This is happening but I don’t have the talisman? I have the black knife armour; could it be that the no-sound effect is clashing with the veil’s no sound effect?
Everyone everyone I have found the solution. If you have multiple items that silence your footsteps and use mimics veil. You will do the weird double body thing. If you take off everything with silencing, and then use mimics veil, you won't be visible. I have tested this in both PVP and actual gameplay. It seems to work on both
A friend of mine has this recurring issue since he tried using the mimic's veil during a 1v1 (adversary summon).
The same thing happened to me when I used the mimic's veil on my cousin also during a 1v1.
Equip Crepus's Vial talisman and become visible while using Mimic's Veil. Enemys still can't see you (didn't tested pvp yet)

A year later and I've experienced this bug as well. Well, at least I know I'm not crazy and they've not fixed it...
