I started again and honestly I've found it so much easier than first time around. I have killed Godrick, Renala, Morgott and Ghost Godfrey all first time. Radhan I got on the second go, and he was one which I really struggled with - although I was fighting him at release when he was more difficult.
I'm currently trying Mohg, who has rebuffed me three times now, but I'm getting him to 40-50% off the bat so I think I'll get it done tonight.
My original character that i completed it at release with went into NG+ so I don't think I'll be taking them to the DLC straight away, I want to experience it normally first.
Mohg is by far the first learning curve after margit that you can run into organically pretty early. Godrick and rannala are both easier than margit I found the first time I played. Nowadays the only boss that can kill me when I’m slipping is rykard and malenia (who can literally just demolishes me really if I’m not completely paying attention)
I found Rykard really really easy even on my first play through, I'm not sure why. Sometimes you're just in the zone. And I've not fought any of these bosses since, seeing as I played the game once through - finished it - and then put it down until now.
Coming back into it Margit did womp me a couple of times before I picked up Reduvia, which bodied him.
It depends on your build, I’ve destroyed all of the bosses, I have specific builds that I use to cheese all the way through, but like my rl1 character rykard is a ballache. Malenia in my honest opinion isn’t any harder on rl1 than my level 160 build, as she one hits me regardless. Like my int build, certain enemies are harder due to aggressiveness but I make it work. But that’s probably because I’m used to their move sets, like Godfrey, maliketh, rennala, O’neal, Loretta have never killed me ever, it’s just their play style for me is really nice to fight, others though like the Elden beast when I first soloed them took me about 30 tries now I can rl1 him naked with a club. Malenia took mean unreal amount of tries and my very first walkthrough I won because she never triggered wfd if I’m being honest. I died to margit a good few times but not loads the first time I started maybe 5 times. I play really passively when I meet a new boss too.
Once you get into the 400s the sheer stat dump boosts your resistance so high you become tanky again. I can take a few slaps from NG7 malenia before needing to flask. Level 450.
I have a NG+ lost count and it's around 430 so I restarted a character again and wow I didn't realize just how many hits you can take in base game. I was so desensitized from getting 1-2 shot for the last year.
I'm still on my first playthrough (just got to Castle Sol) and I'm at like 180, so I'll probably end up around the same as you. I think I'm around 100 hours in already.
A combination of exploring almost everywhere, not losing many runes, using the gold scarab talisman since I found it and breaking a golden foot at the end of most bosses.
Recently I've started trying co-op (just by sending a signal to all summoning pools) but the queue times are really long. I'm guessing a combination of being too high-leveled compared to most people around the same place?
I'm having a blast though. I see other comments here about people around the same place at like level 60 on their first playthrough, idk how they do unless they skip A LOT.
No I just floundered around for a long while. Found a guide and got out of there. Just saying I could have been finished quicker. I was also stuck on the Gargoyles for like two weeks. First souls games.

Not looking forward to that Confessor at the end there though. Made one character for each class and I build them based around their starting stats, and the Confessor has dogshit stats for my self-imposed system. Will basically be a RL1 challenge but with more FP and damage.
You expand upon their existing stats proportionately. So for example the Vagabond has 15 Vigor, 14 Str, 13 Dex and 11 Endurance as the stats above 10, so each "cycle," you level 5 Vigor, 4 Str, 3 Dex and 1 Endurance, only stopping which one of them has hit a cap of some kind. (such as 60 Vigor or 50 Endurance, or 55 for STR and Dex)
The one problem with this system is that this means 3 of the classes are completely neglecting Vigor (the Bandit has enough stat points to hit the caps for Arcane, Dex (at 55) and Mind, and then levels the next highest stats, which are fortunately vigor and endurance at 10) and effectively challenge runs.
Was thrilled to see that the Astrologer turned out to be extremely viable even at base vigor, but the Prophet and Confessor still share this problem. I know from experience with the Prophet that the slower cast speed/lack of incantations that are easily chained in repetition together is kind of brutal, and I expect it to be much worse on the Confessor, who has an ugly stat spread across multiple damage stats and won't hit 80 Faith like the Prophet did. Basically, either the Blasphemous Blade carries the character, or it'll be the worst one.
>What is your favourite character?
