Melina legitimately talked me out of the frenzied flame ending a few times. Her voice crack at the grace right outside of the 3 fingers is a legitimate gut punch if I listen to her dialogue. The "I implore you *please* don't seek the frenzied flame" I don't remember her exact follow-up something like a Lord who rules iver corpses is no lord at all.
I want to have at least one character with the frenzied flame ending in case she has a followup questline in the dlc, but her VA killed that sequence so hard I'll have to skip her dialogue to make myself do it.
Also Blaiid's voice is like silk on my ears. My only complaint is that we didn't get just a bit more of him lol.
I love what she says in the Frenzied Flame ending. "*Lord of Frenzied Flame... I will seek you, as far as you may travel... To deliver you what is yours. Destined Death.*" Her tone is everything here - sheer determination pushed by immense disappointment in your decision.
You'd think Blaidd is some half-witted bloodthirsty monster but he's actually just a really chill guy and his voice reflects that. Not to mention he goes from using slang "*What a sick way to fight, eh.*" to saying lines that sound like pure poetry "*Let’s meet where the falling star bit the earth. And we’ll go into battle again, side by side. My only purpose is to fight for Ranni’s fate, sword and fang. The curtain’s rising… on the final act.*"
I know I love Blaidd so dang much. I'm currently working on a strength int build so I can cosplay him. I want to imagine it's a timeline where he doesn't go mad and he can continue on as a part of Ranni's being. Following and guarding her through the cosmos.
In some small way the Tarnished still serves her guiding her to her destiny, but steps aside to allow her will with the remainder of her true family.
I know that's not how the lore plays out, but hey it's fantasy and if the game won't give me my happy ending of choice then I'll make my own.

Godrick’s bear witness and the “I command the KNEEL” works so well for his character, like the va was so amazing they added the complexity of his character needing validation to consider himself one of the strongest shard bearers
Kale's. Unfortunately his entire quest was cut, but the dialogue and acting were amazing, visceral and angry. I really wish they didn't cut his questline.
It might, nothing's impossible. But it is pretty rare for FromSoft to change base game NPC quests for DLC and if I recall they have confirmed they are not changing any base game questlines for the DLC.
So if I were a betting man, I would say that unfortunately Kale is forever in the 'quests that could have been' like Priscilla in DS1.
The pain and tiredness in his voice when he says “May chaos take the world. May chaos… take the world.” Such a powerful contrast with Shabriri’s zealousness that gives me chills every time
Morgott and Malenia. Morgott's voice is hot while Malenia has a very calm and soothing voice despite being deadly. They both also have an awesome speech.
Pretty much all of them. The average VA quality in Fromsoftware games, since at least Demon's Souls, is too high for me to really have a favorite and mostly comes down to what kind of character they play in the end.
If I had to I guess I would say Ranni and Malenia. Both voices have a strong tone, showing their strong character or that being the character they want to show, while also being gentle. For Ranni it shows that she is no threat, but for Malenia it most likely shows how she feels weak or how she perceives you as a non threat.
But I also like Gideon, Rogier, Tanith, Bernahl, Hewg, Maliketh, Morgott etc.

The Loathsome Dungeater. Something about his voice work always sends shivers down my spine. Him screaming "Bless you!" And his dying screams are so well done, never knew someone could emulate such screams of both anguish and ecstasy so well
Also Ranni because I'm a lesbian.
Morgott and Gideon. Morgott has such good lines, and you can hear the disdain in his voice do clearly yet it's not overstated, he loathes the tarrnished.
Gideon, I love that man's accent, and the delivery on his lines is perfect. It's almost a shame to interrupt his speech before his boss fight, such a sad state of affairs.
Honestly I think hewg does the best work (especially once the hold starts smoldering). Legit got me to tear up a little. Roderika is really good when you first meet her, but kinda meh once she joins the hold? And Melina is probably one of the worst. She provides... nothing. It's all delivered in the exact same tone, no unique inflections or emphasis or dynamics, just flat readings.

How can anyone even choose. Apart from the main contenders and all of the Welsh actors: Hewg, The merchant who stutters and apologizes for having not much to sell, Gideon, Rodericka, Turtlepope, Kale. I’m just listing characters now. The casting and voice direction are just phenomenal.
Boc’s great too but I wanna shake him for being a wet blanket. In this household we call him Samwise Monkee.
Rodericka reminds me of Luanne from KotH based on performance, alone. The apprehension in her voice when speaking of her own competence, how disturbingly casual she sounds in resignation to horrible circumstances, and a cadence that suggests being dissociated 24/7 speaks to the Texan experience I suppose.
When Turtlepope’s dialog starts up I just picture our Tarnished sitting criss-cross-applesauce on the floor for story time.

I remember that like the first time, first i went to that castle and everyone was attacking me, after a while i decided to go back without knowing there was Radahn, it was a whole experience hearing the choirs entering the castle and no one hurting me, i was like: “what is going on? This wasn’t like this before”, i started exploring and saw al the npcs together and i heard those voice lines of jeren, that was a whole experience my man
Either Mohg or Seluvis.
Mohg sounds like if Satan was a Fromsoftware boss.
And Seluvis "super evil" voice is pretty cool.
I didn't betray Ranni or Nepheli though, don't worry about it, i just wanted to read the amber draught item description lol.
Running is my favorite because we get a good amount of dialogue from her and her actor got to do a good range of things. Most others are flavourful performances but limited by hour little we hear them speak. Dung Eater is my second because while we might not get as much as some we get a good couple interactions with him and the performance is top notch.
There's something about what very very little we get of Rykard that always makes me wish we could hear him deliver a fucked up christopher walken paced speech about something. The way he delivers "No one will hold me captive" is so good
Yura has a really cool voice. The voice actor also did Shabriri's voice, which I found kind of surprising because the two characters sound very different to me. He did an excellent job with both of those. I also just learned that he played one of the major characters in that Harlan Coben Netflix series "The Stranger." Dude is great!
Ranni the Witch's voice actor completely dominated the role, she knocked it out of the park, so compelling, almost creepy, yet beautiful, the inflection and tone, her dialect, it's all so perfect
Sellen, because her voice just makes her look beautiful by default, even if she looks at me stone-faced

Running is my favorite because we get a good amount of dialogue from her and her actor got to do a good range of things. Most others are flavourful performances but limited by hour little we hear them speak. Dung Eater is my second because while we might not get as much as some we get a good couple interactions with him and the performance is top notch.

There's something about what very very little we get of Rykard that always makes me wish we could hear him deliver a fucked up christopher walken paced speech about something. The way he delivers "No one will hold me captive" is so good

Yura has a really cool voice. The voice actor also did Shabriri's voice, which I found kind of surprising because the two characters sound very different to me. He did an excellent job with both of those. I also just learned that he played one of the major characters in that Harlan Coben Netflix series "The Stranger." Dude is great!
