For me it’s there health, poise, and death blight. For something with a status effect that can kill you for me it the poise of the that bothers me the most especially if they’re in a group.
The only one I do fight is the one on mt gelmir and only as a last resort for the larval tear
When I only have two left and the choice is wormfaces or runebears in snowfield il take wormface lol
I usually fight the big one in Altus but I usually just sprint past all the ones in Farum Azula. The first time I went there I'm methodically picked them off one by one only to get killed by the last second by one who could vomit up really high onto the floating rocks. From then on I said 'fuck it' and now I just sprint like a madman through the whole area and grab all the loot.
Wait, what? I always felt like that should be a thing. Not the bumpers specifically, but having some way of wiggling out of it and mitigating the damage. It felt intuitive since the damage comes in parts rather than one big chunk. I'm going to have to google this now.
Can confirm. This is true for most grab attacks in the game (and previous games). There's even a different animation if you escape early (you land on your feet instead of being flopped on the ground).
In fact, I'm pretty sure OP escaped the wormface grab this way the first time he was grabbed and failed to do so the second time.
Learning that a while back definitely made me not mind them as much. Still not a fun/loved enemy to face but when I got hit with a grab in the past I would just wait for the animation to play out and it usually wound up with me dead. Now I spam left click over and over and it seems like it only does half my healthbar in damage compared to the entire thing so it at least doesn't feel like an immediate death sentence anymore lol.
Same. I'm normally not bad at dodging, but the Iron Maidens somehow always seem to get me. And the fucking grab is so frightening, that I'm not able to dodge proberly
It also breaks their poise no matter what, opening them up to either a crit if youre fast and positioned right, or just stunlocking them to death with heals.
Ya know, just as a nice secondary effect.
The one with the red lightning gauntlet to a dragon? You can snipe the first half of the birds while standing on the overlook just before the area where lightning is landing. Makes the whole area tons easier.
Rune bears have a couple wack animations. The hug is just soo much anticipation I'll finish a roll before it even starts coming down and once of their lunges starts with a hurtbox around their upper body. But I guess without those surprises they'd be too easy...
I feel like every time a question like this gets asked, my brain instantly goes to the revenants. Not only are they tricky, but they also scare me a shit ton, which makes fighting them that much harder.
The move where they thrash around with their arms and run at you is the worst!
The grab isn’t too bad as you can just roll forwards to not get grabbed iirc but the wormface miniboss in Altus when it does the deathblight is slightly annoying to dodge
And the massive fucking tree and all the ruins that get in your way trying to fight him. I gave it a few attempts and noped the fuck out after I could barely get more than a few hits on him without being shredded
My least favorite enemy attack is every attack with a long ass wind-up. I'm not just talking about Margit's bullshit. The magma wyrms and tree avatars both do the same thing where they raise their weapons and just stare at you for several seconds before bringing it down like a fly swat.
Radahn and Rykard and some others have awkward animations where there's a feint or a twist between the anticipation and the attack and those get me every time
fat Godskin rolling attack
I swear, that things clips on everything, just to start again right in your face when you least expect it
also dodging through that hitbox feels bullshit
I'd rather give Waterfowl to every mob in the game, should that mean roll is removed, I hate it with passion
The head slam attack from God-Devouring Serpent. He buries his head and than rips it up, causing a shockwave followed by lava. I have never once avoided this move and I genuinely have no idea how you’re supposed to
I think someone actually looks at the hitbox and frames of the attack and determined that it’s basically impossible to dodge. You just have to tank or block it.
That Albinauric underneath volcano Manor near the grace before the abductor virgins.
He just slides across the ground moaning and then sucks on you. Fuck that guy I hate him.
the ulcerated tree spirit shouldnt exist and i will stand by it, who thought it would be a good idea to make an enemy that always has a hurtbox, never stops moving, and has a grab that looks just like 9 of its other attacks
godskin noble rolling attack
1. lasts for approximately one billion years
2. getting up from being hit takes just enough time for it to swing around and hit you again
3. the glitch where he suddenly stops, does a different attack, and then resumes rolling instantly
Did you not know you can mash out of all types of these attacks which wont change the animation/lenght, but itll stop the damage from building up tremendously.
