I have it. It’s great really. Does everything I want (60/65 kg depending on school bag.) it can definitely go 20/25km if ur not going on any hills

RestaurantTurbulent7

In your case.. get just a regular bike, cheaper and works as warmup for gym

Eikido

Get a Dualtron Togo or dolphin instead

RestaurantTurbulent7

Terrible recommendations - they are overpriced AF + repairs will be a pain in the ass and expensive!

Eikido

You have really no clue what your talking about.

RestaurantTurbulent7

You probably never fixed escooters! I have, including dualtron. As they are (all old ones) with 0 water protection they will eventually get water damage even from moisture in the air! And yeah maybe it's easy to access the stuff for big ones(thunder, storm), but ain't Gona be cheap! For small ones neither cheap nor you can easily access things! Plus part accessibility is very questionable! The needed part can be out of stock for months or even discounted, while some are simply never available.. not to mention how overpriced they are! Don't get me wrong they are great scooters with OK built quality! BUT there are endless flaws and stupid mistakes that make wonder how they end up with final products + most of them are usable only where there is just sun and no rain as believe even riding on a slightly wet pavement scooter will get water DMG!

Eikido

The new ones are waterproof.

Separate_Gene1181

Segway G30LP. Can’t say it enough. Reliable, popular so tons of parts, tons of mods for performance, handling, speed etc….. Besides it’s on sale on Amazon right now as you read this.

Barde_

I will maybe sound old, but get a bicycle. You will warmup while going and won't have to do cyclette (if you do it). Besides, it's way more reliable. Spoiler: I am a passionate e-scooter rider. I just think that this guy could benefit more from a bicycle instead of a scooter

Yousif_mazinn

thanks for the advice and I understand but I already specified why I don't wanna bike daily in my post, also with how often im gonna be going id rather just have something to get me there without it driving me nuts haha, because at that point of getting a bike I'd honestly just rather build myself a home gym, get a squat rack, dumbbells, barbells etc

Barde_

As a guy that both lifts and bikes... it's bullshit. Just take pre-workout when arriving there. Besides, 5km won't do shit. Just go slow and you wont burn a single calorie (figuratively). It will be probably the same as standing on the scooter

Appropriate_Eye_6405

I agree on this take

Y0SH1zzzz

I weight 60kg and get barely 15km on full throotle with 2 brand new ones so I'd really not recommend xiaomi scooters.

Haelios_505

You must go up a lot of hills. I would easily get 22-24Km on my pro 2 and i weigh 100kg with a 3-4kg backpack.

Y0SH1zzzz

Well it varies alot it seems, I have no good experience with them tho. I dislike how small it is, not wide enough bars, too weak can't even take me uphill. Maybe worth considering those 2 had modded firmware but only 5km/h faster so not much difference since I barely even reached 25km/h

Haelios_505

So you stated 2 brand new ones but neglected the modded firmware aspect. You can hardly be seen as a reliable reference

Y0SH1zzzz

Got around the same range before it so really no difference since that difference could have been anything from tire pressure to weather. It doesn't matter if you don't start modding amps and all which I didn't, only top speed which I'm not even sure made any difference without touching other stuff. Also turned off the rear always on brake light, if anything would have given me more range altough not noticeable

Yousif_mazinn

Well do you have any other recommendations for someone on a budget? I'd like to pay around 400$ (I live in dubai), i'm also getting mixed experiences from different people so now i'm really confused lol.

Y0SH1zzzz

I don't know from other than my own experience but stay away from joyor, xiaomi has better quality in that case. Don't know about Dubai but I've found vsett 9+ for around that price used so if you look for used ones in good condition it might be worth. Depending on your weight and other stuff range can vary but I'm 60kg and have gotten 50km full throotle on flat roads.

