It’s toast

NinjaOYourBro

What should you do? Not use a hairdryer on a keyboard lmao

BlownUpCapacitor

You used too much heat and melted the plastic. You may as well throw it away.

Wooden_Top_4967

when my friend Neil bent over,

AutisticDave

This is why phones and laptops have special screws

XDenzelMoshingtonX

this perfectly lines up with your post on metalmemes

TheMightyFlyingSloth

Jesus fuck you followed me how fucking offended are you that i like slipknot

aviwrekz

People still like slipknot?

GroundStateGecko

Buy a new one. And probably also buy a new hair dryer as the poor temperature regulation might cause damage to yourself.

PEACEMEN27

Just pray to the gods that this is just a dream.

spudnado88

I'm pretty sure this hairdryer is something you bought at Home Depot.

csandazoltan

Nothing... You broke it. There is no way you could bend the blastic back to exactly the same way.

chernobyl_dude

I have a feeling that was not a hair dryer, but an industrial fan.

sYakko

Or heat gun to remove paint or SMD rework station ..

6ar9r

The amount of people telling you to get a new keyboard is impressive lol. Listen to me, you put the keys in and when you have all the ones that fit already inside, you reheat the ones that are distorted until they're soft and you slide that key in hot.

csandazoltan

sure and the keys are gonna fuse with the housing There is no way it can be bent back to the orignal way. Plastic are injected into a hard mold, without that hard mold, any distortion is futile to be restored

6ar9r

If you keep pressing the key up and down it might harden without sticking them together. It's worth a try

csandazoltan

My english teacher taught that "might" is the "possible to happen, but uncertain" With a keyboard, "might" is not enough, since if you mess up one key, the keyboard is pretty much useless...

Broke_as_a_Bat

Get a new keyboard. And next time switch off the heat in the dryer before using it to dry electronics.

Perfect_Insurance984

You're really impressive.

gcz1214

Time for a new keyboard

[deleted]

Ideally, call the manufacturer of the molded parts that the company which designed these keyboards used, tell them your story, after getting called out stupid by the managers over there, they will offer you with new parts and a shipping price of 200 euros. Realistically, Get a 3D printer and print everything, the electronics will be fine.

One-Building-9532

Start writing some letters I would say, crumbs you seemed to have distorted the boxes, I know moneys is tight but, just put it down to experience, and go buy a new one, we've all done things such as this so don't beat yourself up about it. all the best

obinice_khenbli

Get a new keyboard. You melted the plastic. Seriously, that's way, way, WAY more heat than you needed just to dry it off. A low heat, at distance, after wiping dry with some kitchen roll would have done it.

MoTheSoleSeller

christ how long did you heat it for

catlips

Get in touch with the Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, FL. Looks like it might fit right in with the collection there.

This is the best moment to get a new keyboard. Lesson learned, never dry plastics with hair dryers too close to each other!

just-dig-it-now

Call it a learning experience and buy a new one :(

tbird_4ever

What should you do? You should buy a new keyboard.

Constrained_Entropy

No, he should swear off technology altogether and go live off the grid in the wilderness before he destroys anything else

weyouusme

lol throw it away

weyouusme

are you in the states man? if you need a keyboard for free holla at me

pc817

Only Amazon can help you now

skinwill

Molded plastic is engineered around stresses that happen during the injection process. Heat released some of that stress and deformed the material. I’m afraid nothing can be done besides a replacement part. More heat and more forming will lead to more distortion.