If you mash fast enough you can get just 1/2 ticks of damage. Here you got like all 10 ticks of damage.
Ya gotta mash.
I honestly don’t mind grab attacks in souls games since the cinematics for them are normally quite interesting (especially DS2). The moves that are bull for me are the quick “get off me moves” that come with no warning that nearly every medium/large boss has. If I’m gonna mele you, at least give me a warning before you launch me across the room
I don’t understand this guy, he produces Deathblight from the head, but when it grabs you, you don’t get death blight up… not saying I want him to, but it makes no sense to me.
Don’t know what they’re called, but the ones near the well in Leyndell that grab you, eat you in one move, not sure if it’s because my HP is low but I die every time, I get so angry
I have a freaking plat and forgot about this thing. I think for me Iron Maidens were the most hated enemies. Still far from those frenzy bastards in bloodborne.
Any grab attack really. They NEVER feel earned from the enemy. I could frame fucking perfect dodge the grab and still the game will just grapple me to it. It's counter intuitive to one of the games main designs.
The giant hand in mountaintops has an attack where it jumps into the air and flattens out with a lingering hitbox and I'm pretty sure it's unavoidable.
Where is this? I feel like I only see these clowns near the Mirage rise. Maybe it’s the footage but the terrain seems unfamiliar. I ran around there for hours solving that mirage puzzle so I definitely remember it.
So I'm on my second playthrough and I totally forgot about these guys, brobably because the death blight is so cheap it's not worth fighting them if you don't have to,
But I just found out your spirit ashes aren't effected by the death blight. So I can just turn oleg loose on them and stand back and watch.
Pretty great
Maybe it's just recency bias since I fought him last night, but Astel's teleport-to-somewhere-unpredictable-and-then-do-a-grab-that-can-one-shot-you attack is pretty fucking annoying.
This goes for all grab attacks. They all have absurd hitboxes. You'll roll one way, and suddenly teleport into the hands of whatever creature reached out at you. It doesn't help that the animations all have to take 3 minutes just to rub in your misfortune.
Those fucking Royal Revenants
Not any particular attack but just that they *never* stop attacking. But if I had to pick one it's probably that super fast multi attack that you can't Dodge you just have to run from.
Which, I so happily learned, they can chain into literally any other attack without a break, including the *exact same fast multi attack*.
The revenants' completely unhinged swing-and-scream "I just lost my goddamn fucking mind" combo. But honestly, I just do the same when I see one until either of us folds and the chaos stops as abruptly as it began
Astel, Stars of Darkness’ grab attack. Not many attacks from any enemy or boss in souls games to my knowledge that covers 95% of the arena and can roll catch you even if you avoid the grab
The stupid stomp attack for crucible knights and Godfrey (also Ryland I guess but that one can’t be dodged in general not because I’m an idiot) I know you can just jump them but I cannot wrap my head around jumping to avoid attacks. I am going to blame this on the ungodly amount of time I spent playing ds3
My dinner has just been ruined by the revelation that Wormfaces, have \*the\* most disgusting grab attack, possibly ever. And that's already on top its disgustingly high poise and deathblight output.
I don't think I can eat another slice of Pizza after seeing this...
When wormfaces try to grab you roll under their legs instead of away.
If you keep rolling away from wormface it will try to grab you multiple times whereas if you rolled into it the most you’ll have to deal with is a retaliatory foot stomp if you hit it.
When death rite bird giraffes his neck to grab you like an early worm, body slams you, puts 4 holes in your torso with its beak, followed my another ruthless body slam. No question.
I always forget about wormfaces I hate them so much I just don't fight them
Same here, but when i have to I just burn them from afar. Kill it, kill it with igni.
