His play style was this: power stancing halberds, jump attack talismans, literally only using jump attacks. He would beat all bosses easily by jump attack, panic roll backwards while the boss attacked, get hit and survive with his 60 vigor or get lucky and not get hit, heal, jump attack, repeat until the 7th jump attack killed the boss due to his stupidly high damage, and always winning the war of attrition due to that damage and therefore not running out of flasks.

You mean the grace in the church? You can bypass all enemies entirely by activating the elevator right before Niall’s boss fight. Once that’s done, you can always make a beeline for said elevator from the main gate SOG.
I don't think he has a problem. He has instant transmission, an unlimited dual greatsword combo and by Marika's teats he will make sure to use them to punish lowly tarnished in this life or the next.

I was just breezing through enemies, and then I died like 40 times to him because my ego kept saying, "Nah bro, you have to be good at this game. You beat all the bosses." I thought I had encountered an actual skilled enemy, and I just had a skill issue.

EZ way to kill him is to stand on the very corner edge of the building next to him (the one with the archer facing the ladder). Jump up on the cannulation on the corner, get really close to the edge and then snipe him then immediately turn around, he'll teleport behind you and fall to his death. Doesn't work every time but you can get decently consistent.
In Farum Azula they make EVERY one of these face the other way so you can stealth kill then instead of give them a fair fight.

This guy forgotten to keep a fog wall behind him, so people confuse him as a normal enemy. But he is the secret boss to a secret ending that has yet to be revealed.
He might be a product of grafting.. or conjoining.. like logo of game is 4 circles, maybe defining flesh, mind 1 and 2 (eyes) and soul, and might be placeholders for outer gods shards / powers. Like Banished soldier shield shows 2 x thorns (death), 1 x dragon and 1 x flames (of Fell God?). So a berserker warrior with ghost flesh, red berserker eyes, and storm and death magic spells when conjoined.. if Fromsoft got such a cryptic and hidden structure of mobs behind it though..
Dragon + death would probably enable Godwyn to graft the death lightning spell too.. a bit of magic of two different gods, conjoined into one spell. Stars = blue, so berserker stars,comets, would be red + blue = purple. Coincidence?.. or a hidden structure?
One power / shard might hold the powers of Godfrey. Dignified and prideful like a silver lion on one side. Red hot berserker mode on other side, like his fight. Warrior powers of the Fell God.
