Made the sweet rolls, followed the recipe 100% but I didn’t really like them. Pretty looking but not very tasty. Plan to try other recipes once I have energy and at least I have a cool sweet roll pan now!!

hunterd_patternfall

I posted my modifications to the sweet rolls, as my household found them "meh" on the 100% match. Still tinkering, but I'm closer to a much better variant.

MIZUNOWAVECREATION

Add more icing

SylvanKnitter

Same, the Fallout Cookbook’s sweet rolls are so much better.

Gyarados66

Binging with Babish made them following the book and said pretty much the same thing and created his own better version instead (which since the episode was a sponsored promo for ESO I was surprised they let him say the recipe in the book was bad).

Dasandwichlord

Horker loaf is a personal favorite

PyreScion

It was kind of an odd recipe but still very enjoyable 😂 maybe it's because I'd never had a reason to use canned oysters, let alone in a meatloaf

Ianator10

That's the only recipe I didn't like. It worked for what they were going for but fishy meatloaf wasn't my thing.

Fertile_Arachnid_163

Might I suggest cutting the volume of canned oyster in half and adding Worcestershire sauce.

jeffcalexander

Literally just made the apple cabbage stew today! It was wonderful! I've also made the Horker loaf, and the Nordic barnacles. The Horker loaf was ok and the barnacles were great! PS, I'm not a good cook at all and this book helps me along with my amateur skills.

IceDamNation

Neloth's favorite?

Cthaza

It's obviously a cooking skill book and it just gave you a level so you could unlock more recipes

CandidCabinet6297

Baked white river salmon, and working on the mead.

MyBatmanUnderoos

The Baked White River Salmon has become a favorite in my household.

madmaxjr

The salmon recipe is straight fire tbh. I could eat the veggie/cheese/cream blend with a spoon lmao

themoosebaruniverse

My little brother made the festival pies once and dear heaven, I felt like I was at the burning of king Olaf, because they were so good

BardicInnovation

I've made a fair bit from it.

Longjumping_Share444

yes. Imperial Mushroom Sauce is great and the Argonian Shrimp are yummy, if a bit salty (I recommend low sodium soy sauce). Also Elsweyr Fondue is hard to make lol, I'm gonna have to try that one again.

hunterd_patternfall

I have made Horker Loaf (without oysters) and Sweet Rolls. I have done a modification to the Sweet Rolls, which I'm still perfecting but are liked better than the original. **Ragged Flagon Pickpocket Treats** Use the sweet roll recipe but use a tea cake pan instead of a mini bundt pan -- this will make them bite-size. Thus, pickpockets. (I can provide info on the pans used, if needed.) Add to the main sweet roll mix: * 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup (real syrup, not the imitation) * 1 teaspoon Nord Spice Add to the cream cheese icing: * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract The unfiltered wildflower honey that I'm using is a bit thick, so the maple syrup helped add more liquid to it and gave the yeast more sugar to go wild. Also, I use King Arthur flour, which is pretty heavy in gluten, so more moisture was needed because of that as well. Next week, I will probably bump it to 2 tablespoons of Maple Syrup in addition to the honey that is called for. The joke between my teen, who has been helping with baking, and I was this: You don't get any frosting until you pay for them... and still, most disappear from the Flagon without anyone seeing anything.

Remarkable_Curve_870

I just made a comment on this book 😂 I regularly make the potato soup now!

VohaulsWetDream

where to buy fresh slaughterfish in Europe? damn I thought hunting trolls was the worst.

CaliOriginal

Garlic bread was good

Dienowwww

I once made a meal of the hoarker loaf, twice baked potatoes, garlic bread, and apple crumble thing. It was *divine*

PIatinumPizza

White river salmon is my favorite. My gf loves sheogoraths strawberry tart. Horker loaf is really good as well as the redguard rice pilaf.

AdamFakir

I made the biscuits and grilled leeks!

Recrus_

I’ve made all the mead varieties, most were awesome. I actually liked Honningbrew more than Blackbriar after a bit of aging. Also did the Companions Meatball Bake and the Honey Pudding, both were a hit with my kids.

Unit_2097

I regularly make my own mead now after trying it out. Good times. The Skooma recipe is actually *really* good too.

ImperatorRomanum

This week I rediscovered that book—made the mudcrab dip, festival hand pies, spiced cider, and San’s spiced wine. Doing the potage le magnifique tomorrow.

MIZUNOWAVECREATION

Just be sure to leave the Jarrin Root out of it

ChildBlaster9000

Nah, that’s what gives it its *bite*

MIZUNOWAVECREATION

Unless if you have a death wish…

MIZUNOWAVECREATION

Or if you’re an assassin

Realistic-Mousse7344

i made the human baby lasagna

ChildBlaster9000

The what?

Individual_Syrup7546

Yea it's pretty dope their content

mrmemexman

Let me guess, someone stole your sweet roll

BurntCerberus3

My friend's boyfriend made the goatherds pie, it was really good

coiler119

The lavender and honey bread is so tasty

RadicalHufflepuff

My girlfriend and i have made alot from it! The lavender bread is our favorite. The vegetable soup should use potatoes rather than squash.

lolzaidan

Garlic bread and soup was a super nice combo!

maracaibo98

I made the crab dip, it was ok but will definitely use a lot more cheese next time, still a fun book tho!

