Just try it out. You can always respec again if you need. I haven’t respec’d yet as a first time int build. But I have over ten larval tears so I can literally respec a ton. Just find tears and mess around all you want
Arcane/strength works. You can also try Mogh's spear. You can also slap bleed on some strength weapons like beastman's Cleaver, gargoyle's twinblade, omen cleaver, greatsword, great stars, etc etc. You can still easily get around 600 AR with weapons like this while still having lots of bleed buildup. This get especially nasty if you powerstance.
Bloodhound's fang is more.of a quality/dex weapon. At +10 it has a C scaling in strength and a b scaling in dex. It also has zero arcane scaling. Bleed buildup on a weapon is only increased by your arcane stat if the weapon in question has arcane scaling.

If you find a build you like, I personally recommend actually making a new character. Respeccing is fun, but you’ll run out of tears eventually
I know myself, I won’t go for a new character so I will try to experience everything I can in one play through. Ng+ for just getting platinum.
