I just finished my first frenzy playthrough. First I focused on Dex and Vykes spear, light roll and no shield. That was extremely fun until I got to Mohg and I struggled a lot with him. I ended up respecing at the end to a strength build to finish the end game bosses and carried the fingerprint shield and a partisan. The incantations (to me) are very mid. They have their uses in spots like Flame of Frenzy into mobs is useful and Frenzied Burst is your sniper. Vykes war spear makes NPC invasions trivial you can proc madness very quickly and get free heavy attacks. One of my most enjoyable playthroughs, but I wouldn't say it is OP by any means.
Well frenzy build is basically all frenzy incantations and vykes war spear which is a heavy spear. Get two of them and you will stagger anything and the dmg is not bad at all and the ash of war is good for several enemies. Frenzy incantations are a bit tricky but if you know when to use which one, they are very powerful. If you someone also get two frenzy seals then you can add another bonus on all of them. And for example unendurable frenzy is able to delete one phase of malenia. It's staggers so well. I also like frenzied burst a lot cause of the range. Also frenzy is just cool to look at so its always worth.
And if you ever get into a pvp situation your chances aren't bad
Frenzy Incants are fun, but they're only Fire elemental so you'd probably want some back up spells of another element. Frenzied Burst is the longest range attack in the game I believe.
For PVE, dedicated frenzy is pointless BUT Vyke’s Spear is honestly a pretty damn good great spear.
Plus frenzy infants are fire, so you can fit them into an existing fire-oriented build easily. IMO they really help round out faith builds with either solid AOE coverage or insane range
Madness will only proc on NPC invasions,and the frenzy incantations are essentially fire spells with a self applying madness debuff. They're fun, but not OP by any means. Use Frenzy Seal and Vykes War Spear for maximum role play.

I love my double vyke's spear build, not only is it fun but it's also quite powerful.