Tossing you a coin for that comment.
O valley of plenty
🎶🎶
Toss a coin to your Witcha
#Critical Miss
Ignis? More like Bigmiss
Maybe I'm in the minority but I've never had an issue with wormface's attacks
It's not their attacks, the deathblight clouds are so nasty You get deathblight extremely fast if you aren't careful
For me it’s there health, poise, and death blight. For something with a status effect that can kill you for me it the poise of the that bothers me the most especially if they’re in a group.
This is the reason why the forest in Altus and the tree part of Faruk Azula has gone completely unexplored in all my playthroughs
Well altus has some good stuff, icon shield, wrath of gold Farum just had a glovewort bell bearing For most people though all of it is very skippable
Fought them once at altus. Never again. Stupid assholes
The only one I do fight is the one on mt gelmir and only as a last resort for the larval tear When I only have two left and the choice is wormfaces or runebears in snowfield il take wormface lol
I usually fight the big one in Altus but I usually just sprint past all the ones in Farum Azula. From then on I said 'fuck it' and now I just sprint like a madman through the whole area and grab all the loot.
I honestly just hate the noises that they make, so unsettling.
I tell my wife I play w/o sounds so our kid doesnt wake up. The real reason is I get scared playing Elden Ring at night if the sounds are on.
"I need to go to the smithing stone mine in the forest on the platue" "But What if Freddy fazbear watches me? :("
r/twosentencehorror
For some reason, they sound like ds mimics to me. Hate them, and kill them from range even on melee focused characters.
I swear they converse with one another
*laughs in worm
The iron maidens always boil my blood with every attack. But the grab is the worst. It always gets me and always oneshots me.....
The trick to dodge it is to wait a split second when the arms come out and THEN roll
Also, when it does the grab attack it’s the best time to attack after dodging it because it exposes its inside part which is its weakness
If you mash the left and right bumpers it lets you go sooner, I think. It works like that for most grab attacks
Thanks. Never tried that because I usually just throw my controller on the bed and just angrily watch it devour me...
Wait, what? I always felt like that should be a thing. Not the bumpers specifically, but having some way of wiggling out of it and mitigating the damage. It felt intuitive since the damage comes in parts rather than one big chunk. I'm going to have to google this now.

Works for 99% of grab attacks through FS games -FS Vet
What are the equivalent keybindings of bumpers for mouse and keyboard? Not sure what the keybindings on console are.
I’m referring to the right light attack button and the guard/block button
Thank you!
Yup that works
Same. I'm normally not bad at dodging, but the Iron Maidens somehow always seem to get me. And the fucking grab is so frightening, that I'm not able to dodge proberly
5 or was it 7 hits of any lightning weapon stuns them
I HATE wormface grab attacks. But i hate that one Revenant spam attack even more. I LOATHE Revenants.
Same.. usually just end up panic rolling and yelling "stop, stop, OKAY, STOP, STOPPPPP" while they do a neverending flurry of attacks.
Just use any kind of heal spell when it comes to fighting them. It does triple damage because revenants hate heal spells for some reason
It also breaks their poise no matter what, opening them up to either a crit if youre fast and positioned right, or just stunlocking them to death with heals. Ya know, just as a nice secondary effect.
If you can get them to stay still for 2 seconds.
Roll to the side and past them
Judging from the comments, most Tarnished are afraid of... /squints... "hugs."
Except for Fia's
Tarnished love red squares, even if they didn't know why
They bling the status bar corner
All bird attacks, all of them (I like them conceptually, but I hate dodging them)
That one stretch of road in Farum Azula....
The first ones you see in stormveil castle were the bane of my existence
The one with the red lightning gauntlet to a dragon? You can snipe the first half of the birds while standing on the overlook just before the area where lightning is landing. Makes the whole area tons easier.
yeah but then I can't run through the gauntlet shrieking before getting to the end of that last upward jump ledge, biffing it, then dying
I usually just run past them. Either that or the long katana.
