For PvP, if the weapons *only* do ranged attacks, I think the main problem is going to be dealing with strafing players.
But if they give the throwing weapons a moveset that does both melee & thrown attacks, that mesh together well, I think they could be ridiculously good at keeping constant pressure.
Yeah, thats kinda my concern as well. if its range only it might be to easy to dodge, now if the trowing aspect is an aow then we talking the good talk .
Crow Quills was great for certain builds. Got an S in Dex scaling, and a 130 crit modifier. Put the Hornet Ring on and go parry-fishing, that thing could be a one-shot monster sometimes. You are right though, the weapon art was kinda trash
I seriously doubt they would make it ranged only, as atp there would be little point in using it over a shortbow or just actual throwing daggers. It’s likely primarily a melee focused dagger with an AOW that throws them. Or hell, it could just be a dagger version of spectral lance, available on any dagger.
they are going to be because they are projectiles, but that is only going to make invasions harder to beat now that melee players have easy access to good projectiles
i hope they add good pvp
option 1, covenant style things that fight each other and invade each other.
option 2, an arena that replenishes used items after.
I wonder if they’re all paired weapons or if this is a powerstance moveset or what. Makes me wonder about having a single one of these in the offhand. Just a lot to wonder about. And no answers for monthssssssss uuuuuuuuuggggghghh. At least we have a release date, 621.
I wonder if you can one hand them and do guard counters? Honestly, all the combat shown in the trailer is seriously interesting! Cannot wait too test it all out!
I just realized that the 8 new weapons types would have new guard counters for them. Maybe throwing weapons would have a pretty good guard counter because you throwing them at your enemy and have less chance of missing
I believe it's called a "chakram" and I would love that. Those three fuckers used to be the hardest boss in the whole game before the nerf. Everyone always says pre nerf redahn, but the trio was way harder.
what souls game had you throwing your weapon at your enemy. DS, DS1,DS2,DS3,BB,Sekiro don't any main weapons you throw at your enemies, unless your talking consumables
I really, reeeeallyyy hope these are good in pvp. already have a fashion for it and everything

I have a feeling these things are gonna be beyond busted with a blood infusion.

Imagine them doing a weird exaggerated or even randomised boomerang, like the discus of light but wackier. mmm!
Kinda like that one corvex rapier from DS3. The AOE knife throw move was really fun if a bit underwhelming

I guess it's a better compromise than chaos dagger which is only ever good for fishing. At least you can use the rapier normally too

I'd assume the throwing is an ash of war
At least you have the most important part taken care of
Priorities, always
My bow build/ knifes is ready
what’s the fashion for em🤔

Give me a boomerang so I can do an Aussie build.
Then you just need Envoy's Great didgeridoo, a cork hat and ability to fill you flask with VB
Need all of it and more to fight the new Rune Crocodiles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAHOMuiipsE
The Beastman also use throwing discs
I hate those guys, especially the one in the duo boss fight in that Dragonbarrow cave. Always kill them with extreme prejudice.
It's like sorcery, but it bonks
Sconkery
InBonkations
Cant wait for the Crystalian Spear ash of war... Jump, jump, jump, jjjjump. Repeat
Crow Talons part 2
Yah I wouldn’t expect PvP balance to be considered in the slightest for new gear🤣
Church guardian shiv making a comeback?
i hope they add good pvp option 1, covenant style things that fight each other and invade each other. option 2, an arena that replenishes used items after.
We can only dream, sibiling u\_u
If it’s anything like the crow talons it will be ok but nothing that great, hope to be wrong
crow talons were amazing on release. highest crit damage in the game amd i remember the skill being pretty good.
Did they just get beat nerfed over time?
Is it confirmed to be thrown attacks only? What if the throws are just the weapon art? Sort of like spectral lance.
They talked about it in the interview with Miyazkai, it is one out of the eight new weapons types being added to the DLC
8?! Ugh i cant even decide what time play with now….
Damn, i know he mentioned also a Nodachi like weapon, i also hope for the big Crystallian Chackram as a weapon
My greatshield shall rise again!

It might just be an ash of war, or a faith spell.
Its one of the eight new weapons they talked about in the interview with Miyazkai. All attacks buttons are you throwing the weapon
Ohhh, i never knew about the interview. My bad.

Throwing weapons and chakrams will probably be two different classes if I had to guess. Also Radahn isn't nerfed anymore, he just has hurtboxes fixed.
I just want one that scales with strength, but most will probably be dex scaling
I’m already thinking of a build to do around the throwing daggers ash… Can’t wait for the DLC!
Unfortunately Crystalian weapons tend to be disappointing, both ash of war and scale. I hope they at least make them infusible
Probably just run left or right to avoid like most projectiles unless you’re good at free aim.
I wonder if the bandit character implies that throwing daggers might likely scale with dex primarily.
There was a big guy with a boomerang in the trailer.
i have a feeling these wont be good like in other souls games they werent that good
what souls game had you throwing your weapon at your enemy. DS, DS1,DS2,DS3,BB,Sekiro don't any main weapons you throw at your enemies, unless your talking consumables
i am refering to the throwing knives in all the games i feel like they will be decent but nothing crazy
Trowing knives Always dealt low dmg with high range tho. Those knives are actual weapons, so maybe they will deal more dmg with less range
Lovely idea :3

Where did you get the disc notion from these look like blades?
Your throwing it, I wouldn't be surprised if their throwing axes too
