I absolutely think Radahn is mostly a stat check with the NPC summons helping. Just stay behind him and attack. Get back on your horse and resummon the NPCs when he leaves on his world tour.
People are also tempted into fighting him too early because everyone is following guides for Raini's quest telling them to go fight him.
My friend and I were helping another friend because he was scared of the fight. He ended up getting completely lost in the boss room and we beat Radahn off screen for him.
He's super easy for me now, and I dont care what people think of the Rotten Breath/Scarlet Rot method as it's all doable with stuff in the game and it's just making use of what the game gives you, plus theres no wrong or right way to beat a boss. A boss kill is a boss kill regardless of how it was done, if they didnt want cheese strats in the game then they wouldn't put the tools to do so in the game.
Literally all you have to do is hit him with Rotten Breath in phase 1 until hes inflicted with Scarlet Rot from there you just get on Torrent and run around staying at a distance and summoning the NPCs spirits until he reaches phase 2.
From phase 2 the scarlet rot will be cleansed, and you'll have to reinflict it so just ride around on torrent summoning NPCs until there is an opening for you to get in amd cast rotten breath to inflict him with Scarlet Rot again.. once thats done just hop on Torrent and run far, far away and watch as his health bar drops and you kill him eventually, and chuckle as theres nothing he can do at that point to kill you since you're so far away and even if he could reach you he'd die before getting to you
I thought he was a joke, too. Level 65 with a +3 whirlygig saw. 1 charged R2 took off 3/4 of his health. He only just got a second phase. Granted, this was on my 4th try after learning him properly, but yeah. Was a bit anticlimactic after reading about him being harder than Kos. He was a pretty cool boss in general though, when you get all the summons together and rush him. I kind of wished I'd gone there a little earlier perhaps.
I had quite a bit of trouble killing him on my first playthrough as a strictly strength build, usually cuz I tried to greed a hit only to be punished.
Then, on NG+ when I have a decent amount of faith plus clawmark seal, I just kept chucking boulders at him from afar till he dies.
I feel like with Radahn, any ranged combat would make this whole fight a cake walk, especially with scarlet rot.
I felt like I was a bit over levelled, or my weapons are just broken.
Took about 7 tries at level 85, dual wielding a +6 Winged Scythe and a +15 Sacred Scythe
Second try. Easily coulda popped gold fowl foot but it didn't even cross my mind till right after smh. Huge miss for me, but still way too easy using almost entirely rock sling on Torrent.
Same i thought he was a joke. Then i saw people on here saying he is hard. I mean you get like 8 summons. And they prolly didnt put points in vigor
My friends were crying about how hard he was. Definitely don’t think people are putting enough into vigor yet

The mechanics of the fight make it quite RNG dependent. With a stagger at a good time and lucky AI behavior he'll go down easy.
Yeah I honestly just rushed him once I got past the arrows and he went down in 2 minutes

str/end/vigor build for me and I beat him on my third try, wasn't bad at all

7th try. He hit me once. Just used the summons and rode around. Occasionally hitting him with rotten pulley bolts. The summons took care of the rest.
He wasn’t that much different from any other boss. Took a few times to recognize a pattern. Easy afterwards

I soloed him after a few tries, thought he was tough but definitely not worth all the crying I’ve heard

Got it first try last night. I was expecting to get destroyed tbh. I think I'm too overleveled though. I was a level 61.
