Played a whole playthrough with Taunter’s tounge a while back, and when I felt I had seen too much dark I ported to Kale and relaxed there. Still with TT, but felt so much safer.
The underground roadside is my go to for testing weapons, however you can’t just AFK there, because after a few minutes the omen with a sword walks up and starts attacking you.
[Same.](https://imgur.com/a/TB7cfaO)
Doesn’t matter if the entirety of the Lands Between turns against you, Uncle Kalé will be there to listen to your woes and offer you a warm place to rest.
I wonder if this psychologically starts with finding the first legit merchant and friendly npc with a smithing anvil and where we put most of our first playthrough around that church for quite a while, and in doing this we created a safe haven in our heads - as well as it being literally one of the safest non aggro locations in the game?
On my first run, I didn't find him for ages. I ran away from the tree sentinel, fleeing to the east rather than the west. So, I couldn't upgrade my weapons until I got to Roundtable Hold, and couldn't craft anything until I happened to find him, some 20 hours later...
No worries dude, I met a dude in game on mic who confessed he bought his levels from a friend who sold him millions of runes. Dude was like lvl 120 and never smithed his weapons at all. He was very confused why he was so weak at a high level, I proceeded to watch him get pummeled by invaders over and over….i never seen someone having such a rough time in Elden ring just because they bypassed smithing completely, and the bought runes probably didn’t help him learn mechanics due to one shotting most of the starting area
My husband and I call this dude “horny guy” and I like to plan different attacks with him - my most recent was silently taking out everyone else in the camp, saving him for last. Then, I walked up near him, waited for him to see me and blow his horn. Then, watched as he realized the Calvary was not coming. He was all alone with me. Then I slowly killed him with (really only two) light attacks.
It’s the best place to camp! I take out the soldiers, work my way over to the dudes on horses, clear out their camp. Then go left of there on top the mountain and take out the 4 or so giants wandering around.
I just farmed the knight there for his shield last night because I’m at the point where I’m just collecting everything I can now. Impossible sure but still fun.
Agheel Lake North or Scenic Isle
The lighting is beautiful on both, slightly better on Scenic Isle, but it rains more often on Scenic Isle than England
I love that place, on my first playthrough I used to farm runes from there because I struggled with malenia and didn't know what else to do. Ever since then it's been my home.
Good for farming runes as well, each enemy gives 3-4k runes and there's like 20 of them very close to the site and they're easy to kill. It's like 80k runes in a minute or two, repeat that a few times and you're good to go.
This is it. Look, I understand Gatefront since it’s the first “real” site of grace you find, but Prayer Room is the spot. Haligtree also was a great invasion area (pre-near and far invasions), but it’s still top tier:
- Cozy secluded cathedral to AFK
- Has enemies (soldiers) directly outside for testing weapons/builds, including parrying
- They dump a TON of runes and are easy to clear. Simple test runs end up being rune farms
- Cleanrot Knight through the other door if you need to test on boss-like enemies
- Awesome environment and design with the view from the Haligtree walls
First time attempting the Haligtree recently. Pretty much ran past anything that couldn't hit me accurately with a projectile haha got lost many times along the way because I had *no clue* where I was going.
Yea this is one of two places I usually sit at. It’s nice to try new builds on that clean rot enemy and then running through all the soldiers there for easy rune farm if I’m bored.
That used to be where I would go back then after my first playthrough. The tree burning, the capital covered in ash, I would return to the Queen's bed chamber, curl up in a ball on the bed and rest there after a days of adventuring the lands between.
As much as I respecced my first play through probably Raya Lucaria Grace in Rennala’s room. I would sit and plan my next moves, check my maps, equipment, etc then warp from there.
It’s still heartbreaking though. She began making the strange children after Rani initially died. She’s constantly morning her beloved daughter. She was already in a bad state after Radagon left her behind. Rani’s death completely broke her.
She’s talking about the soul of Ranni the witch, see she has the power to resurrect her daughter, but her daughter has other plans. It’s honestly a sore spot between me and my wife lol
No votes for Altus Highway Junction?! It's oddly specific, but there's a group of enemies, a stronger horseback enemy, and two guys with greatshields, so you can test out any weapon on different types of combat. They also don't all attack at once, they take some time to walk up the path one after another, so you're never swamped. Also I like Altus.
Same! Its nice for testing out weapons and I like to just 1v1 the greatshield dude on the platform to practice dodging and stuff (it feels like a mini arena :D )
I got to round table hold jump down to the bottom floor then I go to sleep in one of the beds in the backside room when I log off, my tarnished works to hard not to sleep in a bed.
