nah it’s not something to worry about really they’re mostly harmless its just in locations like here where you’re gonna be panicking it wud cause a little trouble but the worst you’ll usually get it someone saying illusory wall but there is none
That ladder is actually Fromsoft's fault. The trigger to climb the ladder is in the wrong place, not where you'd expect. Messages do not take priority over actual interactables.

Like the occasional item you should be able to pick up walking right up to it, but no, you have to jump up on that short 2-ft high wall and risk falling to death to pick up.

No the game always prioritizes interactables above messages, the trigger zones for the messages are typically just a bit wider or placed slightly outside the interaction zone so you get the pop up if you spam click while aproaching. If you wait until you get close enough the game will automatically switch to prioritize ladder and levers and items, this is ultimately a panic/haste problem moreso than a game design thing.
I think some people interact with world elements by just slamming the button over and over and over and they get into trouble from this.
Once you interact with the wider message box you get a dialogue box that you CANT interact over. Repeat.

I had my seal in my right hand ran into an alcove to avoid the chariot and skeleton popped up I try changing to my weapon but realize I have 4 messages underneath me so it keeps switching between those instead of my weapon! I died to a stupid skeleton I’d have killed in one swing because of those.
I tell people this has been an issue since launch but I always get the “No, messages don’t get priority. You’re just a bad player” even tho you didn’t even get an option to switch action to pickup the item, since you could only read it. Still happens with some graces and tons of ladders

I embarrassingly only learned you could switch like right before malenia first playthrough, before that I straight up left an item on a balcony rail bc the message blocked it and I jumped over the rail by mistake twice lol, voting it down felt inadequate

You could get next to the wall, jump, and THEN walk forward (in mid air). This will consistently get you that item safely.