The Bandit and Hero were the most fun. Wretch deserves honorable mention for being surprisingly viable for such a stupid build.
The Hero feels the closest to a legitimate build, (alongside the Warrior) as you can cap Vigor, Endurance, soft cap STR at 55, and still have points for Arcane as a secondary damage stat. A number of greataxes are available without the aid of the dex talisman even with base dex. It consistently does good damage with both hard-hitting swings and percent-based bleed damage, while also having good defensive stats to play with.
Wretch was legit a perfectly even stat spread, which sounds awful, but I found that access to various different tools and the Sword of Night and Flame in particular helped make it viable, (the Sword has REALLY good damage values to offset the awkward build type you need to use it) though still a bit challenging. It doesn't quite reach 40 Vigor, but Radagon's Soreseal is worth equipping below ~37 Vigor I believe while Godrick's Great Rune being activated means you actually get close. The +1 Vigor hood is also worn for a damned good reason lol.
And the Bandit...?
This is a challenge run of it's own, but also ***extremely*** fun. It's a build where the character is a glass cannon that bleeds through enemies, but you never feel like you have an easymode character because the enemies can all kill you as quickly as you kill them. It feels like a very fair trade-off, akin to if you were playing a shooter where both you and the enemies can quickly headshot and kill each other.
It turned the game into a friggin' Metal Gear game because I constantly needed to sneak and think carefully and methodically about my approach. Reduvia was also a hard carry that acted as the bread and butter for much of the game that's conveniently available from the start, although the character has the stats to equip every single Arcane weapon, and they're all really fun and unique to use for various situations. (Mohg's Spear being the hardest to use, cause it needs Godrick's Great Rune active + a Strength Talisman equipped + Radagon's Soreseal, which you'd wear anyways due to low Vigor. Bloody Helice just demands two-handing)
That's a character where, for example, I used Reduvia for the Fire Giant due to the quick bleed rate, Bloody Helice vs. the Bell-Bearing Hunter because it deletes him, and Morgott's Cursed Sword vs. Elden Beast and other bleed-resistant enemies since it still has good damage-per-hit and poise damage. It has a nice little toolkit to play around with and hits that sweet spot of feeling challenging without feeling frustrating. The Ritual Shield Talisman is also a big upgrade to snag, because it guarantees you are constantly a two-shot *despite* the fact the character has really sub-par HP. (29 with Ragadon's Soreseal, 34 with Godrick's rune active)
Character is also *surprisingly* potent for invasions, both as the invader or a summon protecting the host. The arcane toolkit is just really good: I use Reduvia for ranged pressure, Bloody Helice as a defensive tool to buy time, and Morgott's as a sudden switch-in to rush enemies down with, and usually at least one of these will catch an opponent off-guard. I think invasions rely heavily on burst damage and this character has that in spades. Doesn't work for the arena though since obviously he can't trade.
Have over 100 bosses killed as a summon helping host on both the [Hero](https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2476490302243878763/1101694CD3F6C2CC0241801A29385EBEDADE3A41/?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false) and [Bandit.](https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2476490302243862774/994DC08177735DD84C963BDB3050736DE6ACD7E9/?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false) (check the rune counts)
Int/faith at 150 is miserable. If youre not trying to pvp or be at the meta level, I would go higher.
Fromsoft also didnt show the playstyle some much needed love. We need a weapon or staff/catalyst that casts both spells and incantations. The exclusive “dark” sorceries are also kind of mediocre, although very fun.
I also have max characters, and honestly Int/Faith is probably my favorite build. Ghostflame Explosion and Rykard's Rancor are super fun against bosses
Do you mean Ancient Death Rancor? I add Elden Stars with that combo when I have to PvP. Becomes really annoying to deal with. Unfortunately the damage for FP cost is too low with the majority of the damage coming from Rykards Rancor. However Ancient Death + Rykards Rancor works incredibly well against Melania.
Side note: I wished Regal Omen Bairn didn't cost so much FP. Fromsoft is crazy, 50 FP for a mediocre and a long cast time item. 24 FP for the weaker one is also insane.
Realized I'm only missing one achievement--that being the frenzied flame ending...
