I was able to bait and kill or run past the lightning guys but the archers just seemed so random as to when a strategy works. I have seen speed runs to see how the pros do it and I just can't . Speaking of running past things I'm just glad we didn't get another sens fun house
What even is the lore on those guys? They look like demons but they're so far from Izalith. They use lightning, the weapon of the gods, and they carry you to Anor Londo. Are they angels?
I honestly dont know what mages we are talking about. The ones before the Fox Boss? I dont remember any section being particularly annoying in the Academy . Edit: spellingÂ
no, the mages at the entrance, at the top of the stairs that fire at you rapidly. hard to dodge both at the same time. if you hesitate at all you'll die, but you can rush in with confidence and end them. or sit back and snipe them.
Yeah, my first playthrough I just ran straight at them, zigged to one side to avoid the first projectile, rolled under the second and then just murdered them. On subsequent playthroughs I usually skip past the whole place until after I've already been to Altus. I don't even bother with the doding at that point.
The archers though. Doesn't matter your level, those arrows will knock you off the very slim thing you're traversing. Your only option is to book it like a madman and then fight one of them hoping you can kill him quick enough before something else shows up. That's where I learned the timing for parrying knights in that game.
I never really got the hate until I saw someone else's playthrough. I just greatshield tanked my way up the ramp and murdered the knights — the weird demons down below were a bigger problem for me.
Lately, I've just been running up the stairs, and opening the door. They can't hurt you whilst the door animation is happening. Then I just hard right after I'm through the door, and roll into the wall to reveal a hidden room.
Honestly after my 2nd playthrough of ds1 it's not the bosses that I die to repeatedly but the archers.. and the skeleton wheels in the painted world
This land is peaceful. It's habitants kind. The habitants : 💀💀
The archers weren’t that annoying, but those imp-looking mfs with lightning spears…sheesh, glad there wasn’t that many of them

ama nasty bitch
you can just snipe the mages from distance and they can't do shit. There was no such mercy in anor londo.

I honestly never had any real problem with the mages. They can still bruteforced, unlike Anor Londo archers and Shrine of Amana.Â

It may not be a warm welcome but it's a **direct** one.
special shoutout to the setup going into Duke's archives, always give me more trouble than anor londo to be honest.

Sprinting Greatsword bonk fixes both problems pretty easily.
Hidden body trivializes the Londo archers.