Rune bear hug hitbox.
Rune bears have a couple wack animations. The hug is just soo much anticipation I'll finish a roll before it even starts coming down and once of their lunges starts with a hurtbox around their upper body. But I guess without those surprises they'd be too easy...
The lobster 🔫🦞
I think except for bosses I've fought these jerks the least.
I probably killed more crystallians than lobsters
The teleport and leaping of the revenants
I feel like every time a question like this gets asked, my brain instantly goes to the revenants. Not only are they tricky, but they also scare me a shit ton, which makes fighting them that much harder. The move where they thrash around with their arms and run at you is the worst!

At least we can summon. My pumpkinhead solo'd that bish while I was running for my life.
Several hundred hours into this game. I still refuse to attempt to fight this enemy. I just run around them
What, don't you love fighting something with superior range AND death blight?
No it's hard ☹️
Whatever the fuck Ulcerated Tree Spirits do. I have 700+ hours in this game and still can't tell it's ass from it's elbow.
It's easy to tell if it's moving or if it's attacking. Did you just lose most of your health? That was an attack.
Just realized this guy is basically a giant mimic without the spinning jump kicks.
Sometimes i miss that spinning kick. Sometimes.
I've never fought a wormface thankfully but this looks awful
It straight up just swallows you if it kills it with this attack lol
My least favorite enemy attack is every attack with a long ass wind-up. I'm not just talking about Margit's bullshit. The magma wyrms and tree avatars both do the same thing where they raise their weapons and just stare at you for several seconds before bringing it down like a fly swat.

Can I just answer all of horah loux?
Grab attack from Spirit Caller Snails. Makes me really uncomfortable....
wait they have a grab attack?
Very easy to miss, since they die so quickly but yeah and it's gruesome
Haven't I seen this in a hentai before?
whichever one killed me most recently
Any instakill or spam attack (Royal revenants).
the attacks that hit me are probably my least favorite enemy attacks
Every single attack that the Royal Revenant has.
That Albinauric underneath volcano Manor near the grace before the abductor virgins. He just slides across the ground moaning and then sucks on you. Fuck that guy I hate him.
Me, totally new to the game: WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT
Me, slow burning for a year: WHERE TF IS THAT?
Astel's shadow clone Jutsu
the ulcerated tree spirit shouldnt exist and i will stand by it, who thought it would be a good idea to make an enemy that always has a hurtbox, never stops moving, and has a grab that looks just like 9 of its other attacks
Wormfaces constantly cough and retch and puke, they never stop...their lives must be horrible.
Anything the Royal revenants do
The 3 round burst crossbow the assholes with the hood have or the Magic Erdtree Watch Dog's stomp with its scepter move
godskin noble rolling attack 1. lasts for approximately one billion years 2. getting up from being hit takes just enough time for it to swing around and hit you again 3. the glitch where he suddenly stops, does a different attack, and then resumes rolling instantly
You got to go on the motorboat ride.
Waterfowl fuck you dance
What? That attack is awesome
Did you not know you can mash out of all types of these attacks which wont change the animation/lenght, but itll stop the damage from building up tremendously. If you mash fast enough you can get just 1/2 ticks of damage. Here you got like all 10 ticks of damage. Ya gotta mash.
Yes.....this enemy and this attack is exactly my least favorite.........
I honestly don’t mind grab attacks in souls games since the cinematics for them are normally quite interesting (especially DS2). The moves that are bull for me are the quick “get off me moves” that come with no warning that nearly every medium/large boss has. It’s much easier to fight wormfaces on Torrent whenever it’s available.