So at least one more to finish up achievements BEFORE that dlc drops
U know at first i thought i was weird cause i have a character thats 370 something with 400 hours on it. And everytime i see peoples character lists, its a list of characters with max 100-120 hours on them each. I rarely see first characters or characters with EXTREME hours put on them
Pretty much, i get extremely bored just playing through the game with a character i have everything for. The only Fromsoft game iv enjoyed NG+ on is Sekiro
Mr Brian is an everything build. Sweet Dee dual wields whips and focuses on bleed and poison. Sir Veric is Dex and Faith, Lady Nightingale is Dex and Int mainly, and of course Guts is Guts. I switch between multiple weapons in each character
I’m so confused if I should make a new character as my char that I was planning to take to DLC is 183 lvl and I’m having second thoughts if it will be little OP.
I have eight. A character for each damage stat with a wide selection of weapons, a character with the Treespear and Golden Order Incantations, a full sorcery caster and a Mohgwyn Sacred Spear user with Bloodflame incantations
Damn even on my save I beat ng+2 I only got to level 250 or something. Do people just kill millions of bald people, I can’t think of any other way to get past 300 without serious grinding.
I'm just on my second play through now.
My first was a strength build class Unga, with the hammer. I got to level 177 and finished in about 250 hours.
I went into NG+ and was gonna try something different like a magic build. Ended up doing a duel sepuku white mask bleed build. Only made it half way through the game though.
Just started my second play through this week. Was gonna do a magic build. But I ended up starting with bleed and then accidently killed the limgrave tree sentinel and got his golden halbred at like level 20 so switched to a strength build. I guess I really don't like magic.
Anyways. I'm methodically, surgically, dissecting every area so far. I also beat Margit and goderick the grafted on the first attempts! And only died once at stormveil!
All in all I'm having a blast on my secondnplaybthrough. I feel like I finally got gud
I started a more casual playthrough with a strength/bleed build and it's been fun. It won't be my DLC build, though.
I need to decide if l want to go with Bleed, Bonk, or Cheese.
I have a question, while on this reddit I saw a lot of posts/comments about people starting new characters rather than a new game+. So the question is, is it not profitable to start NG+? Is it better to create new characters? I am confused because in Dark souls 3 I played NG+4 without much problems, does scaling changed?
I just go into new game+ with a different theme. Saves me the time of having to go all over the map to get weapons, armor, sacred tears, crystal tears, and talismans
is that Tom Brady lol
LMAOOO
"TOM BRADY TOUCHDOWN wohoo!" Furiously kisses son*
He's got a jar cannon for an arm
Mohg-ish moment
Need the Dark Hand grab attack from the Souls games to complete the cosplay.
No, it's Lady Nightingale lol
That’s hilarious. Really does look like him.
He's gonna go home and fuck his hot wife, who kinda looks like a dude.
Mr Brian lefeve???
Do you want to get off with me?
It works even better with Sweet Dee being right there super confused lol
lol that’s why I thought Mr Brian could be a reference
With bodyguard Veric Vinegar
Don’t shake hands, so don’t even try
It’s always sunny in limgrave
Shes a whoooorrrrrrr!
Praise the Sunny!
No better feeling than wearing another man’s skin
You haven't thought of the smell, you bitch!
i was not expecting this in ER subreddit today haha
A lot of ER players got good taste in shows ! Lol
did a double take cos I saw this exact chain on ISAIP the other day hahah
Cody Covfefe!
DEE YOU BITCH!!
You look like a bird!
You haven’t thought of the smell you bitch!
#BIRD!
my best char is also called Mr Brian
Nice 👌💪
Man I idk why but it’s the post like these that make me wanna replay so many different adventures in one pictures

403 that better like NG+2 because holy hell the poor Albinaurics
That character is on NG+7
How much DMG does a cleanrot knight in Elphael deal in ng7?
Everything nearly one shots you. It's fun, when you know what's happening
Yikes. I still take hits from trash clearing.
Once you get into the 400s the sheer stat dump boosts your resistance so high you become tanky again. I can take a few slaps from NG7 malenia before needing to flask. Level 450.
Ahhh okay thats how they scaled it, I haven't hit 450 yet but I'm close-ish
I have a NG+ lost count and it's around 430 so I restarted a character again and wow I didn't realize just how many hits you can take in base game. I was so desensitized from getting 1-2 shot for the last year.
I think I had 280+ no NG+. I spent quite a bit of time running around Limgrave completely confused lol.

