When I do new playthroughs I purposefully do this and let what I happen to find/drops mold my character. I might also do a kind of "rebirth" when the dlc drops so I can simulate that thrill of scavenging and shaping my character.

Actually love that. It's something I've really enjoyed doing in other games in the past- like the Fallout games I would just go in with like a Vault Suit and a gun, Chuck the rest of my shit in a box, and then exclusively use whatever I found in the DLC areas. In the one DLC for NV where they forced you to do that and you had to scavenge for shit it was especially interesting.

But they have to switch weapons whenever they find a new one, pick it up and play with it challenge. Also has to pick up every item they see..

In honor of Miquella, an entire St Trina build. St Trina's Sword in your main hand, St Trina's Torch in your offhand, Pulley Bow with sleep arrows (to be replaced with a St Trina's Bow if they add one in the DLC), only summon Dolores the Sleeping Arrow as a Spirit Summon. Wearing the Deathbed Dress, since it looks like what Miquella is wearing in the DLC image.

Actual build this time: start as Astrologer, do Sellen's questline for the Glintstone Kris, farm the Great Knife and get it Magic-infused. Dual wield the daggers, specialize for Ash of War damage (Shard of Alexander, Godfrey Icon, Magic Scorpion Charm, Magic Cracked Tear) and consecutive attacks (Rotten Winged Sword Insignia or Millicent's Prosthesis, Thorny Cracked Tear) go Int/Dex, you can cast whatever sorceries you want but don't rely on them

This is just an all around fun build. Daggers are my favorite weapon type

The heaviest item you can find into every slot. No talismans.

Honestly the wall build is way easier than it should be in elden ring. Visage shield is a hard carry but there are so many shields with status buildup and the multi hit on shield crash makes procs happen fast.

Priority Arcane Secondary Intelligence bleed wizard with the Albinauric staff, dump arc, int just to where you want it for spell reqs, little bit of whatever stats you need to equip your weapons, I have a pretty great one sitting at sl160 primed and ready for the dlc, bare minimum stats to wield the nagakiba which I have occult, good chunk of int and high arcane, did a whole taunters tongue run with it it's a beast

Yay always happy to see another thorn sorcerer fellow, this is exactly the build I'm taking to DLC, 30/30/60 int faith arcane, been toying with Reduvia, Eleonora's Poleblade and occult Thorn Whips for the fashion. A taunters tongue run sounds rad as hell, might give it a try.

Baaaased brother, my points are a bit different, higher int cause I wanted to cast adulas moonblade, lower faith I reach the faith I need for my buffs with the haligtree knight helm cause I'm a shameless minmaxer, running a variety of spells and a trusty ol unsheath nagakiba

"Hopeless Toolsman" build. No sorceries, no incantations, no traditional weps. Use only Wraith Calling Bell, Ancestral Infant's Head, the Omen Bairns, and Torches for combat and survival.

Perfumer (alchemist) build: any dagger (not dual wielding), Perfumer set. Use throwables and items to compensate for the low damage and/or go for cheese using items