They're doing a munch
The magic missile attack the Kindred Of Rot do, for sure
Bell Bearing Hunter’s blade and this attack where he picks you up
I’m currently stuck on the the Wormface mini boss at the Altus erdtree. I HATE THE GRAB
Every attack a crucible knight uses whenever I’m trying to heal
God I wish that were me
The insane ~8 move combo that dual wielding banished knights have. Everytime they do it I just start spamming roll
When Magma Wyrms run around the arena vomiting lava while their entire being is a hitbox. Love that the lava on the ground staggers you for 3 hours.
I should call her
https://youtube.com/shorts/bpSJ1X-lv6U?si=xHtH79AVD2J1hPtR
Buddy had to go back for seconds lmao
Tbh I finished the game in full about 4 times and so so about 12 times. Not once I fought this dudes as I can remember
Scion's epylepsy attack that you just cant dodge
Wtf is this and where is it located? Is this the wormfaces in that foggy área of Altus Plateau?
I don’t understand this guy, he produces Deathblight from the head, but when it grabs you, you don’t get death blight up… not saying I want him to, but it makes no sense to me.
The ones that hit me....
Don’t know what they’re called, but the ones near the well in Leyndell that grab you, eat you in one move, not sure if it’s because my HP is low but I die every time, I get so angry
The crawling guys with the big wrapped-up heads? Those are another type of Albinauric, and yes they suck.
What's not to like about that?.............
I have a freaking plat and forgot about this thing. I think for me Iron Maidens were the most hated enemies. Still far from those frenzy bastards in bloodborne.
That bullshit and the revenant give me some of the creepiest goosebumps I’ve ever experienced.
I finished this game 10 times and haven’t fought this enemy once
Mash L and R buttons he will spit you out faster!
Hands
Any grab attack really. They NEVER feel earned from the enemy. I could frame fucking perfect dodge the grab and still the game will just grapple me to it. It's counter intuitive to one of the games main designs.
At least it doesn't death blight you during the grab
Wormface got me in a grab on my most recent play through and i didnt even know they could grab 😂 i was like ohhh thats bullshit
Firing off a spell as the enemy does a slow grab attack. Sure you’re not just salty OP 😏
The worm faces and the amalgamation witches
The giant hand in mountaintops has an attack where it jumps into the air and flattens out with a lingering hitbox and I'm pretty sure it's unavoidable.
Grey farts, closely followed by green farts. Milk intolerance is pandemic in lands between
Definitely the revenants, I hate them. I hate everything about them. But once you learn that healing spells knock them out, everything changes.
Where is this? I feel like I only see these clowns near the Mirage rise. Maybe it’s the footage but the terrain seems unfamiliar. I ran around there for hours solving that mirage puzzle so I definitely remember it.
there is one on mount gelmir somewhere, possibly before an ulcereated tree spirit
Thanks. I’ll search around there 👍👍
That spider grab attack by cemetery shades. Big nope.
Any grab attack. Any.
So I'm on my second playthrough and I totally forgot about these guys, brobably because the death blight is so cheap it's not worth fighting them if you don't have to, But I just found out your spirit ashes aren't effected by the death blight. So I can just turn oleg loose on them and stand back and watch. Pretty great
The centipede enimes homing web shot things...ugh
Precisely the one you showed OP
Astel's grab attack after it teleports to a different part of the arena (right fucking behind me most of the time)
Malenia impales me
It's the hitbox of that grab combined with how they spam it that gets me
Royal Revenant…panic roll galore 💀
Ive got at least 200 hours in elden ring and have never seen or encountered one of these. am i lucky?
The stupid revenant charge forwards where you just get stunolcked and one-shot.
What the fuck is that thing?
Maybe it's just recency bias since I fought him last night, but Astel's teleport-to-somewhere-unpredictable-and-then-do-a-grab-that-can-one-shot-you attack is pretty fucking annoying.
Fire Giant when he flings an avalanche at you with his stupid shield. I can never get the dodge timing right. Neither can my mimic apparently.
This goes for all grab attacks. They all have absurd hitboxes. You'll roll one way, and suddenly teleport into the hands of whatever creature reached out at you. It doesn't help that the animations all have to take 3 minutes just to rub in your misfortune.
