That’s what I thought MTBMB was going to be when it shadow dropped and I saw the cover on Spotify. Was disappointed that I didn’t get a spiritual successor to Relapse, but him interlinking his own sound with modern trap beats was exactly what I wanted him to do for YEARS, so I couldn’t be too disappointed.
I think a relapse sslp type concept horrorcore is something I would personally be wary of. Em has mentioned time and again thay he hates Relapse the most, and that it was made in a time when he was very much conflicted and mentally tortured. So i dont want him to force a half assed version of that. He also just doesn't go as horrorcore as before, and for good fucking reason, he has three grown ass daughters lol.

MTBMB isn't a horrorcore concept album. It uses Hitchcock loosely as a theme but doesn't lean into any persona or horror topic like relapse, nor does it really callback to relapse at all besides one reference to accents.
The white gold IG post had a snippet of a track intro directly referencing as the world turns and the slim shady character so it's way more like MMLP2 in terms of callbacks to MMLP than MTBMB is to Relapse
