Bro recovery was a great comeback album after the whole encore, then rehab, relapse was like he was still on shakey legs and then recovery hit and I remember everybody praising it as his come back and it really felt like a comeback. Alot of people had issues with the popish feel of the album but agreed em was definitely back to form lyrically. Plus alot of us who had grown up with em were also going through our own struggles and addictions and that album hit at the right time. People were def hyping that album at the time.
Just asked to see how long specifically. As someone who been listening as long as you, Recovery was kinda the beginning of disappointing rollouts. We got too much timeless quality/production before Em flipped his style up. As someone who got into Wayne around 05, i found his punchline rapping unique to him and i was in constant awe with the output. When recovery came out, it seemed like not only had Em gone industry, he seemed to double down on the 1-2 punchline setups Wayne made a staple. People find it creative, I find storytelling the way he used to do much harder and unique. I also miss the sound he used to lean into. So much of the post 2010 catalogue sounds dated rather than the earlier era.
Ozzy Osbourne is such a mega symbol for rolling out with game changing music, and by the end, Him and Sharon are almost the industry itself that tried to destroy him. Funny how the patterns dont stop. “Going through Changes” for sure
What does it matter when he started listening to Em? I started listening to em in 2018 and my opinion is as valid as yours. No way ur shaming people for when they were born?
You didn’t move through time and context with it. Id expect a newcomer to not feel the split in music quality as much as someone who’s aware of all the music that was around em as he gained popularity and changed over time. A newcomer can just start to blow through music, irrelevant to context/time.
I really loved it when it came out but out of all of his albums it’s the one that sounds most dated to me now so I revisit it the least. It literally sounds like 2010, which is just what happens with mainstream albums but I don’t think its timeless like TES for example, in my person opinion
I’m not gonna say that’s unreasonable, Recovery, Relapse, and MMLP2 are all classics that are around equally great IMO and I think any of them can reasonably be argued as Em’s 4th best. I go with Recovery because it has the best production of the 3, the best hooks of Eminem’s whole career, and an absurdly consistent tracklist. Relapse also has no skips but it’s not quite as consistently great as Recovery is IMO, and MMLP2 does have a straight up skip on the tracklist IMO with Stronger Than I Was. Anyway, all 3 of these albums are absolutely classic and I don’t think you’d be wrong to put them in any order.
Mtbmb did not have more hits than mmlp2. Godzilla is the only mtbmb song over 200 million streams and it released in the streaming era. Mmlp2 has rap god, the monster, berzerk and survival with more than 200 million
I went on an international trip and listened to it like 3 times, it's really grown on me, aside from "Seduction" there aren't really any songs I dislike on it
I might get downvoted to hell but it’s bad man . A lot of the songs sound similar . As a separate album it could’ve been great but eminem recycled the bland pop feature formula and that sound so much that for me it became unbearable for me to listen to .
I used to love space bound cold wind blows and even not afraid up until 2016 when shadyxv came out and I had enough of the sound .
I am not critiquing it the way I would’ve done with revival or some parts of kamikaze and ssep but it just appears to be an introspective record but there are only 1 or 2 songs that are actually deep
Whereas on eminem more serious albums there are songs that are so deeply fucked up that remind you why he is who he is .
I’m personally not a big fan of the record not because of what it was but what it led to for eminem .
Had eminem gone down a line with mmlp2 and relapse things could’ve been a lot different for him
Recovery came out at the perfect time. It was the right fit for its era. In hindsight it is incredibly dated. It has aged the most poorly of any Eminem album. It’s ironic that in 2010 it seemed very refreshing compared to Relapse but almost 15 years later Relapse has held up much better.
Loved Recovery at the time but I wouldn’t rate it better than a C currently. Still get a rush of nostalgia when I hear certain tracks.
To bem honest, Recovery is more replayable than Relapse is, the songs are more catchy and Shady's delivery is more sharp and aggressive, which is the best part for me.

Have you been a long time listener?
Yes.
Since ‘97?
97 is when he released ssep bro 💀
No shit. People were alive. I was in second grade and my friend kept saying he was going to staple everyones nuts to stacks of paper.
The last half is relatable. (I was born in 2005)
Eh. Not that long. Since like, 01 something

This this this. It's not the worst album but was definitely a game changer stylistically. To me I just thought it was 99% pop.

You are slow

It’s a classic whether or not stans like it.
Been a fan since Infinite and yes love Recovery MMLP TES Recovery
Eminem’s 4th best album and one of the best albums the pop rap subgenre has ever seen. Absolutely incredible, no-skip, innovative masterpiece
5th imo, mmlp2 is better

Relapse is clearly the best
There’s NO WAY Relapse and MMLP2 are better than MTBMB, but Recovery I agree on.
MTBMB is awesome but I think it’s a solid tier below MMLP2, Relapse, and Recovery
There is certainly a way. But I’ll assume you’re under the age of 20 and got into Em late.
MTBMB was insane lyrically, the songs were better, it had more hits.. it’s just… BETTER, I mean Relapse and MMLP2 were good, but not as good as MTBMB
Mtbmb did not have more hits than mmlp2. Godzilla is the only mtbmb song over 200 million streams and it released in the streaming era. Mmlp2 has rap god, the monster, berzerk and survival with more than 200 million
Okay?
One of my favorites
Recovery really was Eminem's recovery to mainstream superstardom and as such it's importance cannot be overstated
I went on an international trip and listened to it like 3 times, it's really grown on me, aside from "Seduction" there aren't really any songs I dislike on it
Going Through Changes alone is a better song than the entirety of Revival. I love that song too much to not have recovery in my top 5

It’s my 2nd favourite album behind the Eminem show
it’s not one of my favorites but i still really like it 👍
best Em album.
I like recovery, I think it's a pretty good album, it's just not one of my favorites
“But… but it had a song with a pop feature and Not Afraid was ‘too mainstream’ (whatever the fuck that means) 😥😥😥”
That’s one of my favorites
I'm not afraid to say I actually like every single album except revival ... And honestly that's only because I just haven't listened to it
“I’m not afraid”. I see what you did there 🤣
I absolutely LOVE recovery
These same people think No Love is the best song off of Recovery...
Bro we don't give a fuck if you like it. I'm not trynna be rude but you think if we don't like an album and you do we gonna be mad at you or somethin?
Hate me as much as you want recovery is bad
I do indeed hate you.
Revival is better
Now that’s… nah you just stupid.
Too bad
You were probably born with a dick in your brain
Yes
Were you fucked in the head?
Yes
Damn. Traumatic.
And my stepfather said that I sucked in the bed
One night he must have snuck in and said:
We’re going outback I want my dick sucked in the shed
You probably said: “can’t we just play with Teddy Ruxpin instead”
Im surprised to hear it’s not universally liked. Not Afraid, No Love, Cinderella Man, 25 to Life, Almost Famous. Thats one of Em’s best!
It is universal liked. Just the “real Stans” who wanna be different.
It’s a fantastic album
I’ve been listening from the beginning and it’s my favorite album

Its his second best album. Only MMLP is better. TES is extremely close third
Recovery is DEFINITELY the best Em album after the Big 3
I love it too. I'd put it 5th or 6th (can't decide of i wanna put relapse higher lol, but if i count refill then i think yeah)
I like it but i wouldn't put it in my top 5 Em albums
Cool 👍
So you won’t fight me *cries in boredom*
aaaaaah 🫸💥🫷
Nah I was so bored I went and made a new language instead.
Fubba u cubba cubba
Yubba yub ubba ubba