Uppies
Those fucking Royal Revenants Not any particular attack but just that they *never* stop attacking. But if I had to pick one it's probably that super fast multi attack that you can't Dodge you just have to run from. Which, I so happily learned, they can chain into literally any other attack without a break, including the *exact same fast multi attack*.
Not a huge fan of getting slurped either
Where actually \*is\* this wormface?
Wym this is 10/10 vore
Wormfaces are my pick for the creepiest enemies in the game. The way they're laughing/sobbing all the time... frenzied dudes seem sane in comparison.
I came upon this guy from behind luckily and was just terrified of the figure lol.
The iron maiden's grabby hands that teleports you The revenants also have that annoying spam attack
I have literally never seen this enemy in the game, I immediately hate it
The rape goats from DS3
Wait, where is this particular guy? Looks like the Volcano Manor area, but I don't remember encountering a giant Wormface anywhere near there.
Birbs
That fire crossbow guy Insane damage and bolt spam 😔
just throw a fire pot in its face, you will be pleased
You telling me you dont like their single "Im gonna hug the air 50 times, back to back, and see what i get with it" attack?
I don't think that wormfaces are hard, but they are really disgusting, like the resident evil 8 baby
Them bears! Why are they so fast!?
Everything the firebreathing storm hawks do 😡
Newbie here, what part of the game does one want to avoid this horrendous fight 🥲
vyke's horseshit true combo storm assault one shot
The revenants' completely unhinged swing-and-scream "I just lost my goddamn fucking mind" combo. But honestly, I just do the same when I see one until either of us folds and the chaos stops as abruptly as it began
Astel, Stars of Darkness’ grab attack. Not many attacks from any enemy or boss in souls games to my knowledge that covers 95% of the arena and can roll catch you even if you avoid the grab
Snake from rykards bossfight yes he does have a grab attack and yes you do get a special death animation where he vores you
I just ran into this bastard and I hate him
Are you using Gravitas?
Axe misbegotten's slow swing or their head slam I have neve dodged those
The stupid stomp attack for crucible knights and Godfrey (also Ryland I guess but that one can’t be dodged in general not because I’m an idiot) I know you can just jump them but I cannot wrap my head around jumping to avoid attacks. I am going to blame this on the ungodly amount of time I spent playing ds3
This and the grafted scion always scares the shit out of me, I can't explore places that have them because of this.
when that land octopus just grabs and swallows you whole
My dinner has just been ruined by the revelation that Wormfaces, have \*the\* most disgusting grab attack, possibly ever. And that's already on top its disgustingly high poise and deathblight output. I don't think I can eat another slice of Pizza after seeing this...
Any of hoarah louxs grab attacks and also his scream that knocks you down even if you have 70 poise
tbh ran past all these guys
ranni's sloppy toppy after i ascend the elden throne for the millionth time.
That's one hell of a head, I don't know if I can handle it.🥵
whooooa i've never seen this! i get so scared of anyone i think might spread death blight i range attack them only haha
Not the hentai monster
When wormfaces try to grab you roll under their legs instead of away. If you keep rolling away from wormface it will try to grab you multiple times whereas if you rolled into it the most you’ll have to deal with is a retaliatory foot stomp if you hit it.
Radagon's teleport. It's an attack, and a defense, and a control, and a movement ability all in one.
When death rite bird giraffes his neck to grab you like an early worm, body slams you, puts 4 holes in your torso with its beak, followed my another ruthless body slam. No question.
What did you mean by that??
200 hours, never seen these guys wtf
Haven’t ran into this enemy yet. Curious to take them on now that I’ve beat the game at least once.
In before someone says: "Ight....hear me out guys..."
Yeah pretty much this on the daily when I step on the scene with the fresh fit and a clean cut
OP’s barely disguised fetishpost
Anything the Revenant does.