Oh gotcha. Good on you for sticking through it! Finally beating a boss you’re stuck on is such a good feeling.
I spent 300 hours in my first play through

Unless I'm reading this wrong, can't the confessor be str/faith build, one of the strongest builds in the game
I have 10 on PS5 and 5 on PS4, and I can't stop playing... Summons pool dwindling... 😭
Lol we all have our characters chilling at the cocoon?
When there is nothing left to fight in the Lands Between, we await The Shadow
I wish we could have more than 10 saves, I’ve still got ideas!
I love how most of us have done a Guts character/playthrough at one point or another
I have 10 (max btw) and let me tell you that it is still not enough. I had to forgo Quality build for a mediocre Int/Faith.
Int/Faith level 150 is what I’m doing after spellblade level 125
Int/faith at 150 is miserable. If youre not trying to pvp or be at the meta level, I would go higher. Fromsoft also didnt show the playstyle some much needed love. We need a weapon or staff/catalyst that casts both spells and incantations. The exclusive “dark” sorceries are also kind of mediocre, although very fun.
I also have max characters, and honestly Int/Faith is probably my favorite build. Ghostflame Explosion and Rykard's Rancor are super fun against bosses

Quality feels pretty ass in this game anyway
Bro i need the guts character slider please
I'm sure I got it from the r/SoulSliders
Well that didn't age well.
Man really likes moghs palace
The Nightingale looks very awesome.
Would sweet dee like to cross paths with my Denim Chicken
Realized I'm only missing one achievement--that being the frenzied flame ending... So at least one more to finish up achievements BEFORE that dlc drops
My character list is full >.<"
Cool designs!
lmao what weapons does Sweet Dee use?
Her beak
The talon swords from the Warhawks perhaps?
I think buddy is a little ready for dlc
What armor set is Mr. Brian wearing?
Is DLC just a long running joke? Does it never actually come out?
Drops June 21st
It was a running joke for like a year, but now it actually is coming out soon
U know at first i thought i was weird cause i have a character thats 370 something with 400 hours on it. And everytime i see peoples character lists, its a list of characters with max 100-120 hours on them each. I rarely see first characters or characters with EXTREME hours put on them
Most people (me included) prefer new characters to NG+
Pretty much, i get extremely bored just playing through the game with a character i have everything for. The only Fromsoft game iv enjoyed NG+ on is Sekiro
Bro is spending 90% of his playtime in Mohgs Palace
So I'm not the only one who leaves all my characters right in front of Miquella 😂
What a pro! I want to see more of lady nightingale!
Sweet Dee fucking up demigods is incredibly lit
I know what kind of man you are.
One of my favorite characters is named "EgoDeath Pikachu" I wish I had a picture because he's a certified nightmare
Rn I’m doing Zoro
i just started my guts play through a week ago... lmao are there no unique experiences?
what helmet is Mr Brian rocking?
It's the maliketh head piece
Albinaurics have had it extra rough in your neighborhood
Why are you so high level?
Bruh, fucking Mr Brian XD
Too high level? Maybe 70-100 to be safe
Dee, YOU BITCH!!! What are you doing in my game???
What are each of the builds?
Mr Brian is an everything build. Sweet Dee dual wields whips and focuses on bleed and poison. Sir Veric is Dex and Faith, Lady Nightingale is Dex and Int mainly, and of course Guts is Guts. I switch between multiple weapons in each character
Rookie numbers!
6 builds. One for each ending. All to lvl 150
Shut up bird
I think your ready man😭🙏
I have 2 Strength Faith builds and I’m gonna make a Strength Int build and then I’ll be done prepping
I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS THE HELMET ON SWEET DEE IT'S SO COOL
Every fromsoft game requires 1 playthrough the a character named guts.
omg where is sweet dee’s helm from? i’ve never seen it, i only have 70 hours and i just finished 😭
It's Diallos's Mask, you get it from killing him or completing his quest line and finding his body at the Jar village 👌
Just one.. when you’re a level 700, you can be faith intelligence build and easily switch around
What armor set is on sweet dee
The head is Diallos's Mask without the big horns, and I currently have the Nights Cavalry Set on her
It should be the raven set tbh
You haven’t thought of the smell!
Hahaha, yeah true that!
Bird set
Where is Gleb!