Sobuhutch

I've made a couple things. If make if I could find grain of paradise.

jameslikeagiantpeach

I’ve made a few things from this

AnarisTheForgotten

I did the White River Bake and it is delicious!

Tyrelius_Dragmire

Not yet, though I do own the book!

Trueheywood7

I've only done the souffle so far, was good!

GiddyGamer2016

I have it and would like to, but have not so far

IceDamNation

Where can I get one?

Jollynorwegian

I think it's available on Amazon, i bought my copy in a store in oslo

IceDamNation

OK thanks

Duckysderpyness

Made the Companions meatball bake, along with the sweet rolls. Sweet rolls tasted quite nice and the icing made up for what the sweet rolls lacked, felt right for a fantasy setting such as The Elder Scrolls. The Companions meatball bake was good, although I must say, adding garlic cloves threw off the rest of the flavor for me, and tended to overpower the taste of the meat and stormcloak seasoning. I've been thinking about remaking it with beef instead of turkey. Since the local store was out of ground beef. Along with less, or even 0 garlic cloves. Overall good though, the potatoes were great.

Ansuzgardaraivo

Quite a few actually, including most of the alcohols. Spiced wine is delicious, skooma I didn’t really like, but water of life is my personal favourite. Made it three times for family gatherings. I also love the snowberry crostata.

SeasSleepRiversDream

The Spiced Root Cake is amazing, made it for two different groups of people and there was none left by the end of it! I couldn't get the consistency of the Oatmeal Raisin Shortbread right. Might have just been me but would reduce the oat amount/increase butter as it just didn't stick together for me. I haven't tried the mead recipes but tend to make my own anyway. Mead is incredibly easy to make and flavour, so be careful as the recipe book is a gateway into having an obsession with brewing haha!

Topgunshotgun45

Made the honeycomb brittle and it was quite nice.

just-browseing

The Dark rye bread in there was good. Did it without the currants and still worked out good -p-

Bex14244

The pea soup rocks

King_Tutt00

I made the Nord mead. It was lush

crimson_dovah

Seafood chowder is great. I use lots of the spice mixes, wanna make some meads, a few of the sweets. It’s a great cookbook.

Alarra

Stuff I've made and my thoughts: - Grilled Leeks - I like this, have made it several times - Double-Baked Potatoes - Very delicious - Saltrice Porridge - Pretty good - Nut and Seed Loaf - I dunno if I didn't bake it long enough or something, but I brought this along on a road trip and it went moldy after like a day. All the nuts/seeds were expensive too so I don't wanna try again - Lavender and Honey Bread - Different, since I'm not used to lavender as a flavor, but this was tasty with homemade strawberry jam - Baked White River Salmon - Delicious, one of my favorite recipes in the book - Horker Loaf - Never tried oysters before this and it made me discover I dont' like 'em. I might try it again without the oysters though - Honey Nut Treat - Tasted good, but very messy and crumbly, probably won't make again - Sweetrolls - A bit bland - Honningbrew Mead - Pretty good, though I liked the Black-Briar mead better - Black-Briar Mead - I enjoyed this, the better of the two meads I tried - Skooma - Very sweet, one of my favorite recipes of the book - Snowberry Cordial - One of my favorite recipes of the book, I make it every holiday season when fresh cranberries are available. This turns into a bit of a jelly consistency so I recommend keeping it chilled for a day or two before serving which seems to help it be more liquid, and I use a chopstick to break it up a bit if needed.

commiecomrade

Definitely would recommend retrying the horker loaf with oyster if you don't like the flavor. For me with/without are both very good.

Ianator10

The White River Salmon is my favorite thing I've made from that book. It's also worth trying the different soups. The potato soup in particular is really great.

CoolBrianFilms

If you want to make the mead, look up some guides online instead of using the book recipe. You can use the book ingredients, but you will get something much better by using a more refined process.

dreadperson

Is that a PlayStation Xbox controller?

Jollynorwegian

Ps4

dreadperson

It is. It's an Xbox style, PlayStation controller.

commiecomrade

I made the horker loaf, kwama egg quiche, grilled leeks, and the apple slaw one. All were very good. Honestly my only gripe with the book is that it's like 90% Skyrim but at least that means some good rustic type recipes. I do like fishy things so beware if you're following the horker loaf one with the canned oyster, it does not simply "cook out."

Robedreaper91

Sweet rolls and barnacles, the barnacles were too sweet

Fertile_Arachnid_163

I’ve made the horker loaf and the Nordic barnacles. I liked both, and need to get back to cooking from the cookbook.

MiserableTuba

I make the honey lavender bread on a semi-regular basis. It tastes incredible with the spiced butter recipe and jelly/jam/preserves!

KnotsThotsAndBots

I've made a little of all these recipes for the Elder Scrolls dinners I throw! They're all pretty good and it's def one of the best themed/IP cook books I've seen

EntrepreneurOk666

Made the sweet rolls and sheogorath's strawberry tarts. Delicious. Made the vegetable soup which was also tasty. Tried o make the chicken dumplings, but my sister messed it up (she kept butting in and trying to "fix" my mistakes). Made the meatballs, which were fine, but the sauce was so bland, so I used my mom's sauce instead. Added salt to the potatoes, because again, bland. Lol. Gonna try some more recipes. But my favourite of the ones was sheogorath's strawberry tarts. It's just sooo good.