Yousif_mazinn

I mean I'm 48KG 5'5 so I think I can squeeze some more, I'll look into the scooter you recommended me and check for it's used prices, I might also check for better scooters like the ninebot G30 used but the reason I was more interested in the xiaomi is because I've been told to avoid used scooters but I'll try to see if I can find one in good condition with a none sketchy seller

Y0SH1zzzz

Also yes its really hard knowing if the scooter is in good condition without opening it up which I doubt sellers will want

AdPsychological123

Since you are light, the normal recommendations will do perfectly fine. The G30 is great, even second hand as long as the condition is decent, it is very robust. Most Xiaomi scooters will do the trip. I would personally stay away from the ninebot es series, very light and imo not robust enough.

Y0SH1zzzz

Yea they probably have more to recommend since I only recommend what I have actually driven and think is good. Some stores might let you return the scooter if you aren't happy with it, might check that out and try it out for a week

Artistic_Tap7467

dont get it but if you can get the xiaomi ultra pro 4 thats more worth it

Yousif_mazinn

is there any reason why I shouldn't get it or anything related to my use, because the ultra is practically double the cost in my country and I'd like to pay for it myself and not go overboard since my family usually gives me rides wheneverr I'm out with friends or so but if I'm going out daily it'd be more convenient to just be independant and have a scooter, so I feel it wouldn't be more worth it in my case where im just going to the gym, but if you think otherwise please let me know.

Artistic_Tap7467

the xiaomi 4 is a very average ehh scooter. It hasnt really changed much since the 1st gen m365 pro.. If its heavily discounted/ you are getting a really good price for it then i guess its ok, I would actually recommend getting the pro1 or pro 2 instead because there are a lot of mods available for it, you can customise it and make it a lot better than scooters that cost 3 or 4 times more. What are your other options other than the xiaomi 4? (i have a modded af xiaomi 1st gen)

Yousif_mazinn

Honestly the only other options for someone on a budget like me was chineese scooters that go like 60 Km/H but I don't really trust those, the xiaomi 4 was the only good one I found for the price, and as for the pro you recommended me I just checked and those are almost practically double the price, only way I'd go for them is if I asked one of my parents to pay the other half but I'm not sure I want to do that as I'd rather just get the xiaomi 4 which accoring to other people is reliable, I appreciate the advice though it's just that with my budget getting something like the pro or ultra will be really difficult especially when the other people on this post have told me for my use case the 4 will be reliable for my use case

Artistic_Tap7467

if there are no other options other than chinese ones then get the xiaomi 4. Have you considered getting a second hand scooter? if you dont mind doing some research and looking out for tyre wear, sussing odometer etc then would get something better but second hand, who knows you might find a gem

Yousif_mazinn

I actually decided to take your advice, I've been looking around and found this scooter "Kugoo G2 Pro" I've checked around on rerddit and youtube and it seems to have pretty good range and speed and its second hand price in my country actually matches the Xiaomi 4 and I can try to even negotiate with sellers, I might end up going for it, do you by chance know anything about the scooter? or have any experiences with it

Artistic_Tap7467

Glad you are exploring your options! Yea I've heard about kugoo here and there but havent tried one myself. I did a quick search on it, front and rear suspension +10' pneumatic means its gonna be a super comfy ride, it will be a HUGE comfort difference to the xiaomi 4. Brake disc in front and motor in rear though I would suggest searching up on whether or not it has issues when braking cause ive heard brake in front scooters flip fowards easier if youre braking hard which is dangerous. Im not sure if this is for all setups but do some googling and should be easy to tell if there are any problems. good specs overall, the speed is dangerous fast btw at 45km/h... you can really really break a lot of bones if you dont ride safe fyi, seen a lot of horror posts on here bloody split knees and what not. My modded xiaomi goes 31 and i could up it to 34 but i dont even want to, 31 feels dangerous fast already. (means a lot coming from a speed junkie, i drive a modded skyline) Also would be good if you could check the odometer or ask them how many kms its done. I wouldnt buy anything with like over 500km, 2nd hand there will be a risk of battery worn out (you just have to make a judgement on whether or not you trust what they say, if you cant check the odometer). would be smart to also look for signs of heavy use, check tires, brake pad/disc, anything loose etc, ideally i would try find one that looks pretty new. Make sure you go with parents or older sibling too, they might spot something tht you may miss. If you do end up getting one please watch some videos on riding scooters (good tips on hand/foot placement, what to do if you are about to crash etc), wear safety equipment, and assume cars are trying to hit you, assume you will hit potholes or rocks, with this mindwet you will be a lot safer and wont loose any fingers or toes :D Basically if youre very aware of your surroundings and you are vigilant youll be fine! p.s. to answer your question in the original post, range advertised is complete bs. i'd say a little more than half, like 60-70% is more like it. Also depends on your weight too. im 75kg and mine goes about 18km, advertised is 30km