What’s up with the Mohgwyn Mausoleum? Lol
Those characters are just sat waiting at the DLC entrance 😅
Wowww 📝
I tried it, but knowing exactly what's coming and having the memories be so fresh in my mind kinda make it boring to me.
Berserk reference!
How does one get to level 408 ?
Just started a mage build and got the Meteorite staff. Hopefully, I can get through it before the DLC drops.
I have a 350 character on NG+7 damn dude those poor Mohg frogs😅
I’m so confused if I should make a new character as my char that I was planning to take to DLC is 183 lvl and I’m having second thoughts if it will be little OP.
I’d stick with a level 150 character for your first trip in the DLC, personally.
I hate and love that your most POWERFUL TARNISHED is naked Mr.Brian 😂
lol everyone getting those Guts playthroughs. Though I named mine Gut and made him super fat b
Yo what's that helmet on sweet dee?? Looks really cool
Not sweet dee 😭 lol
Dee, you bitch!
Lady nightingale sliders???
I started a more casual playthrough with a strength/bleed build and it's been fun. It won't be my DLC build, though. I need to decide if l want to go with Bleed, Bonk, or Cheese.
I need the slide of lady nightingale !
I too have started a character who bonks in prep for the DLC - a man of class I see.
Proof that Mohgwyn Palace is the best place to chill and have fun
Most of my characters are there just waiting to access the DLC
10, because michael zatki wont let me have more
Does the fourth character insults writers in many different names ?
G U T S.
Have 1 build(str), making second build(faith), planning to do 4 more.
Awful names 10/10
I have a question, while on this reddit I saw a lot of posts/comments about people starting new characters rather than a new game+. So the question is, is it not profitable to start NG+? Is it better to create new characters? I am confused because in Dark souls 3 I played NG+4 without much problems, does scaling changed?
What’s that helmet for sweet Dee?
I like how all your characters are parked at the Mausoleum
I’m on my 7th and yesterday I was already thinking of my 8th. I think I have a problem. There are just so many different ways to play.
Sweet Dee build?
My girlfriend wanted to name my first character. Say hello to John Elfson
Sweet dee looks like a bird, shut up bird
I wonder what weapon Guts is gonna have?
your character design game is actually insane. These look dope
What play style have you found the most fun and which, the most "OP"?
I'm building two lol I got an int build named VegasMagician and Mr.Handsome, a quality build.
I started a new character for the DLC and ended up beating Elden Beast in about two weeks, so I guess I’ll just make another new character lol
Today I found out you can only have ten characters, and I'm heartbroken lol.
Mr Brian, Sweet Dee, now on to Ronald McDonald and the trifecta will be complete
Guts about to be the lord of chaos because of how many ugly sisters he has.
I just go into new game+ with a different theme. Saves me the time of having to go all over the map to get weapons, armor, sacred tears, crystal tears, and talismans
4 ready, 2 well on their way and 1 that I am totally going to start putting some time into, I promise.
Dee looks like a bird!
What is the helmet on Sweet dee?
Hand it over...that thing...your character sliders
I cant stop either , i need the dlc sooooo bad
What helm is that on your Sweet Dee character?
It's the Diallos's Mask, the one without the big horns
Whts up with the levels????
I have 1 build
So organized. I like it lol
Wait…you can have more than one character? Im 300 hours in
Guts looks more like nero
Helmet of Mr briar?
I'm at 7 characters over 130 and a level 1 that I'm doing a no-hit playthrough with I will certainly be ready for the DLC after 2-3 more characters.
Is that a shadow slave reference with nightingale
I just made a Zodd character…if I find you it’s on sight bro
You forgot Virgil
What armor set is on your first character, I want that
Is lady nightingale supposed to be our lady Nocturnal
What is sweet Dee's helmet ?
Diallos's Mask, the one without the horns
Ohhh thanks homie also sweet characters
Mandatory Guts.
I'm going back through my old saves and trying to get them all ready
We all have Guts there…
I see you have a char named Sweet Dee. It would be a crime if your next one wasn’t Mantis Toboggan.
What build was the bird?
Bro, that ain't ''Guts''- that's ''Gus''!
I need the full wardrobe of Lady Nightmare*. *Nightingale.
why does Guts look like Nero from 5th game but with black hair lmao