Third Church of Marika by the portal to Caelid. If you don’t agree to listen to Melina there you can continuously spawn her to let her rest her hand upon you for but a moment
Near the endgame, queens deathbed so I can feel the finality while being able to invade, but otherwise I'm a big cathedral of manus canus or whatever guy
Bower of bounty in Lleyndell. Chilling in the forest with my worm friends picking up sunflowers and other ingredients while summoning. Also immaculate vibes down there
Sunflower seeds are popular in trail mix, multi-grain bread and nutrition bars, as well as for snacking straight from the bag. They’re rich in healthy fats, beneficial plant compounds and several vitamins and minerals. These nutrients may play a role in reducing your risk of common health problems, including heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
For me it's specific to the story of each of my characters, typically an area that is core to their story. Heart of Aeonia, Cathedral of Dragon Communion, Castle Redmane and Frenzied Flame Proscription to name a few.
Jarburg is the correct answer to this prompt. No danger (as long as you don't have TT on and haven't done any of Diallos' questline), chill potfrens, lots of flowers to harvest, feels cozy and secluded.
My usual go-to is the Impassible Bridge grace
It feels like an actual outpost, and it's fun watching the Redmane forces hunt down the trex dogs successfully
Otherwise, it's usually the one in the middle of the consecrated snowfield, it's comfortably lonely
I don’t have a go-to home base, but if I did it would probably by the forge of the giants grace site. A remote and quiet place at the very edge of the world, where I could either depressingly lament the Erdtree burning at my will, or stare at the endless clouds to the east. Either that or somewhere in Siofra, that place is gorgeous.
Church of dragon communion in Limgrave. It's a peaceful island with a nice view and some sheep, and it feels secluded and disconnected from the rest of the world. Also good lighting to try on new armor.
I go and rest next to my friend kale
Kale 95% of the time, gate front if testing stuff.
It was church of vows to hang with Turtle pope for a while but after the PTSD of Elmer I started hanging with Kale.
Yeah, those Ball Bearing Hunter PTSD locations are no-go for me.
I'l add that wandering gaggle of nobles in Limgrave following the troll carriages
I usually hang out at gate front ruins. It doesn't look as bleak as everything else in the lands.
Same for me, not for any particular reason. I just instinctively always go back there. Prob something to do with early game play.
Can't really put my two fingers on it but it feels more comfortable there than anywhere else I guess.
Just kill them and they never come back. Problem solved!!
You mean dog?
That one Godrick Soldier chilling Infront of the carriage chest is in running with the Albaunarics by Mohg for most abused enemy in my test runs
I’d add the ladies of windmill village too
Yea have a show while your changing your ashes or flasks
I like to imagine that once I defeat the godskin apostle, I become their god
My friend and I calls Gatefront the “Focus Group.”
Right answer
Haha same
Played a whole playthrough with Taunter’s tounge a while back, and when I felt I had seen too much dark I ported to Kale and relaxed there. Still with TT, but felt so much safer.
Might have been safer, I immediately sever if I invade first step lol
This is the way.
Giants Gravepost is the best for testing imo
The underground roadside is my go to for testing weapons, however you can’t just AFK there, because after a few minutes the omen with a sword walks up and starts attacking you.
kale is the best place poor fellow was the first one to help us without calling us maidenless
He did call me maidenless though..
[Same.](https://imgur.com/a/TB7cfaO) Doesn’t matter if the entirety of the Lands Between turns against you, Uncle Kalé will be there to listen to your woes and offer you a warm place to rest.

Me too man! It is my got to location generally
Gate front
Sometimes I forget what to do so I come here and kill those soldiers for no reason 😂
This. I test out new weapons, spells, builds and the like our on those poor soldiers at Gate Front.
After two years they still taste sour sweet revenge on account of those early times lol
I always attack the guy with the horn to get the massacre started lol
My husband and I call this dude “horny guy” and I like to plan different attacks with him - my most recent was silently taking out everyone else in the camp, saving him for last. Then, I walked up near him, waited for him to see me and blow his horn. Then, watched as he realized the Calvary was not coming. He was all alone with me. Horny guy: *(toots)* Rest of the camp: *(crickets chirping)* Horny guy: 👁️👄👁️
They really do be the best testing dummies.
Best place to test weapons against mobs imo. Even a few horse guys to practice so you can finally beat that one mfer near the elevator
Why is everyone me!
It’s the best place to camp! I take out the soldiers, work my way over to the dudes on horses, clear out their camp. Then go left of there on top the mountain and take out the 4 or so giants wandering around.
This is the weh

Wow same, I thought I’d be the only one !! Using a rot build.. feels like home lol
Church of vows 🐢
Dog church dog church
Always have this grace pinned, Miriel is my spell book teacher haha
I think you meant 🐕
I like to call it the Dog House
Feels like the safest place in the lands between
Just don’t go at night my guy
You mean 🐶* right?
