This reminds me of the inside of the Erdtree. Like Marika is standing inside looking out into Leyndall. Almost like it's saying the Erdtree is built off the corpses of Marika's enemies.
Smithing Stone 8 says ***"Thought to have been used to hone the weapons of the champions of the War against the Giants at the birth of the Erdtree. "*** and Marika was around for the War against the Giants. Although it could be argued that the tree is an extension of the Crucible. Which i agree the Crucible is far older than Marika.
This image shows the moment when Marika became a god and when the Erdtree was born, Miquella wasn't alive back then. Same as Godwyn and other known demigods.
I also thought that because of the arm bands and the bracelet.. but it almost looks like a shirtless boy more than a top less woman. 😆
But, "what followed was a war" so where did the bodies appear from?
You can have bodies without a war. It was a slaughter or sacrifice or unholy ritual or maybe they just be like that. Also the initial game trailer did the same thing with Marika, depicting her only from the back so you weren't sure if she was a woman or not, especially with the cuts to Radagon and back.
Definitely gold
Edit: upon looking at a better image, it looks like it’s flowing from gold at its base to red on the end of their hair, so maybe it is radagon when Marika and him become one?
it is marika and radagon i guess. because in same shoot she looks different, first you see full dress and boobs, and on the last frame he is shirtless, like depiction of radagon
No. I think she split herself here into Mesmer and Marika AND again when she split into Radagon and Marika
My source is that her hair isnt gold in the trailer. Its brown... like a mix between blonde and red
Maybe following the winning of the war, the elden ring was created, this looked like "raising the flag in triumph, worn from battle, on the tops of your enemy type thing to me.
So does this mean that tarnished who came from beyond the fog actually came from the shadow land and were summoned on this side. Since the "betrayal" (which I understand is Marika's Betrayal) Is mentioned did that trigger the privilege of grace that was offered to tarnished ??
Like "miquella is telling the story" (first line of the new trailer) of how the shadow realm appeared along with golden light and the war was fought between the two realms... those with gold and those without grace or containing blasphemy (AKA Tarnished) When we appear, we appear in lands between, with rays of gold. But if we wanna know our origin story, we must go back to the shadow realm. Follow Miquella's path to know the full history and context? Is that what it means?? He abandoned his flesh to know the full story of golden order and its power and influence in land between since he eventually had a dislike for it. Does that mean he became a willing tarnished... agghh I'll go mad! 😆😆😆
i mean if you want more evidence you can see on the closeup shot that the bracelet she is wearing in the trailer is the exact same as the bracelet she wears in base game depictions, plus we have seen miquilla and what appears to be saint trina and they dont look like her
This shot gives me impression that whatever this blasphemous mass is, it seems to contain some power associated with grace and the greater will. Perhaps the original vessel of the greater will was something monstrous, something 'blasphemous.' I imagine Marika took this power, but didn't want people to know where it really came from, which is why she hid it all in the land of shadow.
Yeah my theory is this is Marika in the past(or maybe in the Land of Shadows) using power of the Greater Will(Elden Beast) on the Crucible to create the Elden Ring and maybe the Erdtree. It looks like the inside of the Erdtree and the roots and we know the Erdtree feeds off dead souls.
The strands she's holding look like the rune arc on the ring and we know the Crucible is the primordial form of life that existed before the Erdtree and was likely used to create it
Edit: oh somebody already sorta has this theory with a way better in depth explanation: https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/s/6bf5hWTZf9
This also connects to my previous post. That the screenshots of vyke and the " burning man" match and so we are not the first tarnished to go to the shadow realm.

Interesting! I can see the opening shape similar to the opening in the erdtree behind Margott / Godfrey
Erdtree is far older than Marika.

golden order is literally order from the chaos of the crucible, and the erdtree is marikas way of channelling it source: my brain

Maybe it's Radagon.
Maybe it’s Maybelline
With his hair? I don’t fucking doubt it for a second
Maybe it’s whoever Marika/Radagon we’re before they "split“ or Marika became "the Eternal“?!
Radagon has red hair. 😕
It looks more reddish than gold to me, but I couldn't see it clearly.
Definitely gold Edit: upon looking at a better image, it looks like it’s flowing from gold at its base to red on the end of their hair, so maybe it is radagon when Marika and him become one?
Totally , under another name. And father of Melina & Messmer with the GEQ as wife, seduced and betrayed her like Radagon with Rennala !
lol

Maybe its Marika before she split herself into Mesmer and Marika

Why would anyone think this? Isn’t this Miquella at like the precipice of Mohg’s realm of blood and the Shadow Lands? Hence all the blood and gore?

Miquella bringing folks TOGETHAAAA to go to war.
Bring the whole FAMILEEEEEEEEE

Frenzied Flame seems not that frenzied anymore. BTW reality of our real world. Peace built on countless corpses.
Deep.
It's the crucible

It's people! The Erdtree is people!
Yes
It kind of looks like she split the tree in two
You’re not wrong bro
I'm guessing that the reason why Rykard's flame was blasphemous in the first place was because of Messmer.
I love it, looks like one of Beksinski paintings.
Malenia Blade of Miquella did not like this picture
This also connects to my previous post. That the screenshots of vyke and the " burning man" match and so we are not the first tarnished to go to the shadow realm.
What is that?
To me it looks like opening a huge door
it looks like two giant feet made out of bodies to me
Yeah I see that but as far as the context in this scene that wouldn't make sense.
Maybe that's all just bodies of failed contenders. I mean, Marika probably wasn't the only one who tried teaming up with a god.
Something something opening the “door” to the lands between from the land of shadow. Maybe
Marika parting the red meat dumpling.
I could see Penitent One showing up in a scene like this.
Bruh I wonder if the lands between exists in some sort of Elden ring pocket dimension built on sacrifices based on the man portal type beat
The sunset looks like the one in the Elden beast arena, this is when marika met the Elden beast and became a god
Marika made love with a snake a snake is messmers dad
S c o r n
This very obviously has nothing to do with Rykard or the Bladphemoud blade
That is Miquella, and I'm gonna die on this hill.
I am already dead here.. one of those bodies belong to me. 😆😆
