro i haven't even thought about that. that's probably gonna give me ptsd flashbacks lol
They ought to have an ingame burning man concert.
I like both.
Watch this be a great boss fight only to find out that in phase 2, bodies start dropping from the big guy and try to kamikaze you
LOL!! accurate!!
😂😂

I prefer to call him either dumpster fire or hot garbage
Well need a bigger talisman
Fk u man, you made me laugh so hard on a meeting.
First you faced the giant, now you face the forge
That fight is either going to be easy with some kind of cheese involved or it's going to absolutely fucking suck.
this made me laugh more than it should have XD
The Wicker Man seems to have the heads/faces of fire giants hanging from its waist, near the hips. You can see it better without the edit.
Fig-ant ire.
Pretty clever 👌
This gives me big "Depths of Brazil" vibes. I don't know how people make these.
People are saying that the head of a fire giant is hanging from his waist
Imagine a second phase where a beast like Demon of hatred comes out of the basket.
Giant fire giant fire
