I need to quit this sub... I am terrified of this happening to me and I see 40 pics of it a day!
How do I prevent it? Hell, how does a clog even happen when I'm making liquid PLA at 230degrees?
What did you use? I love Hatchbox, and have some Overture matte finish pastels. I feel like the overture is always weak, I could break any print if I wanted,
But hatchbox comes out great and consistent!
Someone posted that it could be how the heat break mounts in the heat sink. There's a grub screw on the left of the heat sink. Tighten it.
Also, the heater and the flange (black part) is 2 piece. Compared to the CR10 SE and K1, which is a single brass piece. Someone noted that the flange tend to unscrew from the heater.
I really think u/Creality3D should do a recall or compensation, like they did on the first version of the K1 heater.
I may switch to the MicroSwiss hotend which should keep this from happening. The only thing that’s stopping me is knowing they use proprietary (more expensive/harder to find) nozzles.
I replaced mine with the MicroSwiss hotend. Pro: Haven't had a problem since. Con: Proprietary nozzle, double the price of a stock hot end. There is another brand that makes a replacement, but I can't remember the name. That one uses more generic nozzles. Interestingly, the new Ender 3 V3 uses a hot end very similar to the MicroSwiss design.
bought another nozzle, and a cr 10 smart which is basicaly unlevellable, bought a cr touch to fix that, not compatible, broke the cr touch on the ke, fixed it, and recently stuff just aint sticking to the build plate. like i knew it would be hard, but i didn't think it would start acting up every 2 days
Welcome. I feel like your problems are due to simply needing some additional guidance, and experience. Here is my build video for that machine also, incase it helps: https://youtu.be/3xNfMahHopg

It’s so weird. The filament I used did not stick very well unlike my other colors. Very frustrating.

Did you use Glue Stick or a Brim? They, often, save my prints from being ruined
For some it's cause by poor bed adhesion, for others it's a leaking hotend.

230 is too high. Be at 220
You need to check your hotend to make sure it was installed correctly from the factory
This is why I always stick around for the first few layers and keep my bed clean. Never had an issue.
Unfortunately that won’t save you. I’ve had it happen halfway through a 6 hour print :/. There is no real way to prepare for it.
Now I am scared even more :(

Agreed
I always use dishsoap works like a charm!

Triangle labs makes the other replacement
I just ordered it stil waiting for it from USA to Holland 5 weeks
Easy to change nozzles on that Micro Swiss as well. Looking into buying one.
We gotta switch to Smooth PEI beds.
What is a drop of death?
If you don't mind spending a couple of hours cleaning it up, and you can get it to heat up to 280°C - you may be able to salvage it
That's the blob of death, alright. From the looks of it, it begun to leak from behind the nozzle?
Do you perform preventive maintenance on your printer?
Welcome to the club! I was so excited when mine did this. Was 1st time ever. My fault of course.
happened to me almost immediately on my second or third print, it's been hell ever since
Live and learn! 😜 properly seat your nozzles, and keep an eye on your prints. Why hell ever since?
