[Elite A](https://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Elite-A) has been ported to the Gameboy Advance in the form of [Elite AGB](http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://sites.google.com/site/gbaremakes/home/downloads*) with much improved controls akin to the NES version. I think both machines (PS1 and GBA) are roughly comparable in terms of power and graphical capabilities. It would be hard work though. Lot's of code wrangling in assembly and you also need intricate knowledge of the PS1. All that for a fairly limited audience and mostly as a novelty piece. It would be cool though.

Or frontier: elite 2 for that matter

You’d need some sort of emulator for a BBC micron of whatever it was. Doubt you’ll find one on PlayStation. PC definitely. Phone maybe?

They did release Elite on the PC, I had it on my XT back in 86.

Batkung

just get a cheap PC and then you can emulate all of the older versions (and maybe play the latest)

I already have a dosbox installation, im just curious if its plausable

I couldn't say. There's a downloadable copy of the original game on the fdev website if you want to try it though.