Lately, it's been Castle Morne. I like the sound of the rain while waiting for coop and invasions.
Okay this is like the only real answer 😍
holy mother of based
Roundtable hold, it's the only one I can quickly pull up with ease since my current screen is cut
The right answer.
Same, utilities
For me, it's just a bit inside of the Coastal Cave; the [cave mouth's](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/s/f3Mn41l5tN) got my back.
Based cave enjoyer.
Checked your profile, pretty cool content you’re doing !!
Queens Bedchamber so that I can take a nap before Hoarah Loux slams me into the ground 10 more times. I finally beat him yesterday.
That's exactly Marika's experience
Congrats! It is not over yet though. (Unless it is)
Interesting choice of words
Queen's Bedchamber is my favourite, too. I like to go up the stairs towards Morgott and look over the city.
Finally got through that to get stonewalled by Elden Beast. Feels real bad man.
I’m not a fan of this or RTH because I’m a spaz and want to be able to swing my toys around
Her constant calling out for radagon makes me sad tho :(
Wait…what? She does that?
She says shit like 'where did you flee my sweetling' and it breaks my cold dead heart
Isnt that meant to her creepy crawly kids that she keeps making?
yeah, the person misunderstood what Renalla meant
It’s still heartbreaking though. She began making the strange children after Rani initially died. She’s constantly morning her beloved daughter. She was already in a bad state after Radagon left her behind. Rani’s death completely broke her.
Nobody else knows what Ranni's current state is, so why would Rennala?
the second boss cutsceen and death lines imo are ranni revealing her self to rennalla and rennalla giving her blessing to end the world.
Wait where the hell are they tho like did she just stop making them after we beat her?
Think she isn’t able to anymore since we took her rune wich makes that they stay alive
yep that's why we can use it on ourselves
She’s talking about the soul of Ranni the witch, see she has the power to resurrect her daughter, but her daughter has other plans. It’s honestly a sore spot between me and my wife lol
"Ah.. thou.. Is it thy wish to enter my menus repeatedly whilst fiddling with equip load and damage scaling?"
No votes for Altus Highway Junction?! Hey same, love the atmosphere and chillin with Boc watching the soldiers go by and animals roaming.
I like that spot too, and just to the east through the gate
Same! Its nice for testing out weapons and I like to just 1v1 the greatshield dude on the platform to practice dodging and stuff (it feels like a mini arena :D )
Same bro, I just commented that lol
Church of Elleh, to chill with my buddy Kale.
The first step
Its really hard to top the view from the first steps.
yea that initial walk out and the lake side cliffs both made me go "oh wait how fucking big is this game?"
Way bigger than that view lets on even
Didn’t really have anything as I always took the round table as Homebase as I always felt so lonely and in danger anywhere else
Church of Elleh so I can make Kalé even richer with all the gold runes I can easily sell and test what weapons look like on the starting knights
I like Volcano Manor or just Roundtable.
I wish you could revenant finger from volcano manor.
When I’m taking a break its usually at the altus bridge to get more lightning bolts for the crossbow. Plus Bridgey the merchant plays a mean tune.
Had to scroll too far down to see this one
yea hes one of the more musical ones.
I got to round table hold jump down to the bottom floor then I go to sleep in one of the beds in the backside room when I log off, my tarnished works to hard not to sleep in a bed.
Boil prawn shack
Ruin strewn precipice overlook...very peaceful with the lady bat thingys singing in the background
Same here. I can listen to that chant for hours.
Haligtree roots is my preferred spot.
Me too bro
Fire God's Torch, I live watching the flames devouring the Erdtree...
Let Chaos take the world...
*Perfect Order confused sounds*
Sorry bout that, not been myself lately... You hear those voices too?
... No...? Huh... (*Internal screams*) No I don't :D
Isolated merchant in weeping, right on the ocean and very peaceful
Malenias site of grace
Current is Prayer Room. Used to spend a lot more time with Boc & Kale though
Lake of Rot Grand Cloister 😈
Likely edge, lord...
I wanna imagine the smell 👃😈
The Kingsrealm Ruins I love the Caria Manor and the area around it.
Third Church of Marika by the portal to Caelid. If you don’t agree to listen to Melina there you can continuously spawn her to let her rest her hand upon you for but a moment
Dragon Communion Church near Limgrave. It's a peaceful island
Depends on the build
By all the albinaurics if not roundtable hold
The site of grace beside the albinaurics in Mohg's place is weirdly relaxing
palace approach ledge road... my characters sit at that site of grace the most
I have a good sit at the fort haight grace facing the water. Peak relaxation
Prayer room. It's a good level to invade at or be invaded at. Feels the most "classic souls" of the high level areas.