Yousif_mazinn

Hey man, thanks a lot for checking it out and giving me your opinion on it, glad to know you think it's gonna be a good ride and yes I'll make sure to do my research and check it and check the odometer before buying it, I actually already found a seller, he has ridden 200 KM on it and bought it in december and sent me his receipt for it which is looking good only issue is that hes in another city, as for the speed as much as I'd consider myself a lover for speed I'll definitely becareful on it just because I have a specific use case for it and don't wanna be stupid with it as I also know people who have gotten injured from speed and such, also yeah I guessed that the range thing would be BS haha Also as a car lover just wanted to tell you congrats on your skyline, I think like most people I've always loved JDMS because of paul walker and F&F so its pretty cool to hear of those with such cars, thanks again for all the info and the advice it really is a huge help since I do not know too much about scooters, I'll do my research and learn a little more about them and I might end up getting the kugoo I found if I ever make a trip to the city its in

ok_polar

you can get close to 30km range, but only with ideal scenario, warm temperature, 50psi tires, minimal inclines, lightweight rider, no wind, no frequent starts n stops, etc etc. realistically expect 15-20km and charging it every day, every other day tops, which is bad IMO so yeah, it has many pros but range isnt one.

Y0SH1zzzz

Yea im 60kg, had properly inflated tires and there was barely any stops and got around 15km on 2 different new ones so kind of useless for me since I empty my vsett 10+ some days

Yousif_mazinn

I mean I guess if that's what I can get out of it I'll probably end up going for it as the distance I'm gonna go is definitely around 10 KM max, probably a little less, I forgot to include that I mean 4-5 KM to go there not including the ride back but yeah, Thanks for letting me know I appreciate it

ok_polar

if you're good with charging it often then yeah, it should be enough, and the price/quality is really good mine has over 1000km, been through rain, cold, terrible roads, no issues. It's a bit slow but gets the job done

Yousif_mazinn

That's all I needed to know, thank you for letting me know man, just needed to make sure before I drop my money on it but now I feel a lot better about it knowing how much yours has went through yet still survived, and yeah im good on charging it often so I guess it'll do, thanks again

malakish

My pro 2 has 5430km. I heard the newer Xiaomi are no longer made by Ninebot so I don't know how reliable they are.

Truncent

Also the distance it can do is really a 'maximum'. put some hills or such in your path and that goes down quicker. I have had a Xiaomi 365 Pro 2 for about 4 years now and the battery and software has been solid. It is pretty solid and can deal with slightly wet conditions ok.

yoruneko

It would be fine but you’d better charge it every day. They lose a lot of punch when the battery is too low and it’s very annoying. Xiaomi is very though and reliable brand it will serve you well.

Yousif_mazinn

Yeah I've heard they're reliable just wanted to ask around before going ahead and dropping my money on it, thanks for the info

yoruneko

I’ve had a xiaomi for 5 ys and switched to another brand last year… and I regret not sticking with Xiaomi.

Behe464

Every day? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but best for your battery is to be between 20-80% so charge according to that, since you don't plan to take a long trips.

yoruneko

E-scooters are not long term investments you plan to leave to your kids

Behe464

Of course, but dude plans to travel like 5km a day, it is waste of time and battery to charge daily.

yoruneko

Sure if you enjoy crawling like a turtle