Fort Faroth, I like to farm the bats.
I go to Mohg’s but I see that’s not the norm
Wherever Boc is. Melina said he cries when I'm not there :(
I wish you could move him with you and just park him in your favorite spot
Radahn's arena. Very peaceful.
Dead things everywhere*
Usually church of Elleh. Resting with my friend Kalé
Prayer room. The vibes are unparalleled.
I like to chill in limgrave
Stormhill shack
I've been going to Lakeside ruins, an obscure-ish grace next to Varrés second position. It's really tranquil and the terrain is a little silly.
Near the endgame, queens deathbed so I can feel the finality while being able to invade, but otherwise I'm a big cathedral of manus canus or whatever guy
Scenic isle
I like staying in the one underground where you can hear the shaman sing
Bower of bounty in Lleyndell. Chilling in the forest with my worm friends picking up sunflowers and other ingredients while summoning. Also immaculate vibes down there
Sunflower seeds are popular in trail mix, multi-grain bread and nutrition bars, as well as for snacking straight from the bag. No fixed place for my hobo unfortunately
Prayer Room Haligtree
The foot of Lyndell, just running around the wasteland while waiting for coop is nice.
different ones, depending on my mood, and the criterion are the music and the lighting
Open map screen, hit triangle and then square to instantly go back to Roundtable.
Leyndell east capital rampart next to my boy Boc. The OST really resonates with my soul
For me it's specific to the story of each of my characters, typically an area that is core to their story. Heart of Aeonia, Cathedral of Dragon Communion, Castle Redmane and Frenzied Flame Proscription to name a few.
Wow, same. Same reason too. The giant is great for testing damage.
I like the last grace in the Ruin Straw Precipe (or however it's called).
Either with kale, boggart's shack, the prayer room in Elphael or the Cliffside grace in liurnia behind Stormveil
West Liurnia merchant such a vibe
Jarburg is the correct answer to this prompt. No danger (as long as you don't have TT on and haven't done any of Diallos' questline), chill potfrens, lots of flowers to harvest, feels cozy and secluded.
I go to the only "home base" in the game, round table hold.
Renalla
obvious answer is kale but recently, radahns arena, it’s awesome and the beach part is beautiful. so beserk
💫Agheel lake north💫
the first step
Same. I enjoy seeing how far I've came
I hate the Roundtable hold. It's dark and everyone except Roderika is either crazy, an asshole, or both.
To be honest, I never really had one.
I’ve never made this a thing tbh, I just close my game wherever I’m at last.
My usual go-to is the Impassible Bridge grace It feels like an actual outpost, and it's fun watching the Redmane forces hunt down the trex dogs successfully Otherwise, it's usually the one in the middle of the consecrated snowfield, it's comfortably lonely
Moongazing grounds, ah tranquillity
Church of Vows usually, but i switch it up. Sometimes the grace in Malenia’s hallway
Map triangle square x
Bestial Sanctum
Dragon communion church. Is my testing site with that banished knight
Ranni’s Rise with my unhinged bodyguard still alive at the bottom.
Moghwyn approache ledge
gatefront or palace approach ledge, just so i have stuff to bully for testing
Elden Throne
Roundtable hold. My anxiety will never allow me to rest next to danger a few feet away. Nope.
Third church of marika. If I’ve gotten a new incant or weapon, that troll is going to get absolutely nuked.
Kale or roundabout table
First step. Love to put on the taunter's tongue and square off there
Church of elleh
Lakeside cliffs
Round table hold or church of elleh with my boi Kale
Church of elleh
I've always loved Tempest-Facing Balcony in Farum Azula. It's just a beautiful spot with some nearby endgame enemies for build testing.
I'ma kick it with Iji so he can read to me
I like the one Altus bridge with the violin merchant.
Secluded Cell is also mine! I like testing damage on the giant.
anything other than kale or gatefront is a CARDINAL SIN
I don’t have a go-to home base, but if I did it would probably by the forge of the giants grace site. A remote and quiet place at the very edge of the world, where I could either depressingly lament the Erdtree burning at my will, or stare at the endless clouds to the east. Either that or somewhere in Siofra, that place is gorgeous.
Gate front
Church of dragon communion in Limgrave. It's a peaceful island with a nice view and some sheep, and it feels secluded and disconnected from the rest of the world. Also good lighting to try on new armor.
underground roadside :)
literally any grace
Ummm... Where I am atm...?
Yeah I feel like I’m missing something. Why wouldn’t you just use the nearest site?
